You Both Look Very Cute
'Is he allowed to be so straightforward like that?" Agatha could only say that in her mind. In a split second, a rosy hue flushed her face.
Agatha blushed, but pretended not to feel embarrassed. Her eyes almost widened if she hadn't lowered her head.
Luckily, there was still water in her glass, so she could quickly gulp it down to neutralize her blushing face.
"Why is he so at ease saying that? Does he think those words sound ordinary? Doesn't he know that those words have a messy effect on me?" Agatha kept muttering while desperately trying to hold back a smile.
"Or is he intentionally making me feel that way? Huh, I didn't expect this job to make me fall in love with a widower. Besides, who in this world doesn't like a man like him, right?" She finished her glass of water in one go.
Agatha had never been so nervous and happy talking to a man. She should have been able to act normally like when most men approached her.
But she didn't expect facing someone she liked truly made her feel crazy.
"Yes, I should be grateful to meet him. Women out there might be jealous if they see me," Agatha said internally for the last time before placing the empty glass on the table.
Agatha would consider this job a blessing that she was most grateful for. Especially after hearing the thrilling confession earlier, truly fortunate. So shocked instead of delighted, Agatha couldn't respond with words.
In fact, Agatha almost didn't realize that the silent atmosphere at the dining table had been going on for several minutes. Agatha was busy in her thoughts and almost forgot to see Jayden's expression in front of her.
"How's your foot now?"
Jayden wasn't irritated by Agatha not responding after his honest declaration earlier; he could be satisfied just by seeing Agatha blushing.
Agatha could only blink in realization when he spoke again. And once again, her heart raced. "Ah, yes. My foot has improved thanks to the medication you gave me."
"Thank you," she continued. Agatha smiled faintly and moved her foot that had been injured and now felt no pain. She didn't expect to recover this quickly.
"Great. I hope that incident won't happen again."
Agatha looked up at Jayden, his expression looked serious and sincere. When she felt they were staring, Agatha quickly cleared her throat and looked down again, nodding stiffly.
Jayden smiled faintly, finding Agatha's behavior quite adorable.
"Aunt Agatha, I'm done." In the midst of the silence, Layla's soft voice suddenly sounded.
"Oh, done already? Why so soon?" Agatha asked, furrowing her brow.
Agatha was certainly confused as Layla appeared with steps unheard and whispered voice.
Meanwhile, Jayden remained silent, observing. Letting his daughter do whatever she wanted.
"I'm afraid of disturbing your conversation," Layla replied in a whisper.
Agatha's expression reflexively twitched, but after a few seconds, she burst into a gleeful laugh. She stood up and approached Layla, who smiled sweetly at her. Agatha lovingly pinched Layla's cheek before returning to the bathroom to shower.
Anna looked at Jayden with narrowed eyes, then covered her nose with one finger. "Dad, don't forget to shower! You smell really strong!"
Jayden widened his eyes and stood up. "Watch out, you naughty girl!"
Layla burst into laughter before Jayden chased and tickled her. She quickly turned around and hurried back into the room.
Jayden smiled amusedly, shaking his head. After replacing his and Agatha's glass to their original place, he also went to his room.

"You really like making your dad angry," Agatha remarked upon hearing Layla's laughter after she closed the bedroom door.
"Because dad looks funny when he's mad, Aunt. Try it, you'll definitely get carried away." Layla's response made Agatha laugh. Ah, she should have lingered outside the room to see Jayden's face that Layla found amusing. She was now curious.
"I'll shower first, okay." Agatha was about to step into the bathroom.
Layla suddenly ran in front of her. "Aunt, wait."
"Yes, what's up?"
Layla looked down and hesitated. "Um... can I choose an outfit for you too?"
Agatha raised an eyebrow. "Hmm, unusual?"
"I want to wear a matching outfit with you. Is that okay?" Layla looked at Agatha hopefully.
Agatha pretended to think, but she couldn't refuse. "A couple outfit, huh? Sure. It seems cute."
Layla's eyes sparkled. "Yay! Thank you, Aunt!"
Agatha nodded, her smile wide. She hurried into the room to carry out her evening ritual. Inside, she cleaned herself with a pounding heart.
She couldn't easily forget Jayden's words. Although not an expression of feelings, it was more than enough to make her feel special to Jayden.
