CHAPTER SEVENTY-EIGHT
Vladimir's pov
I was content and happy but I knew I needed to do something about bringing her with me to meet my father.
Avilla was my happiness on the short time I knew her, she was kind, caring and very sweet. All the attributes a queen should possess and more. But something disturbed me about her, I couldn't sense her wolf anymore but I could feel something more sinister in her, pretty much like me. She has not told me anytime about her past and frankly or didn't bother me because I haven't told her that I would be ruling my kingdom once she follows me home.
So I want to hold off as long as I can so as not to ruin things, it has been bliss between us and I wouldn't want that to change. The wolf seems to have backed down but I could still sense trouble lurking and I wanted to avoid that as much as I can.
I didn't want a war to break out between both worlds and on my first reign as king, it wouldn't bode well with the elders but I wouldn't be so lenient when he tries something with me and mine. I came here to spend time and bond with my mate before getting her down to my kingdom not to continue the never ending war with werewolves.

He was always staring at me whenever I was with Avilla and he seemed to be planning something on his head and I don't trust or like that one bit. I would protect Avilla with my last breath and even that, I wouldn't hesitate to end home immediately.
Avilla has invited me into her house and I was happy that she trusted me enough to do that,
I was headed to her house after running my errands to meet her, I brought flowers and food from her favorite place, her friend Camilla gave me a little too and I thanked her for it.
I had my hands full as I got to the door, I pressed the doorbell with my elbow praying that someone gets the door. I heard footsteps as I wanted patiently. I had my best smile ready to charm her but it froze slightly when the door opened and it wasn't her but an older woman with a disapproving look on her face.
"Who are you?" she asked.
I looked at her clearly, I have seen her before. I tried to rack my brain for a clear picture of her on my memory but it wasn't coming up.
"My name is Vladimir, I am here to see Avilla" I said politely.
"And why are you looking for..." she got cut off when Avilla raced downstairs panting hard as she caught her breath.
'Aunty Beatrice. He is here for me" she said interrupting her aunty who looked at me through narrowed eyes.
Beatrice, now where have I heard that name before?
It sounded really familiar and something about her tugged on my memory.
"Excuse me, have we met before?" I asked her.
She paled and something tells me that she knows who I am or what I am.
"Don't you remember? We were together at the beach" Avilla said.
Her aunty nodded quickly but I stared at her intently, she stared back at me with a blank expression on her face but I knew better, she was scared of something.
"Yes I remember" I said smiling at Avilla.
"Come on! Let me show you my room" she said excitedly.
I followed her upstairs as she dragged me to her room like a little child who wanted to show me her toys, she was so adorable. I smiled to myself.
"Slow down!" I gently cautioned her.
I didn't want her wounding herself and wasting so much of her delicious blood.
"Sorry, I am so excited. I have never had a boy up on my room before" she said when she dragged me inside.
Her room was well organized it, there were no pictures of teenage boys like most girls would crush on. She had a little study desk at far corner of her room, her very clean room.
"I like your room" I commented.
"Thank you and for the food too, how did you know what I liked?" she asked me.
"Your friend, Camilla told me and I rushed over to get it along with these flowers" I brought them out.
She gave me a smile that took my breath away and melted my cold heart. She was beautiful.
"Thank you, I will go put these in water" she said before leaving the room.
I observed her room taking note of how she kept her thongs, I barely just sat down when she came again but this time with a frown on her face.
"What's wrong?" I asked her standing instantly on a defensive manner.
"Oh nothing, my aunty is acting strange but that is her being normal" she said off handedly.
Hmm, that is something to think about. She was definitely acting strange and I should look into it.
It wasn't normal for a werewolf to pale at the sight of a vampire. I mean, we were not at war now and we have reached an understanding so the fear on her face was not as a result of meeting me.
"Well, any normal aunty would be concerned of a strange guy showed up to her house" I answered.
"Yeah that's true, she is always skeptical over my friends" she said.
"Your friends? Ouch!! Is that what we are? Friends?" I said, placing my hand over my heart dramatically.
She laughed so hard "your hand is on the wrong side, your heart is on the left side" she pointed out still laughing.
I looked down and indeed my hand was closing over my right, I brought it down but I kept looking at her laugh with a smile on my face.
We hung out for a whole before I decided to go back, she bid me goodbye at the door after a warm hug. I almost don't want to let go but I had to.
I walked down the path from her house, it was a lonely path, I got to the clearing and I was shocked at the person waiting for me…
