Chapter 109

'You really have good friends." The Luna said. 'I'm happy that I have them." I responded and smiled at her. They all waited for me to say something so I went on. 'Well, I don't want anything from you. Just do as my friends have asked of you. Lucas has been out for me for a very long time and I'm still trying to figure out why he wants to ruin my life." Why does he want my life ruined? I kept asking this question but I still haven't gotten an answer yet to what I want. 'If I may ask, what really happened?" I kept quiet, I didn't know if this Aloha was good enough to be trusted but I stared at his mother and she gave me a reassuring smile so I went on. 'Well, Lucas killed my father when I was young, took me and my mother captive in his brother's Palace and left us there. First he tried to get me to get married to him but I refused and he made the king banish me from the Land. Ever since, he has been out for me and my mother, even his brother is included this time around because he didn't agree to his dirty deals." 'You mean Alpha-king Magnus?" 'Yes, you know him?" I then realized that of course they would be acquitted in some ways since it was Alpha-king Magnus that sent us to him in the first place. 'I do but back then I was friends with Lucas more than I was with him." The Alpha took a deep breath. 'I and Lucas were very good friends back then, that was why when he came to ask for my help, I didn't ask any question, I just went with the flow." 'Did he tell you the reason he needed you to join hands with him to fight Shadowcrest?" 'He only said that he wanted to possess what rightfully belonged to him. He said that someone was owning him and he wanted his payment as soon as possible." 'Owing him?" I thought outloud. 'How was I owing him? I had never sold anything to him, nor have we done any transactions before." 'When people like Lucas say that they're been owned by someone, it literally means that something must have happened even before you were born. Things like this take time to discover and find out." 'But how can I find out? It seems my mother doesn't also have an idea of what is happening with Lucas. Ever since I was born,Lucas has always been on my face. I also made encounters with them all the time while I was still in the Palace. He wants something from me and I know it." I said with so much resolution. 'That's why he doesn't want you dead." The Aloha murmured, he must have been in deep thought because he wasn't paying attention even when his mother called him. 'What?" 'What did you say?" His mother asked again louder this time. She sat there and observed him for a few seconds to find out that everything wasn't fine with him. 'It's nothing." 'Remember you promise not to keep anything going from me." The Luna nodded her head and encouraged her sin to speak and tell us all he knew. 'Well, I was afraid this won't sit well with you guys but since I have given you my word to help you. That is what I'll do." He said. 'When Lucas came here, he asked that when you guys get here that I could do anything I wanted with your friends but never touch you or lay my hands on you." 'So you were going to kill us?" 'How did you guys know that we were on our way to your park?" Damien joined. They both looked extremely shocked to find out that they would have been dead by now if things didn't turn out the way they did. 'I'm sorry to say this but Lucas was bent on eliminating you both." The Alpha spoke indicating Laura and Damien. 'Je made me promise to kill you and the kidnap and torture you." There was silence in the Palace as everyone thought of how it should have all ended. My thoughts were racing and I couldn't believe that I would have been the reason for the death of my friends. I glanced at them sitting next to each other. I could see sweats running down through Damien's face and Laura was too emotional to even look up. 'I knew this would cause a problem when I said it but I'm sorry. Like I said, Lucas was my best friend who helped me so much in the past so when he came to ask for a favor, I agreed to do it immediately without finding out what it was." Laura couldn't bear it anymore so she ran out of the Palace. I wanted to go after her but Damien stopped me and instead went after her. I had to finish up with my discussion so I could go talk to my friends. I glanced at the Luna and I could see the look of disgust on her face as she stared at her son. She was also as disappointed as I was at the Alpha. He was going to kill innocent people without even knowing the reason why. 'I'm sorry." He said with his face bowed a bit then he looked up. 'Lucas wants you and your land. I don't have the answer yet but this is what I'm truly sure of you. You need to protect yourself and your friends from him. I will keep to my orifice of standing by you." He nodded at me. He was still the same Alpha we had met hours ago when we had come to see him but now, there was something different about him, he had this look in his eyes that showed compassion and I truly felt that he wasn't faking it. If truly he would help us, then I knew we already had an edge on Lucas. Lucas has always wanted my father's land, that was why he killed my father but then why did he let me and my mother leave and even kept under his nose to watch us? There was something about the way he smiled that made me hate his guts and audacity. If Lucas ever found out that we weren't killed here, then his search for us would become aggressive and he would really come after me. The real deal was for me to protect my friends since I now know that Lucas would never hurt me but could kill my friends if he wanted.
