CHAPTER SEVENTY-SIX
Rohan's pov.
I slammed the door shut and walked out to the bleachers to cool off, so I wasn't tempted to go back in there and slam his pretty face on the lunch table, I didn't want to create a scene so I opted for an exit instead. I gritted my teeth as I reeled in my temper.
I couldn't contain the rage building up inside me when I saw that leech with his slimy fingers on my mate. I didn't want to start a war between the two species, that's why I didn't march over there and rip his bony hands off of her.
She looked happy, smiling up at him like it wasn't the first time they were together. I didn't feel any pain so it was safe to assume that they didn't do anything.
Oh no! Pain!
She felt it yesterday when I was with Sophia, I wasn't thinking. She shouldn't even care now that she pushed me away. So what if I was with Sophia? She didn't even blink when she saw us together during lunch.
It was obvious that she has let go but I wasn't ready to let go of her. She was mine! I won't let her go especially to that leech hovering around her.
I punched the wall, loving the way pain travelled up my arm. It felt good.
I couldn't stand the thought of her being with that fucking leech. They were disgusting creatures and they were vile. I hated them now that I know one of them is after my fucking mate.
I sat on the grass and put my head down in my hands, I was mentally exhausted, With Sophie asking me out stand and the whole mess with my sister, I could never catch a break.
It seems everything these days were wrong in my favor, I wasn't winning with these people. And if that leech thinks he can come into my territory and take my mate away from me?
He would be killed with his sidekick as soon as he dares to try it, he must have taken such guts to come down here to track her. I could still envision the wide smile on her face when she hugged him to her. She was wrapped around him like second skin and it made me so jealous that I forgot Sophie was still holding me tightly to her.
Ugh!! If she wasn't going to be mine then she would be nobody's. It was simple, either she agrees to be my mate and forget all of this ever happened and move on or I rip her precious vampire friend apart in front of her.
"Rohan?" A familiar voice called out.
Shit! It was Sophie. So we slept together once, that doesn't mean we were back together, it was a momentarily lapse on my path and one I hope not to repeat again. I had enough on my plate and I couldn't go chase my mate if I had some desperate female on my side.it was bad for business.
"I am over here!" I called out to her, if I don't then she will just keep looking, it was like she was a fly I couldn't get rid of.
"Hey you, what are you doing here all by yourself?" She said lowly.
"Just getting some air out here" I told her.
"You caused quite a scene in the cafeteria" she stated.
I rolled my eyes, I wasn't ready for this conversation especially with her yet. "It's nothing, don't worry about it" I assured her.
"Not even anything to do with your little mate?" She asked.
"What?" I asked her in surprise.
"Oh you think I don't know? How dumb do you think I am?" She asked.
"How did you know she was my mate?" I asked.
"Everybody knows a wolf don't freak out like that when another male touch their girlfriend" she said shrugging.
I chuckled, she was right. Nobody freaked out like wolves when another man touches what belongs to them. And I was the fool that messed up everything the third time. I was a damn fool for not taking good care of an opportunity like that.
I could see she wasn't going to talk to me or give me another chance especially when Sophie was clingier than that leech of a guy.
"Why did you freak out like that?" She asked again.
She sure was full of questions today and it was beginning to piss me off.
"Drop it Sophie, I am not ready to talk about it" I told her sternly.
"Okay then, I will drop it for now" she said seductively.
"Don't start now, it was a onetime thing and you know that" I told her harshly. She didn't take the hint and she kept rubbing my shoulders seductively.
"Come on! You know we had such a good time" she urged.
"Goddamit Sophie!!! Would you fucking stop? I am trying to think!" I barked at her.
She stepped back with fear in her eyes, "I...I am so sorry" she stammered.
I rolled my eyes at her antics, it was always her to play the victim when things don't go her way.
"Oh give it a rest, Sophie!" I snapped.
I left her standing there as I walked further to the fields, I needed to clear my head and I couldn't have her hovering around me like a housefly. She was only making things worse for me right now. I didn't want her getting the idea that we are together now.
I was losing my mind, I was so sure about that, I wanted to talk to Avilla about our situation and know how to deal with it once and for all. I don't see anything wrong in her admitting that she overreacted when she saw me with Sophie and we should resume our relationship as soon as possible.
I knew I had to prepare myself, knowing that the chances of that leech letting her go was slim and I was going to fight for her, whatever it takes. She was my mate and I would be dammed if I don't have her by my side with me.
