Will Give Anything
"Help me .... Help ...." The words that drowned in his heart, Jonathan couldn't voice them out.
But he could see a woman looking at him with concern, but only for a few moments before everything turned dark. At that moment, Jonathan woke up from his coma. Opening his eyes, his heart raced.
"I am not dead yet?" Jonathan said in his heart. He turned, seeing Kinara sleeping with her head resting on the edge of the bed.
"Kinara?" Jonathan called softly, almost in a whisper. He slowly touched Kinara's hand resting on his stomach.
"Hmm?" Kinara blinked her eyes, and a moment later, when her senses gathered, she widened her eyes reflexively.
"You're awake?"
Kinara instantly stood up, tears falling from her eyes right away. Seeing Jonathan, her husband, who had opened his eyes with a nod and a smile that she had missed.
"I've been waiting for you." Kinara's sobs broke out, she threw herself to hug Jonathan.
Jonathan was startled, especially since some parts of his body still felt pain. But nevertheless, even with a sudden hug from Kinara like this, he would endure it. Jonathan closed his eyes, feeling the warmth he had longed for.
Ah, he regretted being harsh to Kinara. He couldn't remember the last time he felt warmth like this. For a few moments, after silence enveloped them, only the sound of Kinara's sobbing was heard.
Jonathan contemplated in silence, seeing the happy expression on Kinara's face who still held him tightly.
As the door opened, and his mother, Sarah, appeared. Jonathan felt her presence hit him hard in his heart.
Kinara's sob stopped momentarily when she saw Sarah. Jonathan could see the disappointment in his mother's eyes, mixed with relief at seeing her son awake. Jonathan felt a heavy weight haunting his heart.
Sarah approached, but her gaze was full of unspoken questions. Jonathan found it difficult to face her. In the oppressive silence, Jonathan tried to muster up his courage.
"Mother," Jonathan muttered, his voice full of regret. "I ... I'm sorry. For everything."
Sarah just stared at him, and in her gaze, Jonathan felt pain and disappointment. This was a moment where his hurtful actions towards those around him haunted his thoughts again.
"Mother, all this time I ...." Jonathan fell silent, trying to find the right words. ".... I realize my mistakes. I apologize for being harsh and selfish."
Sarah remained silent, and Jonathan saw tears slowly streaming down her cheeks. Every word he spoke felt like a burden he had carried all this time.
He felt as if he had wasted precious time with the mother he loved so dearly.
"When you are here, Jo. This is a chance to fix everything," Sarah said softly but with profound meaning.
Jonathan felt a heavy burden lifted from his heart, although he still felt fearful of his mother's reaction. However, he vowed to mend his relationship with those who may have been hurt by his actions.
Without words, Sarah walked up to Jonathan. Her gaze was full of mixed emotions, from disappointment to happiness. Then, gently, she hugged Jonathan.
The embrace was meaningful, conveying acceptance and hope for a better future.
Jonathan felt the warmth of his mother's embrace, and tears welled up in his eyes. In this moment, there were no words to express how valuable this moment of reunion was after being separated by his own mistakes.
They remained in the embrace, feeling each other's heartbeat. In his heart, Jonathan promised to change, to make everything better for his mother and loved ones.
In the meaningful silence, they felt the strength of togetherness and the decision to mend their broken relationship.
Despite the unspoken words, the hug became a symbol of peace, and Jonathan felt relieved that—although late, he finally realized his mistakes and had the opportunity to fix everything.
Jonathan, after feeling his mother's embrace, remembered Agatha's figure vaguely haunting his memory before the accident. His mind was in turmoil, and his interest in Agatha resurfaced.
"Agatha," Jonathan murmured softly, trying to find out the whereabouts of the girl.
He looked around for clues, but did not find Agatha in his surroundings. His worry grew, and he felt the need to know what happened to Agatha after the accident.
Carefully, Jonathan tried to ask his mother, "Mother, how is Agatha? Is she okay?"
He felt the need to ensure Agatha's safety, especially after realizing that the girl might have been involved in the accident.
The significant role Agatha played in saving him. Jonathan, although still weak, tried to get up from the bed.
He scanned around, looking for the figure that had helped him in times of distress which had scared him to the core.
"Where is she?" Jonathan asked again, his voice still hoarse.
"She is outside, with someone who is very grateful for your safety," Sarah said as she helped Jonathan sit up carefully.
Slowly, Jonathan nodded, feeling the weakness in his body. He felt touched and grateful to meet someone like Agatha. Without many words, Jonathan then directed his gaze outside.
He wanted to thank her as much as he could. He felt guilty for hating her all this time. Yet, without much thought, Agatha had saved his life.
Agatha, who was previously sitting on the hallway bench with Jayden, immediately rose when she saw Kinara coming out to call them, saying that Jonathan had regained consciousness.
Both Agatha and Jayden's hearts were pounding with mixed emotions.
They walked together, then Jayden gestured for Agatha to enter first when they reached the door. Once inside, Agatha was stunned to see the man seated on the bed smiling as if waiting for her arrival.
"Excuse me," Agatha greeted softly.
Trying to conceal her nervousness, she walked towards the bed while Sarah shifted her body to give space. Jayden only followed behind Agatha without saying a word. He didn't know the right words to say to Jonathan.
"I'm grateful that you are safe, Uncle Jonathan," Agatha said as she smiled at Jonathan. Jayden, who remained silent, only stood next to Agatha expressionless. Even though he genuinely felt happy seeing Jonathan safe.
Jonathan felt the warmth in Agatha's smile. At the same time, he felt an immense guilt that might not be redeemed by anything.
He realized that without Agatha's quick help and wise actions, he might not be here now.
"Thank you, Agatha. You saved my life. An apology will certainly not be enough given all my actions so far. But I promise to give you anything you want because you made it possible for me to continue living until now," Jonathan said sincerely.
Agatha just smiled modestly, lowering her gaze. "I only did what needed to be done. You don't have to apologize and go to the trouble of giving me something. As fellow human beings, I certainly wouldn't let you lose your life."
Jonathan felt touched. Slowly, the awareness of the preciousness of his life and the importance of those around him began to form again.
He saw Kinara still shedding tears beside him, and on the other side, his mother, unable to hide her relieved smile.
