Making My Heart Race
With a heart full of gratitude, Agatha thanked her parents who were now above.
"Thank you, for your prayers and support that always accompany my steps. You gave me strength to solve my life problems well. I feel your presence in every step of my life journey."
With trust from above, Agatha felt propelled to keep moving forward and overcome life's challenges with confidence.
Jayden, unable to sleep, decided to go to the kitchen for some peace. However, his steps halted when he accidentally saw Agatha on the balcony.
Their eyes met in the silence of the night, accompanied only by the rustling of leaves and dim light.
For a moment, Jayden felt Agatha's presence under the moonlight. The calm and meaningful atmosphere made him decide to join her, perhaps to find answers or solace in the silence together.
Without a word, Jayden suddenly stood next to Agatha. A look of surprise was clearly visible on Agatha's face, who didn't expect Jayden's sudden presence on her balcony.
The quiet night was now filled with their presence, as they gazed at each other under the moonlight.
"Why are you here?" Agatha asked in surprise, trying to understand Jayden's sudden presence on her balcony.
Jayden answered with a faint smile. "I couldn't sleep. Then I saw you here. Is something troubling you?"
Agatha felt slightly surprised, but then shook her head softly. "It's nothing, Jayden. I'm just missing my parents."
Jayden sat in a chair near Agatha. "I couldn't sleep either. But when I saw you here, I got worried. Why haven't you slept? Is there a problem?"
Agatha fell silent for a moment, taken aback by Jayden's unexpected concern. Her heart beat fast, feeling the warmth of his caring nature.
After being momentarily stunned, Agatha finally answered in a soft voice, "I didn't expect this. But thank you for your concern. I was just thinking about my parents. That's all."
Jayden nodded. "If there's anything I can help with, let me know, Agatha. I'm here for you too."
The night became a witness to an unexpected moment of togetherness on the apartment balcony. Agatha smiled faintly, appreciating Jayden's offer and support.
"Thank you, Jayden. Sometimes memories make me feel lonely, but they also give me strength to move forward."
"I understand. We all surely have moments like that. Honestly, I just want to make sure everything is okay."
Agatha felt warm by Jayden's concern. Her face blushed, but she tried to remain calm. She never expected to hear such soothing and caring words from Jayden.
Jayden suppressed a smile. "Don't hesitate to talk if you need someone to listen. We can support each other, Agatha."
Agatha smiled gently as she gazed at the stars in the sky. "Thank you, Jayden. It's indeed difficult to face everything alone."
Jayden observed Agatha's face from the side. "You don't have to go through it alone. We can support each other."
Softly, Jayden continued, "And you know, Agatha? I've always admired your strength and resilience. Because you're stronger than you think."
They continued to talk about dreams, worries, and everything in between, creating a stronger bond under the softly shining moonlight.
Agatha nodded, wiping away the tears that were about to fall. "Thank you, Jayden. I feel that being a caregiver is not an easy task. But I like the job."
Jayden looked at her understandingly. "You're amazing. Layla is very lucky to have you."
They continued their conversation, sharing stories about Layla and how they could support each other amidst the sometimes tiring tasks.
"You must know that my parents have passed away," Agatha smiled faintly as she glanced at Jayden, then looked back at the star-filled sky above.
"And now I miss them."
Jayden remained silent, briefly gazing at Agatha from the side, before also directing his gaze to the sky. Now he understood why Agatha preferred to look up rather than next to her.
Even though the person next to her was captivating when seen up close. But apparently, the view of the sky up there was much more beautiful and awe-inspiring.
"When I miss them, I always look at the night sky. I gaze at the stars there and talk as if my parents are among them."
Agatha suddenly laughed when Jayden fell silent. "You probably think I'm being overdramatic or something. But it's okay. Because those who haven't experienced it won't be able to feel it too."
"No, you're wrong," Jayden responded instantly, his gaze still on the sky above. "It's not something over the top. And to understand what someone is going through, we don't always have to experience the same thing ourselves first."
Agatha was taken aback. That answer was beyond her expectations. She didn't expect Jayden to understand her. She was content that he listened without needing a response. But she was mistaken.
"If you have a genuine and pure heart, it will be easily touched and able to empathize with others' feelings," Jayden continued. Glancing at Agatha's face from the side. Then he smiled without realizing it.
Agatha's heart raced upon hearing his words. She intentionally avoided looking at Jayden because it wouldn't be safe for her face, which must have turned red. Agatha had never received such a heartfelt response from anyone she knew.
"This man is really good at making my heart race," Agatha said to herself. She tightened her grip on the balcony railing to hold back her exploding heart.
"Do you know, Agatha? When I first saw the summary about you, I was immediately impressed and thought you were really cool."
Agatha was startled, and without realizing how surprised she was, she turned her head. "You were really looking into me? Seriously? So you already know everything?"
Jayden grinned at Agatha's expression, finding it amusing. "Not everything, just a few things I know. But if you'd like to share more, I'll listen with an open heart."
Agatha quickly averted her gaze. Oh my. She was in awe of his smile. "There's nothing special in my life that needs to be told. I'm just living my life according to fate."
"Well, even if it's a bit sad," Agatha murmured softly. Then she chuckled bitterly.
Jayden heard her murmur clearly. He knew all too well Agatha's efforts to survive on her own. Struggling hard to achieve success with her own strength.
Jayden admired how amazing Agatha was, enduring and achieving everything she had accomplished so far.
