Your Phone Number
Jayden reflexively turned his body when he felt a touch on his hand. He raised an eyebrow in confusion upon seeing Agatha in front of him panting.
"What's up?"
"This, your phone." Agatha handed over the Apple-branded phone. "I'm glad I saw it."
Jayden was taken aback, he took the phone from Agatha's hand, then smiled softly. "Thank you. Seems like I was careless."
"You're welcome." Agatha nodded, cleared her throat softly, then smiled shyly. "Good night."
Not wanting to waste the opportunity, Agatha spoke again, "And be careful."
Jayden was startled, but then grinned. He nodded slightly. "Thank you."
Agatha felt nervous for a moment and couldn't help but smile as Jayden turned around and left. She wanted to jump for joy at the charming smile he returned.
"Stop beating so fast, damn heart!" she cursed in annoyance, but also feeling emotional. Throughout her return to the apartment, her smile didn't fade.
As for Jayden, his lips continued to tug upwards as he walked out. Apparently, Agatha's words had an unexpected effect on him. Unbeknownst to him, he had already reached the outside and when he opened the car door, Rey kept staring at him.
"Wow, are you smiling?" Rey teased, unable to contain his curiosity.
Jayden immediately scowled, no longer smiling. "No, crying."
Rey chuckled. "My heart feels happy seeing you smile so often lately. I wonder who's making you like this."
Jayden ignored him, opened the car door, and got in. Rey smiled even wider, then followed suit and sat next to Jayden as the driver.
"First meeting at what time?"
Rey grinned. It wasn't usual for the boss to ask about working hours. He must've done it to change the subject from earlier. "Still half an hour away. No need to rush."
"So, who, Boss? The person who—"
"If you're curious again, I'll go alone tonight." Jayden knew Rey must've understood the meaning behind his words.
Rey's eyes widened instantly. His hand quickly covered his mouth. "I'll keep my mouth shut, Boss."
No further discussion about the person who made Jayden smile was made. Rey chose to bury his curiosity. The car drove in silence and calmness. Occasionally, Jayden only asked about work and was answered minimally by Rey.

Agatha, with preparedness in her steps, entered the minimarket without realizing her wallet was left neatly on the sofa at her apartment.
As Agatha arrived at the minimarket, she still hadn't noticed. It was only when it was her turn to count the items at the cashier that she suddenly realized something.
"Oh no, don't tell me my wallet is left behind?" Agatha thought as she reached into her pocket but couldn't find her wallet.
"Agatha, stupid. How could you be so careless too?" Agatha cursed her foolishness internally. She cursed, tightening her grip on the shopping basket.
"The total—"
"Excuse me. I left my wallet at the apartment, can I go get it first?" Agatha asked anxiously.
Initially, she hoped her luck would be good this time, but when she saw the expression on the woman's face in front of her, Agatha tensed.
"Why don't you just lie?" The cashier woman's annoyed tone had a hint of sarcasm. She clearly didn't like such incidents that she frequently encountered.
"I'm not that kind of person." Agatha tried to respond calmly even though she was actually feeling emotional due to being accused.
"I'm just making sure, because things like this happen frequently." The woman rolled her eyes lazily.
Agatha frowned in annoyance, but before she could voice out, a hand suddenly placed a pack of cigarettes and a can of soda on the cashier's counter.
Agatha raised her eyebrows in surprise, but as she was about to turn back to see who did it, what came next made Agatha widen her eyes.
"How much is it? Include this woman's belongings as well."
"Are you going to pay for them?" The cashier woman raised an eyebrow and squinted her eyes.
Agatha immediately turned around. "Wait—"
"Yes, I am going to pay for everything."
Cakra, who was actually the man, nodded with a smile. He intentionally didn't give Agatha the chance to refuse. The cashier woman didn't want to bother, so she began calculating the total of Cakra and Agatha's purchases.
"What? Hey?" Agatha tried to pull Cakra's arm when he was about to open his wallet.
However, her attempt was futile as his arm was too muscular, causing Agatha to startle. Instead, she was restrained back by Cakra, and unfortunately, he offered a smile that made Agatha quickly release his hand. She scowled in frustration.
Cakra smiled softly as he handed over some banknotes to the cashier woman, who then reciprocated with a smile. Clearly, since Cakra didn't take his change back, and of course, Cakra's smile always managed to melt the woman's heart.
Agatha, who chose to remain silent, eventually followed Cakra's steps out of the minimarket while carrying her purchases. She was still annoyed with Cakra's attitude, which she felt was trying to be a hero.
Especially when she saw him teasing the cashier woman earlier, Agatha was more determined not to deal with Cakra.
"Stop," Agatha ordered when they reached outside. She halted her steps.
"You're telling me?" Cakra, feeling addressed, turned and pointed to himself.
"Who else is here? Where are my things?" Agatha snapped, extending her hand to prompt Cakra to give her purchases.
But Cakra instead retreated. "Oh my, I can't. I haven't allowed you to take them yet."
"What?" Agatha raised an eyebrow, then let out a small sigh. "Oh, you want me to compensate? Fine, but my wallet is left behind. I'll go get it first."
"Not that," replied Cakra promptly, thwarting Agatha's intention to turn around.
"So why can't I take them? They belong to me. Do I need permission then?" Agatha raised an eyebrow, restraining herself from forcibly taking her purchases. Such an attitude would only make Cakra happy and further alienate her.
"Yes, you need my permission first as a reward." Cakra nodded calmly.
"So you're not willing to help me?"
"Don't you remember me?" Cakra asked, drawing closer.
"Campus Director," Agatha retorted, stepping two paces back to maintain a distance from Cakra.
Agatha didn't forget who the man was, but she didn't care. Instead, she became even more frustrated because Cakra brought up his title. He must've thought Agatha would fall silent, but unfortunately, she didn't at all.
"Wow, you have a good memory too. I thought you forgot about me." Cakra chuckled merrily. He allowed Agatha to create some space. It didn't matter as long as he could still talk to her.
"You're purposely tormenting me, aren't you?"
"Want to sit down and chat first?" Cakra raised an eyebrow. "Our conversation from last time isn't finished yet."
Agatha's jaw tensed. She scoffed sternly. "No need. I'm in a hurry, so quickly give me my stuff, and I'll get money for your reward."
"Your phone number. I want that first."
