Chapter 108
I was extremely confused when the Alpha had told me okay without any resistance. I was still trying to understand what he meant by okay. Did he know what okay meant?
'Okay? What do you mean by that?"
'Can you tell your friend to let us eat since we were at the table? I'll make sure to answer all your questions when we are done please. This is in honor of my mother." He was still speaking when the Luna joined us looking all beautiful. I couldn't even recognize her anymore.
We all stood up in respect to welcome her in our midst, she nodded with a smile and sat down, then we followed too. She was now dressed in one of her majestic attire and had light make up on. Laura and Damien couldn't stop staring because she looked so different from what we saw minutes ago.
'I'm so grateful to you all for helping me." The Luna said. She seemed like a quiet talker seeing the way she picked her words. 'I would have never seen tomorrow if you didn't come right on time. The maids have told me how you came for help and ended up helping us. I am so grateful and I will never forget this gesture.
'She's the one to thank." Laura said immediately and I raised up my hands in defeat.
'We did it together."
With a warm smile, the Luna welcomed us again and we ate well for the first time in a while. We could literally ask for anything and they would serve us.
'Mother, I'm so happy you're looking this beautiful again. It's been a while and I haven't seen you this happy."
'Me too, thank you for your help. You never gave up on me even when it looked like nothing was working on me, the drugs, the herbal oil, you used all just to save me. I'm very proud and glad to have a son like you that I could depend on."
Mother and son made everyone teary on the dining table. The feelings they displayed reminded me so much of my mother and the times we have fallen out with each other but still get back together, no matter what.
It was really a soothing feeling to know that you have someone that can take care of you, someone that can love you, someone that can always stand for you. I never had biological siblings smile growing up but the girls made my stay in the palace worthwhile. They made my childhood worth it, now I could look back and smile.
I was happy that it all finally worked. I was really scared when I was the only one who administered the drug on her. Several questions went through my head as I kept wondering what would happen if I fail. The thought of failing and getting killed in a strange land went through my head severally but I didn't let it overwhelm me.
After eating, we all sat in the throne room to talk about the important stuff.
'Once again, thank you for helping my mother." He said genuinely thankful. 'And because you kept to your own side of the deal, I am going to offer you support and help you grow your army."
'I was glad when I heard that there were certain questions I had to ask or it wouldn't make sense.
'Does this mean that you are no longer on Lucas' side?"
'Exactly." He nodded. 'I'll keep to my word and help you build your army. Remember that I had sworn to even give half of my land to the person who heals my mother and you did it. So you can ask for anything and I'll do it for you."
This sounded so great. I glanced at Laura and Damien and they didn't look too excited to receive gifts from a man who could have killed us if his mother wasted another second in waking up.
It said so much about the way people were and how their lives are.
'What if Lucas comes asking why you rejected him even after agreeing to help him. How sure are you that you'll stand on the world that you gave us?" Laura asked, staring at the Alpha.
She was right and her questions were valid. An Alpha like this could turn on you at the last minute when you've put so much trust in him.
This time around, his mother signaled him to keep quiet while she spoke.
'I know my son had come off as rude, unreliable and wicked when you came here, o know about that but I only want to plead with you and ask you to forgive him. I am not speaking on his behalf, I'm only trying to make you understand the kind of person he is." She paused to take a breath.
'Ever since I got so sick, he has looked for solutions everywhere. Everywhere we visited they would progress.ise him that I would get better but yet after everything, nothing changed in fact I got worse by the day. So he became agitated and rude. I know I do not have the right to give excuses for him but my son can be good if he wants to be, so I hope you can trust him just like he trusted you to heal me and I promise you that he will not fail."
It was a long talk from the Luna but I still don't believe her. We have heard wide and far about Blackwood Park and even though we've never met the Alpha, it was a Park no one had anything good to speak off.
'First, on the matter of us asking whatever we want, I'll let my friends speak." I said, signaling Laura and Damien.
'I really don't think I want anything from you. All I can ask you to do is to stop killing innocent men and women. I haven't heard one good story about this land and that's too bad."
I was proud of Laura when she said those words. When we were asked to mention anything we wanted and it would be offered to us, I thought she would ask for food or any other fancy thing she liked but she made me proud.
I then turned to Damien and he said. 'All I can ask of you is to keep to your words and do what Laura said. That's all."
I almost wanted to shed tears, these two were the best help I could have. I could see the proud look on the Luna's face.
