Chapter 117

I couldn't decide if our meeting with the wizard was successful or not. Judging from everything he said about me and Laura being strong together, I already knew that there would be many challenges that would come up and we should be ready. 'Why do I feel unsatisfied about this?" I wondered to myself and hoped Laura was satisfied with it. It wasn't showing facially that she was happy with how things turned out. I couldn't stop staring intently at Laura's face and keep wondering what was going on in her mind. She was way ahead of us. I was with the Aloha and Damien who was talking about how unclear the wizard was and how it would have been better if he was specific and clear with his words. 'What do you think?" Damien asked Alpha Logan after making his point. 'Well, all I can say is that he has been doing this for a long time, so he has a good reason for not making anything clear right now but all I can say is that everything would make sense when it was time for it to." Alpha Logan explained. I wondered if he had so much faith still even when the wizard couldn't heal his mother. 'I understand how your friend feels. She was expecting a more specific answer but she got nothing like she expected. I understand that, I have been in that situation once so I know how it feels, all I can say is that she should believe and the way it'll happen, she'll marvel at it." It honestly sounded like motivational speech to us but he believed it was nothing like it. Alpha Logan was smiling wholeheartedly at us when we got into the carriage. It was total silence throughout our ride in the carriage. Once or twice, the Alpha would try to talk about how rough the road was or how funny the weather was acting. It was all in a bud to engage us in a conversation but we only had one word answers. When we got to the Palace, Laura rushed to her room in order to avoid the chit chat that might happen. I went after her and met her packing her bags. 'What are you doing?" 'Packing. Aren't we leaving Today? Before evening?" 'We should but I don't think we are." I told her and knelt beside her. She was all serious and bent over, packing. 'You're not really in the right frame of mind to travel." 'What do you mean?" She asked and continued packing, trying to avoid my eyes. 'I'm good." 'You're not. Your hands are shaking." I told, trying to calm her down by holding her hands. 'She stopped, then took a deep breath. 'What I don't understand is why they aren't making a move to look for me. She turned to me. 'Why? I keep hearing that maybe they are and I'm not aware but I have lived in stormclaw for a long time. Why didn't I ever see any of them in search of me?" 'The truth is we can never figure out these questions on our own, that's why we need to listen to the Wizard. I'm sure what he said is going to turn out to be the truth." 'But he said nothing about my parents. He only encouraged me to follow you on and on." 'I know this feels like you're going on a path that you're not sure of but I understand if you want to give it up now.. ' 'I have told you numerous times that I'm not going anywhere. It seems you really want to get rid of me." 'I promise you, I don't want to ever get rid of you. I just want to do things that'll make you comfortable, I want to see you happy. Happiness is what I want for you." I pushed her in for a hug abruptly and we stayed like that for a few minutes. 'You need some food, I presume." I said to her. 'I just don't want you to over think it. According to the Alpha, the Wizard is a strong one and I think we should just follow his instructions, exactly the way he said. I'm sure it would all work out for us in the end." I tried to cajole Laura so she could come out of her bad moods. We spent the day at Blackwood Park and decided to leave the next day. I was grateful to the Alpha for welcoming us but I knew our time was coming to an end here. 'Where next are you guys headed to?" The Alpha had called me to ask when he heard that we were soon leaving. 'I really don't know." I said to him. The truth was that I was trying to be careful. Alpha Logan night still not be on our side even after the promise he had made so we had to be careful in giving out delicate information like this." 'I called you here because I felt 8 needed to give you some advice." He said, taking a deep breath. 'Go on." I urged him. 'Lucas would visit me expecting to see your friend's bodies and your beat up self but he won't. He might really get angry if I tell him what happens. He'll flare up in anger and would threaten to deal with me." Alpha Logan had a straight face as he went on. I listened attentively because I knew exactly where he was trying to head to. The truth was that Lucas was a very cruel man who thinks of no one else but himself. If and when he finds out that Alpha Logan is now on my side, he'll want to fight him too. 'I'm saying this because I know Lucas well enough. I know how he can be, I know how cruel he could be. He'll try to fight me but won't do much so he'll turn to you since you're a much easier prey to feed on. I'm saying all of this because I want you all to be careful. I was thinking that probably sending two warriors with you guys would at least keep you away from every danger." He paused to listen and hear what I had to say. It was a meeting with Luna too since they were trying to give me a measure that could help me stay safe. The thought of having two warriors was nice, I also knew if I asked for a thousand warriors, because the Alpha felt indebted, he would give them to me but I realized that was not my purpose.
