We Support Each Other
Jayden, who had been busy with his affairs at the office, immediately responded, "Hello, Agatha. What's wrong? Why do you sound anxious?"
In a voice attempting to remain steady, Agatha informed Jayden about the accident that had befallen Jonathan and the urgent need for blood for the surgery.
Although she tried hard not to show her concern, the tremor in her voice revealed deep worry.
"Jayden, I don't know what to do," Agatha said, trying to hold back her tears.
"That man, your father, had an accident, he needs blood, and I already donated part of my blood. But I'm still afraid...."
Across the line, Jayden was shocked, his phone almost slipping from his grip. His jaw clenched with a sharp look, he immediately cut off Agatha's words, "Don't worry, Agatha. I will go to the hospital immediately. Everything will be fine."
With a little relief, Agatha expressed her gratitude, "Thank you, Jayden."
"We will face this together," Jayden responded firmly before ending the call to head to the hospital promptly. Although still full of anxiety, Agatha felt unexpected support from Jayden in this difficult moment.
When Jayden arrived at the hospital, he hurried towards the waiting room where Agatha sat with a worried expression. However, as he took fast steps, discomfort and surprise were visible on Jayden's face upon seeing Agatha.
"Agatha, why did you do this?" Jayden's tone was a mixture of annoyance and disapproval. "You donated your blood without informing me beforehand?"
Feeling Jayden's surge of anger, Agatha tried to explain anxiously. "Jayden, I know time is crucial, and your father needs blood urgently. I didn't have time to inform you."
Furrowing his brow, trying to digest Agatha's explanation, but his anger still burned in his eyes. "This is not a decision you should make on your own, Agatha. We could have found a better way."
Despite feeling pressed by Jayden's reaction, Agatha answered sincerely. "I just wanted to help, Jayden. He is your family, and I couldn't just sit idly by."
In silence, Jayden took a deep breath, trying to calm his emotions. "I appreciate your good intentions, Agatha, but we need to communicate with each other. Don't make decisions on your own."
Agatha nodded, realizing that Jayden had a valid point. Although she wanted to help, her actions this time might have been too impulsive.
Jayden then sat next to Agatha, trying to create harmony amidst the tension felt in the hospital air.
After a moment of silence, Jayden felt it was important to address the situation more calmly. "I apologize for my reaction earlier, Agatha," he said in a softer tone.
"I know your intentions were good, and I shouldn't have reacted in anger right away."
Agatha nodded, giving a small smile. "I should have informed you first, Jayden. It was a quick decision, and I understand if it caught you off guard."
Jayden looked at Agatha with gratitude. "Thank you, Agatha. This was a difficult decision, and I truly appreciate your step to help my father."
Agatha smiled, feeling relieved that the tension between them was beginning to ease. "I will always try to help, Jayden, as much as I can. Somehow, we have to face this together."
Jayden nodded, showing his agreement. "You're right, Agatha." He then flashed a friendlier smile, trying to restore an atmosphere of solidarity and support.
As they sat together in the hospital waiting room, the tense atmosphere felt like an enveloping blanket. Agatha absentmindedly smoothed her hair, while Jayden bit his lip, contemplating the outcome of Jonathan's surgery.
Time felt slow, every second felt like an hour. Agatha looked around, trying to hide the worry in her eyes. Jayden, beside her, tried to maintain calmness, but his expression reflected deep anxiety.
Agatha knew Jonathan didn't like her, but she couldn't let someone die and possibly lose their life because they needed help.
The past incident made her not want to experience again how heartbreaking it was to lose someone close, even if that person hated her.
Jayden himself, initially thought that what Jonathan experienced was a fitting retribution for his wicked deeds.
However, he did not expect there to be a suffocating feeling deep in his heart. Jayden couldn't cry uncontrollably, but he hoped Jonathan was okay.
The two of them could only sit quietly without words, each heart pounding along with the slow passage of time.

The tense atmosphere felt even more palpable as the door to the operating room finally opened. A doctor came out, looking at them with a serious expression.
"How is he, Doctor?" Jayden asked, his voice unable to hide his anxiety.
The doctor nodded. "The surgery went well. But his condition is still critical. We will do everything we can."
Agatha swallowed hard, trying to contain the waves of emotions surging within her. She tightly held Jayden's hand, offering support that words couldn't express. They waited again, not knowing what would happen next.
They sat back in the waiting room with wandering thoughts. Jayden tried to strengthen his resolve, but worry still gripped him. Agatha gazed afar, seeking peace in the dominating silence.
A moment later, a nurse approached them. Her face seemed slightly lighter, instilling a glimmer of hope in Jayden and Agatha.
"Are you Jonathan's family?" the nurse asked gently.
Jayden and Agatha spoke simultaneously. "Yes, that's us."
"The doctor would like to speak with you. Please follow me."
They both quickly rose, their hearts pounding accompanying their steps towards the doctor's room. Not a word was spoken, but their gaze held every hope and worry lifted with each step taken.
As the door to the doctor's room opened, they saw the doctor looking at them with a faint smile. They held their breath, waiting for words that would bring good or bad news.
The doctor nodded gently. "The operation went well. We managed to address the internal issues Jonathan faced. Currently, he is in a recovery stage. Everything looks positive."
Jayden and Agatha felt a heavy burden lifted from their shoulders. Relieved smiles brightened their faces, and the room was filled with a lighter air.
"We will move Jonathan to the recovery room. You can see him after a while," the doctor added.
Thankful sincerely, Jayden and Agatha realized how precious this moment was. They returned to the waiting room with grateful hearts, thankful that their worries about Jonathan had come to an end.
Agatha and Jayden sat in the available chairs in front of Jonathan's recovery room. Their faces mirrored the shared worry and relief.
"I was truly scared earlier, Jayden. What if...." Agatha began.
Jayden smiled faintly and intervened. "He is strong, Agatha. That man is always strong. Thank you for donating your blood. You truly saved him."
Agatha nodded softly. "No need to thank me, Jayden. It's the least I could do."
"I also thank you for being here with me to go through all of this and not leaving me alone."
Agatha looked at Jayden gently. "We will support each other, Jayden. No matter what."
They continued their conversation, strengthening each other in front of the recovery room door, which showed a shadow of the new life they would embark on together after this trial.
