You Are an Amazing Girl
Agatha's eyes widened in shock upon hearing that statement, whether it was true or not. Combined with Layla's innocent expression, Agatha's face suddenly felt hot.
"Ah, wait. What do you mean, Layla?" Agatha was clearly flustered, any other woman would probably be the same if they were in this position.
"It's because—"
Before she could finish answering, Jayden, who was surprised, quickly cut her off. Layla immediately turned to him irritably.
"Layla, you should finish your breakfast quickly and then we'll leave. You haven't forgotten that you shouldn't talk too much while eating, right?" Jayden warned with an expression that was pretended to be calm.
Jayden had to stop this conversation before it went any further. Children's overly honest statements can often be dangerous.
"I'll tell you after school, Aunt. There's this annoying dad here." Layla pouted angrily, but obeyed and continued her eating activity.
Jayden hid a sigh of relief, and secretly glanced at Agatha who seemed to have calmed down.
Indeed, Agatha was grateful that at least Jayden was perceptive. Even though she didn't realize that for a few seconds Jayden had just been watching her.
"Okay, I'll be looking forward to it. Eat slowly, don't choke," Agatha replied, patting Layla's head and smiling slightly.
Unlike when responding to Jayden's words, Layla now nodded accompanied by a bright smile at Agatha. "Okay, Beautiful Aunt Agatha!"
Jayden snorted a little seeing this, but it didn't rule out the possibility that he was happy to observe their interaction. Jayden was even amazed that they had already become so close, even though they had only met recently.
Finally, after breakfast was over, Layla, who had been dressed up and looked beautiful, came out of the room with her uniform neatly attached to her body. Agatha brought Layla to wait for Jayden in the living room. The man seemed to not have finished getting ready yet.
"Aunt, come with me!" Layla suddenly grabbed Agatha's hand as she stood in front of her.
Agatha, who had just sat down, reflexively frowned. "Do you mean you want me to accompany you?"
Layla nodded enthusiastically. The girl's small lips were sweetly pulled. Agatha smiled gently, but unfortunately she had to shake her head.
"But I also have to go to school today, Layla. There's a morning class," Agatha replied, trying to make Layla understand. Besides, she was also puzzled by the girl's invitation earlier.
"My school is close, Aunt. Later Dad can drop you off at your school after dropping me off." Layla gave her puppy eyes as her trump card. "Please, Aunt?"
Agatha's heart immediately melted, Layla's gaze had somehow become her weakness. Agatha gave a small smile, then tidied up Layla's slightly messy hair.
"Usually it's fine with just your dad, isn't it? Why suddenly do you want to be with me?"
Agatha shifted to hold both of Layla's hands. The sweet girl suddenly lowered her head. Agatha remained silent, observing.
"Actually... I want to be like my friends at school. They are escorted by their mothers to the classroom door, then they get a forehead kiss before entering while waving goodbye. I'm jealous, Aunt. I want to experience that at least once."
Layla had long wanted to tell Jayden all of this. But a sense of doubt always held her back from speaking because she knew it would be futile.
Her dad would probably just lecture her. Layla knew, there was no way she could suddenly have a mother.
"Hey, Layla. Why didn't you say that earlier? If I had known, I wouldn't have refused."
Agatha pinched Layla's right cheek playfully. She felt this was the right response to the girl's confession rather than a long lecture.
"Aunt isn't mad that I want that?" Layla looked up hesitantly.
Agatha shook her head firmly. "Why should I be mad? Your request is not bad at all."
Although relieved by Agatha's answer, Layla lowered her gaze again, staring at the fingers Agatha was holding.
"I'm sorry, Aunt. I suddenly asked for something like that with you when we've just met. You must think I'm weird."
Agatha was a little startled, but quickly covered it with a smile and lifted Layla's chin. "No. You're beautiful. You're not weird at all. That's a reasonable and normal request."
"Thank you, Aunt." Layla was calm now, she smiled shyly. "I'm happy to have met you."
"You're welcome, Layla. Me too."
