CHAPTER SIXTY-SIX
Rohan's pov
I was feeling lost, when I heard Avilla left town, it took my father holding me down to make me not go after her.
How could she leave?
She was mine!
My wolf was furious with me, my parents were disappointed and Camilla wasn't even speaking to me. I know she was aware that Avilla was leaving town and she made a point of not disclosing it to anyone.
My chest have been hurting and it's not because of all the growls that has been coming from there. I hated this feeling. She left without saying goodbye and that hurt more than anything.
I threw myself back into training, it was a way of punishing myself and body for being stupid. I was playing with the one thing the moon goddess created for me. A human can move on quickly from this and I would suffer but I was bidding my time because I knew Avilla couldn't fight the attraction and would still come running back when I snapped my fingers.
My wolf scoffed in my head but didn't say anything, he has been doing that a lot lately whenever I talk or doing anything. He was mad at me for messing up again.
I rolled my eyes at him, I decided to ignore him today. Fighting with my wolf was not such a good idea sometimes. He could be an ass.
I wonder why... He echoed.
I ignored him again.
"Rohan" my father called.
"Coming!" I called back.
He has been obsessing about alpha Dickson lately and I didn't know why but my mother knew and clearly supported him but he has had no such luck since he started his movement. It was about the paper scroll Dickson tore from the pack's library. He claimed he wanted to keep it safe but everyone knew the library was the safest place to keep something valuable and it seems that he did it for a selfish reason.
My father hated liars and cheats but aloha Dickson seemed to be full of them. I don't know why he is alpha but I could sense my dad was not happy.
He called for a meeting of the elders and it wasn't exactly successful to start with. All the elders seem to have been bought over by the alpha with the promise of one thing or the other. We had no idea what that was. My dad was furious because they all agreed to all of Dickson's demands without any consideration of what might happen to their pups.
I shook my head.
"Hey dad, you called me?" I asked him.
He was sifting through some paperwork in his study.
"Yes, sit down please" he suggested.
I did without any questions, he gets really mad when he is in his moods.
"So what are you going to do about your mate?" He asked me without taking his eyes off the papers he was reading.
"I don't know yet, she is not back to town yet" I told him.
"I see, you have no plans of looking for her then" he didn't ask, he stated it like he knew already.
"No, I am just waiting to make sure that she didn't go on a trip before I go looking for her" I told him sincerely.
I wanted to make sure that the panic was in my head, I wouldn't look too good if I go around searching for her like I lost something, knowing her, she would freak and I wanted to avoid that at all costs.
"Your sister still hasn't told you anything, huh?" He asked again.
"No, Camilla isn't speaking to me either" I said.
"I see, where is she anyways?" He looked up from his papers to stare right into my eyes.
I looked down immediately, his stare more intimidating than that of the alpha.
It was at the tip of my tongue to tell my father about Camilla's mate being human but Camilla would never speak to me again if that happens. She was big on keeping secrets and would hate anyone who dared to spill hers.
She has been looking for a reason to hit me and I would hand her one in a golden bowl if I tell my father that she has been hiding her mate from them for so long, as long as I have had mine or even longer considering she found hers before I did.
"Probably hanging out with Ben or some friends from school" I said
He nodded, going back to his documents.
"Are you ever going to tell me about what happened between you and Ben?" He asked ever so casually.
"What?!" I asked shocked.
"Don't act so surprised, boy. You know I would find out sooner or later. Your face was displeased when you mentioned Ben. That have away everything. What happened?"
"He kissed my mate" I said shrugging.
"He did what?!" He thundered.
"Yeah, that was my exact reaction" I told him.
"I hope the next reaction was of you kicking his ass, best friends or not. That is totally unacceptable in this world and he knows that. What was his excuse?"
"Yes dad, I kicked his ass pretty good. And he saw her first, that was his reason for kissing my mate" I said.
Talking about it now made me kind of angry, angry enough to go back there and hit him again and again till I feel satisfied. How many years of friendship ended because of his betrayal? Well, there is always room to make more friends.
"That's my boy, you can always make better friends. One that wouldn't kiss your mate because he saw her first" he said shaking his head.
I laughed a little at that. It was very funny.
"Thanks dad, I feel better about it now"
And that was the truth, I haven't been able to talk about this since the day it happened but now it was over because I spoke to my dad about it. I felt relief instantly.
"You can go now and tell your sister that I want to see her" he instructed.
"Okay"
I turned and made my way back to my room.
