Sorry, Forgive Me
Speeding his car towards Jonathan's office without informing the man, Jayden was truly furious, wanting to release all the pent-up curses.
"Damn, damn! I should have realized earlier!" Jayden snapped as he punched the steering wheel of his car. The glowing red traffic light only tested his patience further.
Arriving in front of a towering company building, Jayden stepped out of the car with a demeanor that made some people move aside as he walked. Jayden disregarded them, hurrying to Jonathan's office on the top floor.
Once there, without permission or knocking on the door, Jayden boldly barged in. This nearly caused Jonathan, who was focused on his work on the computer, to yell in anger. But upon seeing who it was, Jonathan reflexively stood up and smiled.
"Well, well, what brings my son here?" he greeted Jayden, who stared intently.
"Explain the meaning of this photo."
Jayden placed his phone on the desk, still trying to remain patient. He would attempt to talk calmly.
Jonathan frowned in confusion, then complied. He looked at the photo. Studied it carefully. After a moment, he was stunned. Soon, he chuckled softly. Jonathan then looked back at Jayden, folding his arms with a very calm demeanor.
"I never thought she's also an informer. When did she tell you?" Jonathan laughed lightly. His son was very serious, he mused. "So when do you plan to do? You should be the one to follow my advice so I don't have to bother getting rid of hypocrites around you. Isn't it enough that you've brought shame to the family because of your careless actions back then?"
"My current life has nothing to do with the past! And why should I follow the words of someone who didn't even ask for my opinion before making a big decision?" Jayden controlled his clenched hand. His breath was uncontrollably racing.
"Why did you remarry without my knowledge? Even when Mom had not been dead for a full year! You really have no heart!"
Jayden gasped with his explosive outburst. He no longer cared about politeness, the suppressed anger was now out of his control.
But Jonathan remained unfazed. He was momentarily surprised by Jayden's eruption of emotions, but only for a few moments before he now smiled. It was as if Jayden's words just now would not touch his conscience.
'Are we done talking?"
Jayden raised an eyebrow, disbelieving the response he received. This man was truly out of his mind. Jayden's jaw tightened.
He closed his eyes briefly, regulating his breath, then opened them again when he had calmed down. He realized he had made a big mistake wasting his energy in front of this stone-hearted man.
"Never disturb that girl!" Jayden emphasized. He walked closer to Jonathan.
"Hmm? Why not? Has she given you something valuable that you don't want me to hurt her?"
Jayden widened his eyes. "She's not that kind of girl! Why do you always think of her as bad?! Please, in my life now, don't interfere! Regardless of whoever I'm in a relationship with, from any background, please don't meddle!"
Jayden stared into the man's eyes. He moved closer to him, standing right beside the man.
"I don't need your attention and fake concern, Mr. Jonathan. It's better to pay attention to what your beloved child is doing out there."
Jayden smiled faintly. He intentionally lowered his tone of voice. "See for yourself how useful she is to you."
***
Jayden smiled satisfied after seeing Jonathan's expression before leaving his room. If he involved his stepchild, Jayden had guessed that Jonathan would be disturbed. Indeed, the man had shown a hint of anger towards him earlier.
Jayden knew that Jonathan highly valued Cakra in front of others, including himself. He boasted about how great he was because he had become a director at the favorite campus while still relatively young.
Many women idolized him for his good looks. Cakra's popularity made Jonathan happy because the family's reputation, which had been tarnished due to Jayden's past incident, was slowly improving. Even far better now.
His ability to socialize well and be friendly often earned praises from several company leaders. Many mothers even wanted him as a son-in-law.
Thinking about it really made Jayden so angry that he wanted to punch the arrogant and conceited face of Cakra when facing him. Yes, the man was very fond of belittling him behind Jonathan's back and in front of others, of course.
Jayden took a deep breath, the traffic light had turned green, he turned the steering wheel of his car towards Agatha's campus. Today, he was going to pick up Agatha first to explain everything.
"At this hour, she should have already gone home," Jayden muttered, a few minutes later he stopped his car near the campus bus stop.
Jayden chose to wait and observe the entrance gate to be on guard in case Agatha wasn't aware of his arrival. Only then would he call her.
Fortunately, Jayden had saved Agatha's number even though he had never sent her a message or called her before.
In the midst of his activities, he suddenly realized that there was a familiar car parked not far from his.
Suddenly, he suspected Jonathan was still monitoring Agatha's movements. Because Jayden knew the man wasn't satisfied with just letting him win easily.
So, when he accidentally saw Agatha walking out, Jayden smiled because fate was on his side. He immediately called and informed her that he had arrived.
Not long after, the girl arrived next to his car with a puzzled look. Jayden restrained himself from smiling at Agatha's confused face, which he found cute.
'Why are you already—"
Agatha's words were abruptly cut off as Jayden pulled her hand in, making Agatha startled.
'I'll explain inside. Someone is watching you."
Agatha nervously held onto his hand. "Wait! What do you mean—"
"Get in, Agatha!" Jayden commanded firmly.
With just one word, Agatha couldn't resist. Jayden's serious face made her unable to refuse and she complied to get in.
After closing the door, Agatha nervously swallowed. Now she was back sitting in the front seat.
"What's going on? Why do I have a bad feeling?" Agatha wondered to herself. The atmosphere in the car suddenly fell silent while Jayden had yet to drive the car.
The news that Jayden had come to pick her up early really shocked Agatha. She couldn't guess what would happen next. Especially after finding out that someone was watching her.
Even though she briefly thought it might be one of Jonathan's messengers, she didn't expect Jayden to realize it.
"Ah, that's impossible. Don't tell me he already knows the truth?" Agatha said in her thoughts again.
"So, why?" Agatha asked softly, after struggling with her thoughts on whether to speak up or not.
"I'm sorry. Forgive me, Agatha."
