Chapter 94

Arianna was shocked to say the least and they went closer to take a better look and they looked to Arianna and back at the safe. Paul quickly added her parents' wedding date. But it wasn't working and they tried everything they knew, until it occurred to them. " Why is it not opening"? Arianna said frustratingly. "Your birthday," screamed Paul genuisly. "Yes, let's try it," Aurora said . "Okay let's try it" Arianna agreed. And Aurora did the honours once more and it clicked open. "It opened", Paul said to himself impressively. "It was my birthday all along, how am I even related to all of this? Why does it seem as if I don't know who I am anymore". Thought Arianna. They started going through the files that were inside, some were of properties offshore and investments that have tripled and has been rolled over numerous times, shares and the rest. It was nothing out of the ordinary and it even gave us more insight on how wealthy Arianna's parents are. "Wow look at all these investments, you guys are stinking rich" Paul said looking at Arianna as he commented. "All this does not point us at the direction we want to go, it's not giving us a hint at who murdered Arianna's parents". Aurora said irritated at the fact that they've not gotten anywhere near the evidence. "Let's look carefully and patiently, maybe we can find something", Arianna said, finally finding her voice. They continued looking through and all they saw was the wealth amassed by Arianna's Father and business deals and the rest was just some unnecessary paperwork. It was ordinary until Aurora noticed that wall behind the safe was uneven and inside the safe feels like it was a door to another " Guys please tell me if you think I'm going crazy or something". Aurora said. Aurora started feeling around the the safe until she felt something on her hand looking for something that ought to be there but it isn't. "I found it" Aurora said feeling proud tof herself. "What is it this time around" Paul asked annoyingly. Aurora pressed a button that was in the roof of the safe and another door opened inside the safe. "Oh my good God, Father of Christ, how in earth is this possible, a safe in a safe" Paul said intrigued. " Let's check it out", Paul continued. And they found two files inside, which was carefully sealed away and thought to give Arianna so she can open it. With shaken hands Arianna opened the first folder and it looked like a will or sorts because it stated all the assets and everything her parents had, both in monetary value and assets.They were all willed to Arianna and she broke down in tears, seeing the love her parents had for her moved her to tears greatly. "Why did they have to die leaving me alone"?, Arianna questioned sobing greatly. Both Aurora and Paul hugged her tightly and they both felt her pain because if any of them had lost their parents any recently it would have broken them, talk more having their Parents murdered, both of them on the same day by an unknown killer, it would have broken them down or tore them apart leaving them broken and shattered for life. " You have to be strong Arianna, your parents would not want you crying and feeling heartbroken because of them", Paul said, uttering the most sensible word since they've been inside for a couple of hours now. "Wow, Paul, when did you grow so mature"? Aurora enquired. This made Arianna laugh because they would soon start bickering like an old couple who was tired of themselves but cannot leave or do without each other. "Come on, let's open the second file". Paul said, turning their attention to the files. On opening the files were a series of envelopes and pictures, and all these pictures are of Arianna when she was still a baby. "Awwn, so cute" Aurora gushed at the pictures of Arianna. This made Arianna blush bright pink and gave a little smile. "You are talking as if you've never seen my baby pictures before, and your baby pictures look prettier than mine, with your ruby cheeks, pink lips and little nose. You were certainly the most beautiful baby I will ever see". Arianna complimented. "So what are these pictures doing here, and how is this related to me". Arianna asked. They continued going through the pictures one after the other until they saw a pretty strange sight, it was the eye patch man carrying me and was in standing my mom as if we were one big happy family. "Look at him again" Paul said surprisingly. Why is this man holding you and taking a picture with your Mom"? "Why's your Dad not there"? Aurora said lowly as if she was talking to herself. "I don't know why I keep getting this strange feelings that this man is closer to me than it seems". Arianna said. They continued looking through and they began opening letters one after the other and it seemed as if they were all directed to Arianna's mom and it seemed as if her Mom and this Peterson guy were more than just friends and it's confirmed that they were lovers and they were really in love with each other. "He really was your mom's boyfriend or should I say lover", Paul said cheesily. They kept going through the letters until they found one addressed to Arianna's Dad telling him that the child belonged to him and he will be back to reclaim what was his. "Which child are they referring to"? Aurora asked, clearly confused. The next envelope they opened hit them like a brick. They never expected it, not in their wildest imagination, it was never expected. "A D.N.A test results on Arianna"Aurora read out. "Why would your parents carry out a test as such in you?", Aurora questioned. "Was your Mom cheating on your Dad, was that the reason the test was carried out?" Paul asked. Arianna was looking more confused than she was when she entered the room to search for evidence and now everything she has known her whole life was falling apart. Her parents lied to her, or never bothered to tell her the truth of the situation and she has to find out all by herself that she may or may not be the child of her Father whom she loved so dearly. The Father who she knows as her own, the man who taught her everything she knows, right from horse riding to fencing and fishing. She couldn't believe her eyes and she concluded in her heart that she would look for Peterson and he would explain what the letters mean.