The masculine scent of the room, tidily arranged and predominantly dark, creating a calming atmosphere. Jayden was sitting at his desk holding a mini figurine. He was silent, lost in memories within the photo next to someone.
"When will you remember me? Are you really that little girl, Agatha?" Jayden murmured.
His large muscular fingers gently stroked the photo of a little girl with short hair standing without a smile next to a boy with a poker face.
Jayden smiled faintly before the ringing phone suddenly sounded from his cell phone. He sighed, but lazily answered when he saw the caller's name.
Suddenly, Layla knocked on the door, one minute after Jayden finished the call. He didn't open it, just asked Layla to come in. Jayden remained seated in his work chair.
"Look at us, Dad!"
Jayden turned to the door, instantly stunned. One little girl looked very cute in a short-sleeved T-shirt with Doraemon on the front.
But another girl, slender but curvy, looked so adorable in her not-so-confident face while wearing a couple shirt with her son.
"Tada! How do we look, Pa? Isn't this very cute?" Layla asked with a sweet smile, turning around.
"Yes, you both look very cute," Jayden restrained his smile from widening. His gaze couldn't leave those two women.
"I wanted to invite you, but Dad must have refused because he'd have to work. Dad must have thought this was over the top and childlike." Jayden got distracted by Agatha, who looked even cuter in that outfit. He seemed to have to praise Layla and give her a gift for making Agatha look sweet.
Jayden had to admit that Agatha had caught his attention even though the girl didn't do anything.
"Someday, if Dad's not busy, Dad will be willing, okay," Jayden replied, leaning back.
Layla covered her mouth with her hand and widened her eyes. It was truly a miracle to her. "Wow? Really? Dad is possessed by what?"
"Dad is serious, as long as it makes you happy, why wouldn't Dad do it?" Layla couldn't stay still, she quickly ran to Jayden and hugged him tightly. She was overjoyed by her father's answer because she had always been considered childish by her father if she wanted something like that.
"Lovely to have you, Dad!"
At first, Agatha felt embarrassed and jittery because she entered Jayden's room wearing clothes she felt were not right for her. But when she saw the happy scene, she couldn't help but smile and feel happy too.
"Why did Dad suddenly change? Did Dad have a dream last night?" Layla asked as she let go of the hug.
Jayden laughed, straightening Layla's slightly messy bangs. "It seems Dad had a moment of enlightenment."
"Enlightenment?" Layla furrowed her brow, the word unfamiliar to her.
"Enlightenment is a feeling that comes from God and makes Dad's heart aware. Dad suddenly feels like doing anything to make you happy."
"Hehe, thank you, Dad," Layla smiled broadly, Jayden nodded briefly as he ruffled the girl's hair.
"Aunt, come in," Layla called out, then turned to Agatha, who had been standing in front of the door the whole time.
Agatha shook her head spontaneously. "Um, no, y-you don't need me. You two talk, I need to tidy up something. I'll go now."
Agatha chose to return to her room because she didn't want to disturb, and besides, she felt nervous to go in. In her lifetime, she had never once entered a man's room, especially a man she liked. Let alone, she might not be able to sleep after leaving there.
"Why doesn't Aunt want to come in?" Layla innocently asked her dad. She thought Agatha would join in the conversation with them and her dad.
"Maybe she's shy?" Jayden guessed, although he actually knew the reason for Agatha's departure.
"Shy with who? It's just us here." Jayden shrugged, then smiled playfully as he affectionately squeezed Layla's button-like nose.
After a while, the clock showed the time for Jayden to head to work at the office.
Jayden was now ready in his usual suit. He never forgot to bid farewell to his only child.
"Go to bed early and no watching TV until you finish your homework, understand?" Jayden squatted in front of Layla, who was standing.
"What if there's no homework? Can I watch TV as much as I want?"
"Sure."
Layla smiled and raised her hand like saluting the flag. "Got it, Boss!"
Jayden chuckled. "Good night."
"Good night, Dad!" Layla replied joyfully.
Jayden stood up, after giving a small smile to Agatha as a goodbye, he promptly opened the door to leave. Agatha swallowed hard and sighed as the door closed.
But when her eyes accidentally saw a cell phone lying on the dining table, Agatha immediately realized it was probably Jayden's phone.
Agatha widened her eyes for a moment before grabbing the phone and running out to catch up with Jayden before he went too far.
"Jayden, wait!"
