A Heart That Screams
"Thank you, Agatha. I promise from now on not to interfere in your life," Jonathan said with a renewed determination. He would bury his former hatred towards Agatha.
"You can live with the choices you make. With whoever is by your side, and the goals that keep you moving forward."
Agatha was surprised, almost unable to speak until Jonathan chuckled softly. She blinked several times, unable to put into words the overwhelming emotions she felt. Truly, she did not expect this day to arrive so soon.
"Is this really happening? Is this man finally willing to repent?" Agatha thought in disbelief.
But she just nodded softly with a faint smile as a response. Although Jonathan's evil deeds were still unforgettable, she tried to believe in his apology.
As those words were spoken, the atmosphere in the room became warm. Jonathan, with all humility, knew that he owed a lot to Agatha.
And although there was still a long journey towards full recovery, at least now he had the opportunity to mend his relationships with the people around him, including Agatha who had been his savior.
Jonathan regretted his wicked deeds towards Agatha all this time. Despite the girl being willing to save his life by risking her own.
Jonathan was impressed by her. If Agatha's selfishness had been greater, he might not have been able to breathe now.
The deed Agatha had done was immense, and he would give her anything she asked for. Because Jonathan did not want to die just yet.
At his young age, with so much he still wanted to do, Jonathan truly did not want to leave the people he cared about.
During his coma, Jonathan truly regretted everything and hoped to live again. Therefore, when he found out that it was Agatha who enabled him to open his eyes, he promised to do everything for her.
If necessary, he would readily bow before her to plead for forgiveness if she asked.
"I will also apologize to you, Jayden. Whatever my mistake, thanks to this incident, I realize a few things that our relationship should not be like this. But you don't have to forgive me, Jayden. Just seeing you come here already makes me relieved and happy."
Is his father truly self-aware and willing to change? Seeing him apologize, her heart suddenly stunned and surprised.
Jayden listened to Jonathan's words seriously, feeling that this might be a new beginning. Although there was still a hint of doubt.
After a moment of silence, Jayden nodded. "Although I cannot forgive you yet, but I will give you a chance. Hopefully, this will truly be a good moment for change for you."
He did not completely close his heart, giving room for the promised change by Jonathan. Jayden would try to believe in the sincerity of the man.
Despite everything he had done, Jayden still remembered that Jonathan was his biological father.
Agatha, standing between them, could only remain silent. She was surprised that Jonathan had truly changed, and stunned that they would finally reconcile.
Although Jayden did not smile, she believed that deep down, the man had forgiven Jonathan.
Then, they began to converse about various things. Laughter and smiles accompanied their words as they witnessed Jonathan's improved behavior. Jayden and Agatha decided to sit on the sofa in the room.
They were watching the interaction between Jonathan, Kinara, and Sarah. They seemed happy. Unfortunately, Agatha was perplexed as to why Jonathan's stepson did not come.
Indeed, Cakra. In times of great calamity like this, does that man not care even for his own parents?
"Ah, Jo. I have contacted Cakra, but it seems he Truly has many reasons. Should I call him again and have you speak to him? Or should we just video call him?" Kinara interjected suddenly.
Agatha couldn't believe she was spot on with her thoughts. She listened intently.
"Let it be, he is indeed stationed abroad on an assignment so that he doesn't cause any trouble here." Jonathan responded calmly and with a small chuckle. Because that was his objective.
"Huh? So you're going to just let him be? Don't you want him to come here to see how you're doing?" Kinara frowned disapprovingly. She was actually quite upset with Cakra for being stubborn about coming home for various reasons.
"It doesn't matter to me. His business here is in chaos, he has to go abroad to settle everything. You know he is quite hardworking, right?" Jonathan explained.
Kinara massaged her suddenly throbbing temples. Then she took a long deep breath. "But you just experienced a very serious incident, can he not come home briefly to check on your condition for just one day? Or five hours, four hours, he should be able to, right?"
Jonathan smiled. He now realized how concerned Kinara was for him. He used to think that Kinara's behavior was always overdramatic and made him uncomfortable. But now he felt happy and grateful to see her.
"It's okay, Kinara. He can come home anytime."
Kinara took another long deep breath. Let's see, if Cakra were to come back, she would scold him severely. She could see the disappointment in Jonathan's expression although it was hidden.
Kinara knew Cakra was her favorite child because he always complied. But it was aggravating that when Jonathan was in trouble, Cakra refused to visit. Kinara knew that Cakra actually wasn't too busy abroad.
"Alright. For this time, I'll let him be." In the end, Kinara smiled gently when she saw Jonathan's changed response.
Throughout, Agatha had been observing. And she listened to everything. For some reason, her assumption was that Cakra going abroad was not entirely for work.
It could be a form of release after facing much rejection from him. Not to mention he also said his company was not doing well lately.
"I don't mean to be conceited, but he seems like that kind of man," Agatha thought. "It's a shame to see that he's quite selfish. Especially now with his father experiencing a terrible incident, but he doesn't seem to care."
"How, then, would his fans react when they find out about Cakra's nature?" Agatha added to her thoughts. Truly, she still couldn't believe the man named Cakra.
"Agatha?"
"Ah, yes?" Agatha was startled by Jayden's sudden call. She turned immediately. "What's up?"
"What are you thinking about?" Jayden asked, furrowing his brows. He had noticed Agatha daydreaming for a while. It took three calls before she responded.
Agatha quickly shook her head. "Uh, nothing. I'm just touched by them. Aren't you going there to join them?"
Jayden looked at the three people Agatha referred to. Then he smiled faintly. "No. Being here with you is much better."
Agatha wanted to scream right now. Unfortunately, she had to hold back, especially with her heart pounding fast. Truly, was Jayden allowed to be that honest?
"Is he allowed to make me fall more in love with him?" Agatha asked in her screaming mind.
