CHAPTER FIFTY

The knight family were still trying to process the story their father told them. The alpha of their pack seriously tried to kill their father. That is a foolish thing to do but he also managed to clean up the mess he created which is also a smart thing. It was up to Patrick knight to save the day and save their pack from the pending doom that was about to fall on them. Everyone knows hybrid doesn't exists and for it to happen, a werewolf and vampire has to mate. That was not just a taboo but a very uncommon thing you happen. He was in his study trying to map out a plan to figure out the best way to take care of Dickson once and for all. Not just for his crimes but also because a little part if Patrick felt like taking revenge for knocking him out cold. He imagined it was time he told his children the truth about his title, they would be mad and might not react but he was going to tell them today when they are back. There should be transparency in the family and it should start with him and spread to the others. They knew Camilla was hiding something from them and they hoped that being honest with them would make her be honest with the family. Patrick also knew that he should talk to Rohan about the situation with his mate, he heard that from Camilla that he has messed everything up again and he wondered why that boy of his is taking his mate as a joke, he wasn't sure he knew the important of a mate bond in a werewolf's life. he knew he needed to figure out a plan to get rid of Dickson and that was why he needed Rohan to be focused because he was going to need his help with this, he needed to settle this problem with his mate and help him with pack problems. It really was time to get rid of the tyrant once and for all. It was late afternoon when he gathered everyone, his wife especially because she still wanted Dickson's head for what he did to Patrick. She fumed every day and her temper rose at the same time. She was angry at the alpha's audacity to touch and humiliate her mate and all she wanted to do as dig her claws into his chest and swipe his head off from his body. It took Patrick's cajoling to cool her down but not for long because he assured her that he would have his revenge. He has not yet figured his plans enough to let his family know but he was working on it. He still needed to come clean to them first. They were all sited in the living room looking anxious and eyes wild with anticipation. 'Dad? What's going on?" Rohan was the first to ask his father. Camilla was silent because she had her own problems to begin with, she was going to tell Mitchell tonight about what she was and she was nervous as it is and she didn't know what bad news her father had to share because his face was looking grave. 'It is nothing terrible, just something I should have told you both a long time ago" he said with a serious tone. They all stared at him with their ears ready to listen, Penelope rubbed her mate's shoulders for support. 'Remember the story I told you Rohan?" he asked his son. 'Yes, about how you and mom came to be" he answered. 'Exactly the one, I skipped a part of the story" He heaved a sigh and continued, 'What I didn't tell you was that I forfeited the alpha king's throne to be with your mother, my father let me go with all my power as the main ruler but I can't sit on the throne." He finished. The both siblings stared at themselves and then at the father, Camilla was the first to break the silence. 'You are telling us that our father is the alpha king?" she asked wide eyed. 'Yes Camilla, your father is powerful" Penelope answered. She smiled at the look of surprise painted on their faces. 'You knew?" Rohan asked. Penelope scoffed at them, 'of course I know, your father is my mate and partner. We don't keep secrets from each other." She tells them. They were still looking shocked, they recovered in a short while with a brand new found respect for their father, and they knew their dad was a strong leader but they never knew that he was the mysterious alpha king. This was brand new information. 'I was expecting more of an angry reaction from you" Patrick said. 'Are you kidding me, dad? This is so cool!" Camilla exclaimed. Everybody laughed at her enthusiasm and got serious once again. 'I am happy you are not mad for the secret, it's been on my mind and I want us to start being honest with each other to move this family forward and transparent. It is the only way we can help each other with problems in this family" he advised. 'That would be all, Rohan we need to talk" he said seriously. The environment became cool. 'Okay father" 'Let's head up to my office" Patrick told his son. They both headed upstairs leaving the women behind, Patrick hoped it would be the perfect opportunity for Camilla to talk to Penelope. She could tell her mother whatever was bothering her, it was clear something was causing her distress. Both father and son climbed the stairs and entered the studies, Rohan was nervous because he thought he did something wrong because of the way the father spoke to him. His father turned on him immediately the door closed behind him. 'I will be very fast with this because I know you have other things to do so here it goes" his father said. Then he opened his mouth to utter words Rohan never believed would come from his father's lips.
