Chapter 113
The Alpha had a meeting he needed to attend so we had to wait for him to be done. As we waited outside, a guard came telling us that the Luna wanted to see us. I thought she would be at the throne room with her son but they led us to the kitchen.
The kitchen was one in a million, it was beautifully designed, all the equipment in the right place where it should be. As I entered the kitchen, I was struck by the wonderful arrangement that was made. The walls and the finely designed kitchen floor was designed with great stuff.
'Thank Goodness, you guys made it." The Luna gasped when we entered the kitchen to find her making food.
'You called for us." Damien responded, watching her.
Before we entered, we were hit with the nice aroma of Pancakes and bacon, It got my stomach grumble.
'I suspected that you guys might be hungry so I decided to make pancakes for you guys. I hope I was right and you guys are hungry."
'Yes, I'm actually very famished." I couldn't stop myself anymore, I just had to admit it which made Laura and Damien laugh at me. 'What?"
'If it was me, you would tease me about how I eat a lot." Laura answered and she was right. She was a big foodie and old, literally fighting for food if she could.
'But I'm so much better than you. I'm only hungry today but you are always hungry even if you have eaten like 2 minutes ago. Sometimes, I wonder what I should feed you so you don't end up eating us all."
'It shouldn't be that bad." The Luna answered.
'It isn't, she's just exaggerating everything he's saying." Laura replied.
'I made you guys my world's favorite pancakes. I can promise you that my pancakes are the best, literally." The Luna said and I thought that was a proud claim.
'Hmm. What makes you say so?" I asked her because I was sure I have heard those words before and I have justified it too.
'My pancakes are the world's best." She repeated, knowing fully well by the look on my face that I was ready to argue with her.
'I doubt that because my mum makes the world's best pancakes." I said.
'I doubt that. It's good that I have proof here." She answered and went on to turn the other side of the pancakes. They were ones she had already made and stacked in the plates.
'Get seated, all of you." She told us, offering us seats and asking us to make ourselves comfortable. 'I believe you guys must have eaten her mother's Pancakes too?"
'Yes." Laura answered, she was literally jumping up when she heard that there was a lot to eat and it sounded more like a competition with Luna trying to beat my mother.
'I'm almost done, just a little sprinkle here and there and you'll be served.
Soon, the Luna was done and she served us on different plates and sat watching us eat it. She put five pancakes with fried eyes on everyone's plate. At first, we were in silence as everyone tried out the pancakes. My first bite was satisfying, the Pancake literally melted in my mouth. I was still contemplating if she was better than my mum when I caught Laura and Damien staring at each other and nodding.
They were enjoying the pancakes and from the look of things, I believe they would end up saying that the Luna's pancakes were better than my mother's.
'So? What do you think?" The Luna was eager to hear from us. 'What do you think?"
'Hmm." I joked, I could see she was going to have a heartache without a positive answer. I glanced at Laura who was enjoying the pancakes and I came to the conclusion that it was really good.
'You're killing me with your silence." She urged us where she had sat and literally watched us finish the pancakes.
'It's very nice. Very nice." Laura replied.
'So?"
'We can't compare it though you are really good at this, how did you learn to make it perfect like this?" I asked her, genuinely interested in learning how to make it. My mother would be very proud when she learns that I could make Pancakes better than her if possible.
Whenever she made some in the Palace, she would brag so much and blame me for not being as homely as she was so I often wondered if being homely and respectful had anything to do with Pancakes.
Damien also confirmed that the pancakes were really good. This was the first time he was eating pancakes after such a long time. 'We had forgotten it existed as a meal." Damien laughed and we joined him.
After the time we spent in the kitchen, we were now sure that the Alpha was done with his meetings and was waiting for us. I was tired of referring to him as just the Alpha so I made a Northern step in trying to find out his name.
'I noticed that we still don't know Alpha's name."I told my friends as we were coming out from the kitchen while the Luna had stayed back to clean up with her maids helping her.
'That's true. I haven't actually thought about that." Laura said.
'Is that really necessary?"
'Might not really be important to us now but it's necessary for future use."
'Do you think he'll tell us if we ask him?" Laura asked.
'Well, he sounded very nice when I came to meet him this morning for you so I do believe that it's not going to be a big deal for him to tell you his name.
'I'm sorry, my friends, that I kept you waiting." He apologized when we entered. 'Something very serious came up and I had to handle it." He chucked and nodded his head. 'Being an Alpha isn't an easy job."
I agreed with him. I was not an Alpha and was not planning on being one at least since I was not a male but as a leader, I knew it wasn't easy. At a point, it would feel like you had the weight of the whole world on your shoulders especially when the people expect so much from you while you have so little to give back to them.
This quest could be used as an example. Lots of people were expecting that I would bring back whole armies of warriors that would fight with us and defeat Lucas once and for all.
