CHAPTER FORTY-TWO
Rohan's father is trying to gather more evidence against alpha Dickson because he suspects that he is trying betray the pack. He doesn't like the fact that his sixth sense is tingling with a bad feeling on the matter.
He has known Dickson to be a weasel and a snake but to the point of killing thousands of people for his selfish reasons is just plain wrong, it was obvious that he didn't care a bit for this pack and was only interested in the benefits of being an alpha.
He has no regards for the things happening here and for the people, why should he? He has warriors protecting his back and he travels to meet with other alphas in the supernatural realm. Why should he be bothered to care about his pack?
He had a mission and Patrick was going to do all he could to expose him and protect his family from this monster. Today he planned a council meeting between the elders of the pack because he needed to bring this to their notice and ask for guidance and also to make them aware of that their precious alpha was going to do to them if they were not careful and vigilant of his activities.
He has talked to his wife about this and she gave him the go ahead to call for the meeting, he has tried to be discreet where his children were involved and so far he has succeeded, but he needed to have a solution ready for his children just out of necessity if his plans don't go according to plan.
His family came first and would always be important to him, it was the sole reason why he was pursuing this in the first place. It was in order to protect his children and the entire family from whatever Dickson was planning.
'Hey honey, I am off!" I said to Penelope.
'Good luck sweetheart, knock them dead" she shouted from the kitchen.
'Thanks" I said happily before heading out of the house. I had all my facts ready to battle, they were going to see Dickson for who he really is, a snake.
I hummed in my head as I headed to where they were waiting, I chose the library because it was the most secure and soundproof building in the pack. I would be able to carry out all the activities and say everything there is to say about this case, there is a particular room assigned for investigations and meetings in the pack.
I was so confident that my plans were solid proof as I walked to the library, the librarian assigned to guard the library looked a little bit shaken up. The job wasn't easy and she got to see all sorts of things like gruesome killings when the meeting doesn't go as planned.
She greeted me with a grimace on her face, I greeted her and stepped inside the library. The door to the meeting room was left open and I wondered if they already started the meeting without me.
Rude!
They couldn't have waited for me?
I got to the door and stopped my tracks, my face pulled into the expression of shock because of what I was seeing.
The shock I felt was nothing compared to what my eyes were feasting on, the abomination inside the room was enough for me to question my safety in the library right there and then.
There was dead bodies on the floor, the bodies of the former elders, the same ones I was supposed to meet.
All massacred and their hearts ripped out of their chest, their eyes were open with shock not expecting that from whoever their killer was.
What the hell happened here?
Who could have done this?
I was pissed and shocked at the same damn time because nobody else could have known about my plans, I told the elders because I needed them to be present for the meeting. They couldn't come to a meeting without knowing the reason why.
Did Dickson do this?
How did he find out in the first place?
I retraced my steps, reaching the door I met the librarian.
She schooled her expression into a blank one but I could see through her bullshit, she bad the power to let anyone in and she must know the killer judging by the sick face she had when I entered.
I stood In front of the desk and she peered up at me like she didn't know why I was standing there, normally I would entertain these little games but I was in no mood for such.
"What the hell happened in there?" I asked her with urgency in my tone.
"A...alpha Dickson" she stammered looking down.
I stopped releasing my dominance when I realized I was scaring her.
"Thank you" I said in appreciation.
I stormed out of the library in direction to the alpha's office. I was pretty pissed and just about ready to rip him apart.
He has completely ruined my plans and he had no right to kill the elders because they were coming to meet me.
I wanted to have his head all bloody in my hands as I hang his lifeless body from a pike. I hated him and after what he has done now, my hatred for him has risen to a dangerous level.
I got to his building and his beta didn't want to let me in,
"What are you doing? Get out of my way!" I barked at him.
"The alpha is not to be disturbed" he said stubbornly.
I pushed him out of the way forcefully and continued my way into the alpha's section.
I stormed into his office and barged into the door but another sight made me pause at the door.
"Hello Patrick, I have been waiting for you"...
