Chapter 107
I requested for some gloves so I could rub the mixture I had prepared on her body. I was given new gloves, then I took charge. As I put the mixture on her body, I made short prayers.
I could feel the piercing eyes of the Alpha and everyone in the Palace on me. I was as anxious as every one of them but they all looked up to me. After I had used the mixture on her, I closed my eyes deep and waited.
'Is that it? Why are you sitting there staring. Is something wrong?"
'No, we'll wait." I responded while still meditating.
'Wait for what exactly?" He asked and when no one answered him, he flared up instantly. 'Are you supposed to wait for magic?
I didn't give an answer because I was confused too. If the healing oil was going to work, it should have started. I tried to remember how long it took Diane to heal a sick man but all I could remember was that it was instant.
'If you are just going to sit there, I think it's better you sit it out in prison or you'd prefer you head on a tray just like your friend suggested."
'No, let's give it time." Laura suggested.
'Another excuse from your lousy friend?" The Alpha was tensed and couldn't wait any longer. He stood up from his throne and paced up and down. 'Nothing yet?"
There was silence in the Palace as I stared at the sick woman, she had not even as much as moved her body since I had used the oil on her.
'Grab them. They're head will be on a tray thus instant." There was a mixture of pain, tears and regret in his voice. I know that in as much as he didn't want any false hope about his mother's health, he really hoped she would get up and move.
Instantly, they grabbed us and tied our hands behind our back just like earlier when we entered the park.
'Ouch." Laura cried.
'I'm sorry." I said to them, feeling guilty for what has happened here. I remember urging them to come to Blackwood Park and now we were goingbto loose out lives because I couldn't do a simple thing.
'You didn't do anything wrong.." Laura was saying but got interrupted by the Alpha's chuckle.
'Are those your last words? You should all make it.."
'Look, the Luna!" There was a scream by one of the Palace maids who had caught her moving. 'She's moving, she's moving." She jumped up in happiness.
Everyone froze and gazed at her. She was indeed moving. She was trying to say something but was too weak to say anything. I stared at the Alpha who was in so much shock that he didn't even move.
'Untie me." I screamed at the warriors and they did instantly. I rushed to the Luna and checked her temperature and discovered that the disgusted boils on her gave were all disappeared already.
I couldn't belive it myself but it was there, there was no sign that she'd been sick ever. I knelt down beside her litter and I could hear her make sounds.
'Slowly. Don't force it. You'll be able to talk in no time." I told her and held her hands I was filled with joy and happiness as I looked up to the Alpha. 'Your mother is healed, come see for yourself." I watched him walk towards me slowly with so much shock on his face.
I give him some space as he knelt behind his mother and took her hands. 'Mother, is this you?"
'She's still trying to speak, give her a little time." I said so he could hear me.
'I'm so glad that you're alive. I have done literally everything I could do but still nothing ever worked. I have lost hope. I didn't know what to do, I didn't know how to react. I was always angry.." The Alpha tried so hard to hold back his tears. He was no longer the cruel Alpha we met earlier. 'I just miss you badly."
'I miss you too." The Luna said with her weak voice and everyone jumped up in joy.
'Hey you. What are you still waiting for? Untie us." Laura screamed and ordered the warrior beside her. It was clear that our heads were not going to be on a tray, at least not today. The Alpha helped his mother up and suddenly they were screams of joy and excitement throughout the land.
People weren't allowed into the Palace according to what I knew but the Palace was opened and the members of Backwood trouped in to see for themselves what they heard. It was exciting to see that they had all come to see the people who healed the Queen. I was grateful to Diane and my mother, they made this possible.
When Luna was taken into her inner chambers to go change, we were ushered into the dining by the Alpha who was happy to dine with us. I wasn't really hungry and I knew Laura and Damien would agree with me that they wouldn't want to eat from his plate too.
'We are grateful for your hospitality but we made a deal and that's all we want to talk about." I said as we sat on the dining table with exquisite dishes in front of us.
'I want you guys to eat and enjoy because you deserve it. So please." He spread his hands to us. It was indeed tempting but we couldn't bring ourselves to trust him.
He smiled at us and signalled that a spoon be given to him. He took a sip of the soup and ate a big Chunk of the meat then waited until he had swallowed. 'See, there's nothing in the food, I can ask the cook to taste it if you don't trust me."
Laura glanced at me, then I knew she couldn't hold it, she was hungry but I wanted us to establish something before we could eat.
'Let's talk about the reason why we came her in the first place, then we can decide if we'll eat or not." I stood my ground and he laughed.
'I like you. You're strong headed and focused." He pointed out, then dropped his fork to talk. This time he wasn't smiling, it was time for business.
'So you want me to help you build an army by joining your force?"
'Yes." I nodded, expecting some resistance since he had already given his word to Lucas but nothing came.
'Okay. Can we now eat?"
