Chapter 72: Another One?
AARON.
I stared intently at the blue coloured creature on the floor, looking up at me with curious eyes.
You have got to be kidding me. There was no way Luna wanted me to bathe her. I mean she was….female. How long would these women embarrass me before they decide it's enough?
I sucked in a breath, and got down to business. Let's get this over with.
'Okay Tyrus. Um…" She looked up at me, wondering what I was trying to say.
How do I even say this…
I palmed my face.
This was torture. I grabbed her tiny fingers, and motioned for her to take off her clothes. She squeaked in horror, clutching her chest dramatically.
Nope. I'm not doing this. I just can't.
'Luna!" I yelled. She could find some other punishment for me. I wasn't going to do it. I heard stifled giggles from outside the door.
So they thought this was funny. Luna and Helena walked back in through the door, with amused expressions on their faces.
'Did you get it on camera?" Luna said, still laughing. Helena giggled even more, pulling out her phone.
On the screen, it showed me trying my best not to slip up. I didn't want Tyrus to blind me. At a point the camera zoomed closer to my face, and away from Tyrus. The way my expressions changed from confused to determined to helpless made even me laugh.
Men are truly suffering.
'I'll do anything else just…not this." I muttered, feeling kinda…ashamed.
Luna laughed even harder. 'You weren't actually supposed to do it, you dimwit. We were testing you." She said, picking up Tyrus from the bathtub.
'You must've really been sorry." Helena added, her face still filled with amusement.
Of course I was.
Sheesh.
'Go on. You've been forgiven. Just watch your tongue next time. Don't let your emotions get the best of you." Luna said, and they both chased me out of her room.
'Time to actually give her a bath."
They shut the door, still giggling. I felt like a guinea pig at this point. I sighed, and returned to the living room, going over the events of the last few days.
The restaurant was busier than ever, and I couldn't help but feel even more helpless. Mrs. Parker hasn't returned to the office since then, and as such, a lot of things were in disarray.
Helena seemed a lot….better.
She didn't have any more nightmares, and I was grateful for that. It hurt me every time I saw her afraid.
Those two women spent a lot of time in Luna's room, and I got bored.
I got up and decided to take a walk. It had been an awfully long while.
The cool night air rushed into my skin the moment I stepped outside. I took in a deep breath, and exhaled. 'That's the stuff."
The moon was full, and it filled my veins with primal energy. The silvery glow of light on the forest was almost magical. I set out, deciding to take a walk on the streets instead of inside the woods. Anything could be lurking there.
The streets were empty, well of course they were, it was 2am, but I couldn't shake off this eerie feeling. There was an ominous aura around these parts, and it gave me the chills.
Regardless, I continued my walk, my mind drifting into different dimensions. I needed to pay a visit back to Lunaville. Enough is enough.
Luna, Helena, and I had planned a trip to the beach this weekend, and I couldn't wait for….
There it was again.
My senses heightened, and I whirled around. Someone was watching me. All the hairs on the back of my neck stood up, and my claws extended without warning.
Maybe coming out this late wasn't such a good idea. I rounded a corner, and the chilling feeling got worse. I squinted my eyes at a strange apparition towards the end of the street. Eventually, the apparition materialized, confirming my fears.
It was a demon.
The scary part was, it wasn't the demon I knew. This one looked a lot more deadly, a lot more sinister, hungry, and malevolent. Something about it made me wish the ground would open up and take me.
The demon noticed my presence and snarled. Without much time, it lunged at me with crazy speed. I barely managed to dodge, my reflexes kicking into top gear.
The fight was relentless. I couldn't even understand who this demon was and what he wanted. But I knew one thing, he wouldn't stop until I was dead. And I wasn't about to let that happen.
The demon clawed at my sides, my swift movements making his attacks nothing more than scratches.
But soon enough, the creature began to predict my movements, and started launching more precise attacks. 'You're strong for a wolf," the demon snarled. 'but not strong enough." It flashed a row of razor sharp teeth and raked into my sides.
Everything paused for a moment. I glanced down at my ribs, adrenaline filling my blood. I stumbled forward. The pain was intense, something I hadn't felt before. I almost fell to the floor. An entire chunk of my ribs had been ripped out.
'You really think you can defeat me? Little wolf?" the demon taunted, voice laced with contempt. He dived straight into me, sending me crashing straight into a pole.
I gritted my teeth. I couldn't let him win, but I knew I couldn't defeat him either. This was fucked up.
I held my ripped out sides and stumbled to my feet. I had to survive. I muttered something under my breath, something I couldn't decipher.
The demon laughed sinisterly. 'You have will. I like it. But you won't last long." He came at me again.
I felt a sudden rush of energy. My eyes glowed bright green, and I could feel my strength returning, multiple times over. The demon's eyes flashed with surprise, and he grinned, aiming his claws at my throat.
Not today buddy.
I released the energy that had built up inside me, knocking the demon back a few feet.
The demon growled lowly at my sudden display of power. 'What…..what in the devil's name is this?" He looked at his hands dramatically.
He was momentarily distracted, so I used the moment to my advantage. I unleashed a final desperate attack, sinking my teeth into the material that made up his bone.
He howled in pain and rage, and knocked me off. He retreated into the night, leaving me breathless and gasping for breath. I fell to the ground, my vision blurry. I was happy. I was alive.
I laid there for a while, gathering strength before staggering home. The daylight was starting to seep in through the clouds, and I began to scold myself.
Don't go out at night, I refused to listen.
Listen to your inner wolf, I didn't listen.
The little fella actually warned me about leaving the house that time, but I ignored him, thinking it was totally fine.
But here I was, battered and bruised, staggering towards another set of punishments. I wondered how Helena would feel when she saw me like this.
My ribs hurt badly, and I could barely breathe. That demon really meant business. I finally caught sight of the farmhouse, and determination guided me through the last few steps. The atmosphere was relaxed, quiet. Unlike what I had just experienced.
The living room lights were still on, and I caught sight of Luna and Helena's forms sitting on the couch, talking in hushed tones.
I pushed open the front door, collapsing on the ground the moment I was in. The darkness I had been fighting since the demon left overtook my consciousness, and I completely let it in.
