Chapter 118

This was my quest, mine alone and the only people allowed to go with me on this quest are people that are willing and not people who are ordered to go with me. I understood the fact that everyone had their life to live to the fullest so I had no fight to take away life from people just because I have the authority or opportunity to do so. I cleared my throat as I was about to speak. 'I really appreciate thirsting with you both. It's really nice to know that you have people who really care, not just because they feel indebted but because that's who they are." I paused, then continued. 'When I started this quest, I was angry, upset and afraid. Angry and upset because I kept wondering why it had to be me, why me? Afraid because I didn't know how to face the challenges. I'm saying this because it's only going to make things worse on my side if you have to order or force who doesn't want to on me. That'll be very unfair." 'You don't have to overthink it. That's why they are warriors and work for the Alpha, they do what the Alpha wants and they'll keep you safe incase Lucas has other plans which I know he is capable of." Truly, Lucas was capable of other plans, he was one who would never give up until he wins and I have also learnt to be like him in that aspect. Never give up until I win. This quest, whatever it is called, went from meaning nothing to being everything I think about daily. People put their hopes in me, so why should I fail them? Why? 'I want you to understand that Lucas can't stop me from whatever I'm going to do so you don't have to be worried about that at all. I'll get over this. You were the one who made me believe in fate, you made me figure out that everything that happens in life happens for a reason so I think that the reason why I'm even in this situation is because I have a purpose which I have to fulfill." They didn't understand me yet they didn't push the topic too. They tried to understand where I was coming from and I was happy that they weren't going to force their will down my throat. 'I just want to let you know that in addition to helping you grow your army, whenever you need help, don't ever hesitate to tell me, I'll help you in the best way that I can. Both of us." She said, referring to her son. It was soothing speaking to them. After that I retired to my bedroom to have a quick rest. I had made sure Laura was sleeping so she could have the strength for tomorrow. Damien was good, he was having some conversation with the warriors about some warrior talk. As I lay on my bed facing the ceiling, my thoughts randomly went to Alpha Logan and wondered if he had a wife or a woman in his life. Ever since we came, I had never seen a woman who had introduced herself as his wife or concubine. 'Why does it matter to you?" I asked myself when I realized that I was thinking about it so much. I let that thought die and tried to put myself to sleep but I couldn't not when I had a lot on my mind. I had asked Damien, our next stop and he had told me that he'll find it before tomorrow so I'll just wait for tomorrow morning when I get the news. 'Wake up, Naomi. Wake up." Was I dreaming? Everywhere was dark but suddenly, I could see light and then a face above me, showing me gently then aggressively. 'Naomi, wake up." It sounded like Laura's voice but why would she be shiving to wake me up when I was already awake and I was dreaming. 'Lucas is here, we need to leave." 'Lucas?" My eyes were finally opened when I heard those words, I woke up, looked around and discovered we were still in Blackwood Park in my room, on top of my bed. I then realized that I must have slept off. 'Lucas?" 'Yes. Wake up, please." I didn't need to be begged as I literally jumped up from the bed. 'How did that Happen?" I asked Laura who was shivering and on the verge of crying. 'I think he found out we were here and was waiting to see our bodies, lifeless, except yours, that is." Laura replied as I ran to pack my bags. 'Where's Damien?" I asked. She had also come to help me pack too. I was still looking for an answer when the door opened instantly and it was Luna. 'You need to run far because Lucas is here and soon he'll find out that you guys are alive. He'll ask for you, Naomi so you need to go, now." She clapped her hands quietly, urging to stand and leave immediately. Soon my bags were already packed. 'Take care of yourselves and don't forget us. Your friend is waiting downstairs, I showed him a path you can take through the back door." She told us and hugged us goodbye. 'Take care of yourself, don't let Lucas hurt you." I said to Jr and with Laura dragging me, we left for the huge back at the back of the Palace. I was straining my ears to hear Lucas but the voice I heard was unfamiliar. I guess he came with some friends too. We didn't stop running through the back door till we got to where Damien was waiting for us. 'Finally. I was starting to think that they got up with you guys." Damien said and led the way. 'The Luna said there's a lonely path here that leads to the main forest and we could find our way." I was still trying to catch my breath as we walked. 'My heart is beating so hard." I said and they turned to me. 'I'm sorry about that.." Laura was going to apologize for waking me up and giving me a heartache but it was not like it's her fault. She was only trying to help, maybe not to much but she did help. 'Don't apologize. How did you find out?" 'It was Luna who rushed into my room and whispered to me that Lucas was in the Palace, unannounced and would be leaving soon." 'Do you think he knows that we ran away?" I asked, still feeling nervous. 'Don't worry, they think we are not alive, so if the Alpha Logan can tell a good lie, I'm sure he'll believe him. The question is what will Alpha Logan say to Lucas?
