CHAPTER SIXTY-TWO

Vladimir's pov I was still confused after my meeting with the strange girl but I am sure that she is my mate and she is a wolf. Something was wrong somewhere. "Vladimir, you are back so soon?" My brother asked me. "Yes, I came across something strange" I told him as I moved straight to the library. 'What happened?" He asked. " I was walking along the beach because I wanted to clear my head then I bumped into some girl, she was the most beautiful girl I've ever seen and I couldn't take my eyes off her, staring into her eyes was like seeing what our future would be like. I wanted to sniff her hair and keep her close to me all the time." I narrated. "Sissy" my brother called me, I wouldn't blame him. I look like a wimp describing a girl I met just for ten minutes. "Sorry, I got carried away. You should have seen her" I continued but he cut me off before I could go even further. 'Yeah man, what about this girl?" He asked impatiently. "She's my mate" I said. "What?!" he asked shocked. 'I mean I was shocked too but I am serious." "That's good news, do you plan on telling dad? He has been pretty adamant about you picking from the group he showed you and making her your mate. He asks. I flipped open the page of the book I was looking for, "not yet, she is a werewolf" I told him. I didn't have to look at him to know that he was standing with his jaw hanging open right now. "Say what now?" He asked. "She is a werewolf" I said again. "That can't be right, vampires don't mate werewolves" he insisted. You cannot be more right, it has never happened before and it possibly cannot start with me right now, there was nothing my father hated more than change. "I know that, that is why I am currently reading through this book to know why I am attracted to a she wolf, she told me right to my face that it wasn't possible that we were mates" I told him. "Okay then, I will leave you to it" he said. "Hey, hold off on telling anybody till I get this sorted out, okay?" I plead with him. I knew he wouldn't do it but I just needed to hear him say it, everyone was going to make it such a big deal and I didn't want that right now. "Yes, I understand" he said before leaving the library. Images of her face flashes through my mind, she was indeed beautiful. I can't believe after one hundred and thirty three years, I finally get to have a mate. The thought is so exciting for me. I couldn't tell my parents because they would make a big fuss out of it. I didn't even know who the girl was or where she lived. I found the page I was looking for and read.in italics. Werewolves and vampires are not enemies but they are not friends either, the only way they can co-exists with each other is if both parties mean no danger to each other. Centuries have gone by and we haven't heard of vampires and werewolves mating with each other, but we have some rare cases which they get together as mates and copulate to create hybrids. We have only reported one case for centuries now and it is the case of Konstantin Ivanov. The only vampire to mate a werewolf, his destined mate was a wolf girl who the clan rejected as soon as he brought her but Konstantin made it clear that he was going to be with his mate no matter what. He was banished from the clan with the order not to come back, ever! I read all of this and I was angry at the stupid law, banning vampires and werewolves from mating each other? That was just stupid. Konstantin was a very brave person to have stuck with his mate during the whole madness, I wish I could find him and hear his part of the story. If this girl was my mate then I was going to need all the advice I could get. I shut the book and I sat down thinking for a while. I couldn't tell my father about this whole thing till I figure out what was going on. Meanwhile the plan is to meet her again and get to know her. She might not have believed me when I said we were mates but she definitely felt the attraction between us and she knew within herself that it was just a normal attraction between two people. I allowed myself the privilege of being happy, I have found my soulmate. When one who I was bound to for life. I was smiling like a creep. I have been mate less and haven't been able to take over from my father to guide and protect my clan but he was patient with me and all he wants is for me to find my mate and rid him of the burden. I knew he wanted to rest but haven't been able to because of my delay but how on earth would I know that the reason I haven't been able to find a mate is because I have been looking in the wrong direction? I have travelled throughout all the vampire clans in search of my mate but I haven't been able to find any. She has been in a pack after all. It doesn't matter if she is human or wolf, she is mine and I am not letting her slip away from me.
