Chapter 33 - Bad News
Knock... Knock... Knock...
"Come in," Angeline said when she heard someone knocking on her door. Kayle opened the door and came in with breakfast for Angeline.
"Madam, the butler told me to bring you breakfast and medicine. How is your current condition?" Kayle said putting the tray on the nightstand. He saw Angeline's cell phone lying there.
"I'm not feeling well and have no appetite. I'll just take the medicine and go back to sleep. You can bring the food again," Angeline said and took the medicine, drank it and lay down again.
Kayle kept staring at Angeline's cell phone, she hesitated a little because she was afraid she would get caught if she was careless.
"Why don't you come out?" Angeline asked, surprising Kayle.
"I'm going out now," Kayle said and quickly took Angeline's cell phone.
In the laundry room, Kayle was happy to have Angeline's phone and got ready to open it. However, Kayle was annoyed that the phone was still locked.
Kayle tried to open it, and the key was to enter a number pin. Kayle tried to calm down and picked up her phone to reflect in the light. He tried to find traces of fingerprints left on his phone screen and tried to remember them.
"Yes, but there are three numbers. That means there is a duplicate," Kayle said again, annoyed. It was going to be very difficult because Angeline's phone required a four-digit pin to open.
"He's really too thorough."
Bryan had arrived at the airport, waiting for his flight and looking at his cell phone. Bryan was very concerned about Angeline's condition, which he didn't have time to see. For some reason, Bryan was very reluctant to go to London.
The call for Bryan to board the plane immediately made Bryan give up his intention to call Angeline. Bryan walked to the plane. However, his steps stopped when his cell phone rang.
"Yes? Why did you call?"
"Mr. President, Mrs. Angeline's mother is in the hospital," said Bryan's bodyguard, who was assigned to take care of Angeline's family.
Bryan's footsteps stopped, he hesitated, turned around and left the airport immediately. John, who had just arrived, was confused because Bryan didn't get on the plane.
"President, where are you going?" John asked, stopping Bryan in his tracks.
"You go first, make an arrangement with Mr. Edward. "I'll follow," Bryan said, leaving John confused. But he couldn't delay his departure and went to the plane.
Bryan tried to call Angeline, Kayle, who was holding Angeline's cell phone, was surprised and confused because Bryan was calling. He was very worried and afraid of being found out. Kayle muted Bryan's call until it stopped.
Angeline's phone rang again and Kayle remembered something. He bravely answered the phone but said nothing.
"Angeline, are you still sick? Can you wake up? We... have to go somewhere," Bryan said, stopping Kayle's hand.
Kayle smiled mischievously and cleared her throat to answer Angeline's call. Bryan took that as a yes and turned off his phone.
Kayle hurried back to Angeline's room under the pretext of giving her a warm drink and quietly put Angeline's cell phone back in its place. Angeline was still sleeping soundly from the medicine she was taking.
When Kayle left the room, Angeline's cell phone rang again, waking Angeline up. With her eyes closed, Angeline searched for her phone and picked it up.
"Hello," Angeline replied in a hoarse voice.
"Are you ready?" he asked. Angeline saw who was calling and wondered why Bryan was calling her at this hour.
"Ready for what?"
"I already called to tell you to get ready. We have to go now."
"Now? When did you say that?"
"I'll be there in five minutes, so be ready at the door."
Bryan hung up and Angeline was surprised, but the feeling that something was urgent made Angeline get ready and follow Bryan's orders.
Five minutes later, Angeline, who was waiting in front of the house, immediately got into Bryan's car, which had stopped in front of him. And without waiting long, they were soon gone.
From behind, Kayle, who had also been waiting, immediately stopped a cab and asked the driver to follow Bryan's car.
"What's going on? I thought you were working," Angeline asked in surprise.
"Are you still sick?" Bryan asked when he saw Angeline's pale face.
"I'm fine, I just haven't had breakfast yet. What is it? Why are you asking me to leave all of a sudden?"
"Your mother... is in the hospital."
"What? Why can he?"
"The doctor said he had a heart attack and is currently being treated by the doctor."
"What? Mother... how is that possible? Even though you never had any complaints about your heart," Angeline said worriedly and started to cry.
Bryan was very confused and felt sorry, he even wanted to calm Angeline down. But his hands stopped and just remained silent, letting Angeline cry to her heart's content.
They arrived at the hospital and immediately went to Angeline's mother's room, which was in the VVIP room. Kayle, who had also come downstairs, followed the two of them, occasionally taking pictures.
"Doctor, what happened to my mother?" asked Angeline when she arrived at her mother's room.
"Your mother had a sudden heart attack, possibly due to fatigue and a side effect of the medication she was taking. However, we are still running tests and will let you know as soon as possible."
The doctor left and Angeline went straight to her mother's side. Her mother was still unconscious and Angeline was very worried. He was even crying again and holding his mother's hand.
"Mother... what happened? Why are you sick all of a sudden?" asked Angeline, but no one could answer. Bryan could only remain silent and let Angeline cry to her heart's content.
The atmosphere in the hospital became quiet. All the patients and their guardians had started to rest because it was already eleven o'clock at night.
After Bryan finished his work, he didn't see Angeline there, he came out of the ward and tried to contact Angeline. But Angeline didn't answer her calls at all. Even chats were not answered. Bryan decided to look for Angeline around the hospital. He went to the cafeteria, but Angeline wasn't there.
Bryan went around again looking for Angeline. He even went to the women's bathroom and was beaten up because he was thought to be a pervert. However, Bryan gave the excuse that he was looking for his wife and was afraid of fainting.
In the midst of his search, Bryan happened to run into Doctor Albert, who was about to go home after his curfew.
"Evening doctor, is Dr. Albert coming home?" said Bryan in a friendly manner. Doctor Albert was surprised and smiled when he saw Bryan coming.
"Evening too, yes, coincidentally my curfew is over. Mr. Bryan, what are you doing out at this hour?" Doctor Albert asked in surprise.
"Ah, I'm looking for my wife, she hasn't come back since she left the room half an hour ago," Bryan explained, feeling a little uneasy.
"That's okay, maybe Mrs. Angeline is still afraid to worry about her mother's condition," Dr. Albert said, understanding Angeline's heart.
"That's right, Angeline is very worried about her mother," Bryan said in response.