Agatha pinched Layla's cheeks playfully, followed by a amused smile. Then suddenly Jayden came over to them. Agatha immediately stood up.
The wafting fragrance of the cologne and the suit Jayden was wearing were truly a rare sight.
"Are you ready, Layla?" Jayden asked.
"Dad, I want to be escorted by Aunt Agatha. Later you have to drop her off at Aunt Agatha's school too, okay?"
Jayden's movement as he was straightening his tie suddenly stopped. He narrowed his eyes suspiciously. "Hey? What did you bribe Aunt Agatha with? Does she even want to?"
"Of course!" Layla exclaimed enthusiastically.
Jayden was even more puzzled, then quickly turned to Agatha. "Is that true, Agatha? You won't be late? If not, you don't need to force yourself."
"It's no problem, I can guarantee I'll arrive at the campus on time. Besides, I also want to know Layla's school."
"Is that so?" Jayden finished with his tie. He looked at Agatha's expression.
"Yes, really. Seriously."
Jayden sighed because there was no coercion on Agatha's face. He then nodded, but before he could say anything else, Layla had already pulled his arm.
"Let's go, Dad! Don't keep chatting!"

Jayden's car stopped in front of the kindergarten gate. Jayden got out first, then opened the door for Layla. After that, Agatha also got out and Layla immediately held her hand.
Jayden just shook his head before they walked side by side like a family, with Layla in the middle.
"Study hard, okay. Don't sleep in class and listen to the teacher's explanation carefully," Agatha said when they arrived in front of Layla's classroom.
"I always do that, Aunt." Layla nodded enthusiastically.
Agatha smiled slightly. "Keep it up, okay. Later if your grades are good, I'll give you a reward."
"Wow, really? What kind of reward, Aunt? Can I choose?" Layla's eyes shone with curiosity and delight.
Agatha deliberately looked thoughtful, but then chuckled. She then gave a quick kiss on Layla's forehead. "It's a secret. Now, go inside."
Layla was almost pouting in annoyance, before finally breaking into a wide smile. "Okay. Since you asked, I'll always obey."
"You have to respect your dad too, Layla. He's your biological parent who you must respect." Agatha playfully pinched Layla's nose.
"Okay, if he's not being annoying."
Jayden himself was standing next to Agatha. Feeling that Layla only needed Agatha, he had been silent the whole time observing. He also rarely escorted Layla all the way to the classroom door like this.
"Layla, hurry up and go inside!"
It was only then that Jayden spoke, after seeing the time, rather than because of Layla's previous words.
Layla just glanced briefly without interest and walked in while waving to Agatha. But when she saw Jayden, Layla stuck out her tongue and laughed because Jayden looked annoyed.
"Those kids. They're always so naughty."
Agatha just held back an amused smile. They went back to the car because Agatha also had to go to campus. But Agatha was surprised when Jayden suddenly opened the door for her.
Agatha didn't protest much and just got in because now was not the right time to complain. After Jayden sat next to Agatha, he immediately drove the car at a moderate speed.
"Where's your campus?" Jayden asked during the trip. He glanced briefly at Agatha.
"That prestigious campus near here, with a cafe next to it. You must already know."
Jayden was a little surprised when he knew the campus Agatha was referring to. "Oh, so it's there?"
"Why? You look surprised?" It's nothing, but Agatha accidentally noticed Jayden's expression just now.
"No, I just didn't expect you to be able to get in there."
"Because that campus is mostly for rich people?"
Agatha raised one eyebrow while smiling thinly. Indeed, she had often received answers like that.
"That's not it." Jayden shook his head firmly.
"But the essence is probably like that." Agatha knew Jayden must be feeling uncomfortable.
Agatha then sighed softly. "I got in there on a scholarship. I have to work hard to maintain my grades and talents so that my tuition can stay free. Luckily, my brain can cooperate."
Jayden was taken aback, even though the reason he was surprised earlier was not because of that. But he still smiled. Suddenly feeling admired. "You're an amazing girl."
