Chapter 115
When it suddenly started raining, we all turned to each other in shock.
'Do you believe me now when I say that he would really help you guys. Don't you believe me?" Aloha Logan asked no one in particular. It all looked like he said it was true but we were present.
When we left the Palace, I was so sure that I wouldn't experience any rainfall but now the rain was falling like there was no tomorrow.
'Oh, no. We'll be drained in the rain. My dress!" Laura exclaimed.
'No. He won't let us walk under the rain." Alpha Logan replied, confidently. He was speaking of the Wizard and was implying that the rain will stop when we get there. We were literally dancing in the carriage because of how bumpy and rough the road was.
There were pathways and cracks on different parts of the road that caused us to dance as we rode in the carriage. I was still trying to understand everything the Alpha has been saying about this wizard but I still couldn't.
'How is it that he is as powerful as you say but yet we haven't heard of him, like ever." Damien asked
'The truth remains that jokes about his privacy and would never jeopardize it for anything. He believed that 5he moon goddess sent people to him. He doesn't believe that someone would wake up and just meet him without being sent by the moon goddess.
I was not such a spiritual person, I was logical but I tried to see how all of these were all prepared by the moon goddess. Was she aware that we were at Blackwood Park or was it just the stories people told?
No one said anything the whole time for the rest of the journey. I simply looked out of the window still wondering if it was magic I had experienced about the weather earlier or if truly it was nature.
As we kept going the road became more and more hideously difficult to pass through. It now seemed like we had entered a forest with overgrown grasses and the scent of moist sand.
'We are in the forest now?" I asked him.
'Yes, very close to where we should be."
'You mean we are close by?" Laura, who was formally engrossed in the book she had picked up in the carriage, now threw the book aside and looked out through the window too.
Finally a little hut came into view and the carriage stopped abruptly as I watched the little hut from the carriage wondering that if he was so powerful as the Alpha claimed, then he shouldn't still be struggling with finding a more lucrative and inexpensive place to stay.
'The rain has stopped." Laura announced and I let my arm out of the carriage and it was entirely true.
'How did that happen? How?" Damiem asked, looking out the window but still not getting a good look.
'And look.. the sun is out again." None of anything she said was wrong. It only bothered me that everything was happening fast if not, this was a beautiful sight to behold.
'If you so much want to see them, you can get down and look all you want. Soon, we'll be leaving for the Wizard's Palace. ' Aloha Logan said.
'Hut. You meant the Wizard's hut." I said to Alpha correcting him thinking he had made a mistake when instead I was the wrong one. What I could see was a hut, a tiny and terrible looking hut. I wondered why he had called it a Palace.
'Why do Wizard's live in such places away from people and everything, just living among trees and leaves?" Laura asked me as we looked around the forest and then went to check out the environment while the king spoke to the driver.
'What do you think?" Laura whispered to me.
'About what?" I stared at her, totally confused about what she was asking.
'I mean we can trust the Alpha right?"
'Yes, we can but we still need to be careful. We are the only ones going with him to see the wizard, so there's no way he can defeat 3 of us if he even decides to fight us." I then added that according to the Alpha himself, there was no way he'll try to kill us in a Wizard's home, that was like an abomination unless the Wizard was in too.
I didn't want to scare Laura too much about what could happen or what might not. I always needed her to be this excited.
'Let's go." The Alpha signaled us when he had already signaled the driver to wait for us.
As we walked down the hill that separated us from the hut, I looked around to see the clear weather that was so different from what it seemed for the last 30 minutes.
'Let's walk slowly. This place is dangerous." Damien told us, pointing out the place we should probably not step on. He was such a great companion, the best, actually.
Soon we were at the entrance of the hut and we pushed the door opened, the Alpha leading the way.
'Why is it dark?"
'Keep walking." The Alpha screamed after himself. 'Don't Worry about that."
Even though we couldn't see properly where we were walking to, we didn't let it bother us, we just let it be. Then suddenly we came to a room which was so lit that we could see everything.
'Wow." I gasped. There was really nothing special about the room except that I could see the fresh skin of a lion dripping blood. Then in the room with symbols and materials I couldn't understand what it was used for.
Cotten? Why does a Wizard need one? I wondered but still afraid to touch anything. Laura was already stretching out her hands to touch a monument that looked like a dog when I hit her hands and she groaned in pain.
'Ouch."
'Don't touch anything.''Alpha Logan warned us immediately and we stopped having even the smallest thought of touching any statue or symbol here.
'Why have we been walking you for 5 minutes? I thought we entered a hut, it's been minutes we've been walking. Does it mean that this place is actually bigger than it looked?"
'I noticed too." Laura said and stopped. 'I see a light at that corner. Is that someone singing?"
'Singing?" Damien wondered, he was already charged with his weapon in case it was dangerous ahead but the Alpha stopped him.
'It's okay, bring down your weapon."
