CHAPTER EIGHTY-TWO
Vladimir's pov
I was in my father's room, we always had private conversations in here instead of the normal room where people could overhear our conversations. I have been home for five days now and had to drag my father out to talk to me.
He heard the urgency in my voice and quickly led us here so we could talk better.
'What is it Vladimir? Where is this mate of yours?" he asked all at once.
'Slow down father, there is something I missed when I told you I found my mate." I told him.
He sealed his lips immediately, waiting for me to tell him what it is.
'What I forgot to tell you is that my mate is a werewolf" I said.
The room became colder than it was when I came in, his face shut down from shock, his eyes suddenly looked sad and downcast.
'Father, are you alright?" I asked him when minutes passed and he still didn't say anything.
He ignored me, he took a seat on his sofa and put his face in his hands and breathed into them.
'We have a problem" he said gravelly.
'I know that father, I know" I replied.
'Why didn't you tell me?" he asked.
'Would it have mattered?" I questioned him.
'I guess not, what do you intend to do?" he asked me.
'I don't know, I was hoping you could help me by telling me who Konstantin is and where I can find him." I told him.
He looked up immediately and with a speed I never knew he possessed, he had his hand over my mouth in an attempt to keep me from talking.
He listened and made sure nobody was around to hear it and let go.
'Never say that name out loud! How do you know about him?" he asked me.
'I read about him in the journals but there isn't more information since all the pages have been torn out" I told my father.
He nodded in satisfaction and sat down once again, he heaved a sigh this time a heavy one.
'I ripped out those pages" he confessed.
'You did what?!" I exclaimed in surprise.
'I only did it because Konstantin made me promise to protect his child from those coming from her, do you know the wonders it would be having a hybrid to be in your pack or clan?" he asked me.
I shook my head at him but I understood at the same time, he was tagged a traitor and I figured he was to be killed once found.
'Would that be my fate?" I asked him.
'No, no. of course not, you are my son and it's my job to protect you. I don't know where Konstantin is but I said I wouldn't let anything happen to his offspring. I owe it to him to fulfil my promise." He said.
'What do I do?" I asked him.
'Go bring your mate for a formal introduction and we would figure out the rest, I am going to try and see if I can find Konstantin's child" he told me.
I nodded at him, 'thank you father"
'Anytime son, go get your mate" he said.
I had a smile on my face as I thought of surprising Avilla by getting back earlier than I told her I would. Normally, I planned to stay for a week but since I concluded this on time with my father, there was no need to prolonging my stay besides I wanted to, no, needed to see her and convince to come with me to see my father.
It was late when I got to her town and headed straight to her house to surprise her. I made sure to pick up her favorites on the way to make her happy and some blood for myself because I haven't fed in a while.
She was okay with me feeding in front of her, she actually liked watching me.
I was in front of her house, I knocked on the door and knew she would sniff me out and come running to the door soon. I heard the pitter patter of her feet right before she opened the door.
'Vladimir!" she said before she threw herself in my arms.
I welcomed the feeling of having her in my arms, I sniffed the crook of her neck and her hair. She smelled so good and delicious.
I could smell her sweet blood pulsating through her heart and veins, wanted a taste. I wondered why she hugged me tight and refused to let go when I realized she was upset. She was sniffing repeatedly, I pulled away and she had puffy eyes.
"You okay? What's going on?" I asked her.
She looked like she has been crying for days.
"Who hurt you?" I asked again but this time my voice had changed, it was colder and I could feel my fangs coming out from the emotions surging through my body. Anger.
"Let's go inside and I will explain to you" she said inviting me in.
I stepped inside and I could see her aunty making something in the kitchen, I opened my mouth to say hello and she dragged me upstairs quickly.
Maybe they had a fight, I sat on her bed as she locked the door and stood leaning against it.
"Are you going to tell me what happened while I was away?" I asked her as I brought out the things I got for her. The smile grew on her face as she saw them one after the other, flowers, chocolate, cheese burger and fries and some paint.
"Thank you" she said in a somber voice.
"Come here" I told her.
She walked to me and leaned against me, I welcomed her into my arms as she leaned more into my embrace.
"Who made you cry?" I asked her.
"It was just a little squabble between me and my aunt. She told me that my late parents were not really my parents because of some messed up story" she said.
"I am so sorry, eat then you would feel better. I know you will" I said to her.
She nodded as she took the cheese burger out of the pack and started eating, I decided now is a good time to tell her what my father said.
"My father wants to meet you" I blurted out.
She choked on her fries and started coughing, I handed her the drink I got for her too which she accepted with a nod.
She drank from the cup and calmed down.
"What? Are you trying to kill me?" She asked.
"Not at all" I said innocently.
"Are you serious? Your father wants to see me?" She asked.
"Yes, I told him about you" I told her carefully.
"Oh wow!" She said.
"What do you say?" I asked.
"My answer is yes, of course" she answered.
"Good, I will come pick you up tomorrow then we go, alright?" I told her.
She nodded shyly but kept eating. I brought out my bag of blood and started drinking it with the straw I had with me.
I was enjoying it so much that I didn't notice the way she was staring at the blood bags inside my bag.
I looked up at her when I felt eyes on me, she was staring intently at the bag.
"You want some?" I teased her.
To my surprise, she nodded her head, I handed her the almost finished blood in the bag.
She replaced her lips on the straw just where mine had been. It was sexy to watch.
She took a sip of it and smacked her lips together, she closed her eyes and licked the same lips.
She opened her eyes and the look she had was the same look I had when I tasted blood for the very first time when I turned, her eyes had the sane red tinge around the pupil and the blood on her lips made her look deadly and sexy at the same time.
I wanted to kiss her lips with the blood on it, it would taste even better coming from her lips.
I was shocked at her reaction, she seemed to be enjoying herself. She finished the remaining blood and continued with her cheese burger while I was left staring at her in shock.
"What?" She asked as she looked up to see me staring at her.
"Most people would feel weird drinking blood" I told her.
"It's actually really good once you get past the fact that it's blood, I know why you vampires are hooked on it like cocaine." She said.
I nodded at her but her indifference was still making me concerned.
I pushed it at the back of my mind as I took the remaining and I could feel my energy returning back.
"What has been happening since I left?" I asked her...
I knew a lot has been happening but I wanted to know if she would tell me the truth, Dimitri kept me updated about everything that happened here when I left, he told me about the misunderstanding between her and the aunty and also some people too but I didn't know the particular one she was most upset about.
I know discovering that your parents are not your birth parents can be devastating but she seemed indifferent to the news. I expected more from her apart from not wanting to talk about which I completely understood but I was hoping she could tell me more about what happened and why she was upset.
