Chapter 92
We couldn't sleep over at the valley since we had enough time to do that when we got back from the Moonlight pack. Damein had made us pack after we had finished picking fruits for our long journey.
'We should be leaving." He said and we agreed. I was going to have a moment with Laura but it was cut short by Damein asking us to pack up. We said our goodbye to this beautiful valley that was the best thing we've seen so far in our journey. As we walked on, we kept on trying to move fast so we could get to The Moonlight pack before dark.
I looked at Damien and I could see he looked disturbed so I asked him what the matter was.
'What happened?"
'I think there'll be a change in weather. ' He said.
'Change in weather? What do you mean?" I asked him, quite interested in what he had to say.
'I think we'll have thunderstorms in no time so we need to find a shade as soon as possible." He looked around as he said this. I was wondering and I also that Laura was wondering how he knew things like this but it was no time for questions but a time to act very quickly.
'How far is Moonlight pack?" Laura asked, raising her voice.
'Not very far but I'm afraid the storm may catch up with us if we do not do anything about it. ' Damein said, sadly.
'I think we should at least try to find our way instead of going back to the valley." I suggested and they all agreed by nodding their heads.
'I think so too." Laura finally said and we decided to run our way to Moonlight pack because we could see the storm rising. At first, it was just a faint whisper in the air as we ran but as we progressed, it increased and grew louder so that it disturbed my ears.
I couldn't pay attention to where I was running to because of the distraction and that caused me to slack behind but Damein came back, held me by the hands and helped me run faster.
'Don't stop or look back." Damein screamed as we ran, I could barely hear him.
Then dark clouds gathered in the sky then the wind began to howl which caused a stir in my heart. I was now very much agitated and wished that we were at the Moonlight pack.
'How far are we?" I asked but it seemed that Damien couldn't hear me so I kept running.
Then suddenly, loud strikes of lightning followed, scaring me even more. I never liked storms even when I was little. Whenever there was a storm, the girls would run out to play under the rain but it was never so for me because I easily got cold and I never enjoyed playing under the sun. I didn't see the benefit of doing that.
'We are close by." Damein said and immediately, the rain started to fall. It drenched the clothes we wore and my hair, which was nearly packed, now clung to my head and neck totally out of fashion.
'Let's run into that entrance." Damein called and we obeyed. It was a small gate but it was heavily protected and used by the people of Moonlight Park to protect them from their enemies.
There, some huge warriors who didn't seem bothered about the rain were standing with their weapons ready for a fight or whatever comes their way.
'Who are you?" The first warrior asked, immediately he set his eyes upon us.
I was already so tired of the question. We've been asked so many times who we were that it now looked like a joke.
'We have a message for the Alpha." Damein announced. We stood there shivering in the cold, when they stood there and contemplated .
'Please we are cold, can you let us in. I'm sure that your Alpha would be glad to see us." Laura said, almost pleading with the warriors who took us as jokes.
'Go on." They ushered us in but not to the Palace like we expected but to their office where they asked us to wait so the king could approve of us.
The place was small and obviously looked like an office. This was the same place they detained any werewolves who disobeyed the king or the rules of the land.
'The king won't approve of us if he doesn't know who we are. Just let us go with you, he'll be so elated to see us, I promise you."
'You can't see the Alpha today, he's too tired to see anyone currently." The second Warriors whom I believe weren't even a little bit concerned that we were drenched, said.
'Tell him that Alpha-king Magnus sent us, he'll accept us." I pleaded with the first warrior. He looked like he was kind and would help me which he did.
Later, he arrived with some new Palace clothes and jewelry.
'The Alpha said you can only see him when you are dressed decently to behold the king." He spoke with so much authority that I knew we needed to see to his instruction. We could finally breathe because he had spoken to the King on our behalf.
The storm outside was a strong one and he had promised to take us to the king, with no touch of the rain after we had dressed up. So they left us to it, first I and Laura dressed up while Damein looked away, then it was our turn to look away. In a few minutes, we were done and we called on the warriors to finally take us to the Palace to see the Alpha.
When we went outside, we found out that they had prepared a carriage for us that would take us to the Alpha. We got in but no one spoke to the other person. It was that time again when everyone was agitated and didn't know what to do.
We only nodded at each other and smiled when our eyes met. I was eager to meet this Aloha but was also anxious to know if he would accept our request.
'Don't worry, guys. Alpha-king Magnus spoke highly of this one so you have no need to be worried. We'll get there. It will end well." Daniel was trying to encourage us even though he felt sacred too.
Shortly, we got to the Palace, it was a small clan compared to every clan I knew so their Palace was equally small.
