Chapter EIGHTY TWO.
" What the hell is that?." Aurora asks, her eyes glued to the entrance in the wall that has just opened up after Paul's encounter with the shelf.
' Is that like a secret passage?." Arianna says sounding very excited.
' I guess." Aurora replies. ' I thought things like this only happens in movies." She adds.
' Yes. Interesting ones. This seems like a movie too. Four teenagers acting as undercover for a crime scene." Arianna replies.
' It's not really that serious Ari. It's just us trying to get some evidence as to your parent's killers so we can get his Dad free." Aurora responds.
' That is the thing that baffles me. My Parents has been dead for years now. Why would anyone try to spring it up? Why now?." Arianna says in bewilderment.
' I don't know. Maybe because the killer feels threatened. Or someone found out and he wants someone else to take the blame." Aurora answers.
' Maybe." Arianna replies and shrugs.
' If you guys are done with your low key detective show. Can we go in now?." Ian chirps in.
' Without lights?." Aurora asks.
' With our phone torches of course." He replies and dips his hand into his cross bag to pull out his phone then put on the torch.
' Oh! Let's go." Arianna says excitedly.
' You seem so excited." Aurora points out. She is wondering why they don't seem sacred of being in the dark or in somewhere that creepy.
' Of course I am." She replies. ' I have lived here for a while and I never discovered this place. I don't think Aunt knows about it too."She adds.
' I don't think so too. I just hope we get some evidences down there." Paul chirps in.
' Hmm hmm." Arianna hums and puts on her phone torch too followed by the others.
' Let's go!." Ian screams in a low voice excitedly.
They walk down the stairs of what seems to lead to an underground room.
' Waw! Your Dad must be so cool." Paul says, his eyes reading out the room. The old ancient artifacts there, dusty yet beautiful painting.
There are files too laying on his table.
' Ransack them guys, let's see what we can find." Ian informs and starts to search through the files, opening them one after the other. The words on most of it is fading and barely visible plus the dust keeps getting into his nose.
Paul coughs out.
' One could catch an illness from how dusty this place is." He says and holds his nose.
' I can't find anything." Arianna says tiredly.
' We just have to keep trying guys. We can't give up." Aurora replies.
' Is this your Dad?." Ian asks picking up the small sized frame in front of him laying on the table.
' Let me see." Arianna says and he turns it over to her. ' Yep, that's him. That's my old man." She adds, sadness seeping in. She misses him, them and sometimes she gets jealous whenever she sees how happy the others are with their family. She most definitely wishes she would know what that feels like again.
' He looks so cute here. Where was he here?." Aurora says, her eyes on the background.
' I don't know." She shrugs. It suddenly hit here that she knows zero percent of what her Father was like.
' Hmm." Ian hums and drops the frame back on the table ' You guys found anything?." He asks.
' No. Arianna?." Aurora replies.
' Nothing. Paul?." She responds.
No response.
' Paul you there?." Arianna calls out.
No response.
' Why isn't he answering?." Aurora asks worriedly.
' I can't find him." Arianna screams, pointing her torch around the room.
' I can't too." Aurora yells back.
They scatter and try to find him.
' Paul! Paul! Paul!." Arianna calls out.
' Paul!." Aurora calls out.
' Paul!." Ian calls out. ' Where the actual Fuck could that annoying brat be?. We have enough on our hands as it is." Ian says angrily.
' Calm down, Ian. He must be around here somewhere." Aurora replies.
' Let's just hope so." Ian responds angrily.
' Shush guys. Can you hear that?."Arianna asks.
' Hear what?." Ian asks.
' That sound." She replies.
They grow quiet trying to figure out what sound she is talking about.
' Sounds like Paul's voice." Aurora says.
' Hmm hmm." Arianna hums.
' Paul!." Aurora calls out.
' I'm here." Comes the whisper.
' Where?. We can't see you." She says worriedly.
' Here, behind the closed door." He replies.
' Which door are you talking about, Paul?. All I can see here are walls. Plain strong walls." Ian snaps angrily.
' There is door. I'm standing behind it." Paul replies.
' If this is a game then stop it." He says out of annoyance.
' It's not guys. Push the button." Paul says.
' Which one? There is no button here." Arianna replies.
' Can you guys see a picture hanging there?." He asks.
' Which?. The dog picture or the naked woman's?." Arianna asks.
' Dog's" He responds.
' Yes. Yes we see it." Aurora replies.
' Lift the picture and click the button underneath it." He informs.
They do as told as the red button comes into view.
' Here goes nothing." Ian says and presses down the button.
