Chapter 84 - Grandma's Message
Angeline saw Bryan helping Sera put on the necklace and it seemed like a romantic scene. However, Angeline's interpretation was probably different from reality. She probably thought that Bryan bought a beautiful necklace for Sera and lovingly put it on her.
Later, Angeline and Alex met an important person who had helped with Angeline's art show in New York. Angeline tried to concentrate, but her eyes kept wandering to the table where Sera and Bryan were sitting together.
"So when are you two getting married?" the person with them asked. Angeline and Alex were surprised.
"To be honest, I'm still trying to win Ellie's heart. But there's someone else I need to win over," Alex replied, looking at Angeline. Angeline knew that he meant Jason, her child with Bryan.
Sera was driven home by Bryan.
"Do you want to go see a movie with me this weekend?" Sera asked before going into their house.
"Forgive me, I have to decline this invitation due to personal matters. Maybe some other time, Sera."
"All right, it looks like a single and unhappy woman like me will be spending the weekend watching TV all day."
"How can you be single and unlucky? Lots of men are lining up for you, and all you have to do is pick one."
"I'll give up my single status when I find someone better than a certain someone."
Bryan didn't ask who that person might be and just nodded.
"Well, you should start dating soon, because it seems like you've forgotten how to hold a woman's hand."
"I'm practically a stone now."
"Well, it's not easy to be friends with an ex who turned into a stone like you."
They both laughed together.
"Well then, I should go," Bryan said, and after his car drove away, Sera mumbled as she watched him leave.
"But a stone like you is still the best for me. What should I do?" Ibu Angeline said.
Fully recovered, Angeline had opened a restaurant a year ago. She built the restaurant with her second child, Michael, who wanted to be with his mother even though he was studying law.
"The restaurant will close. You should go back to school. When do you graduate?" Angeline asked Michael.
"It's still a long way off, Mom. I'm only in my fourth semester. Why do you want to kick me out of the restaurant so bad?" Michael asked irritably.
"Just go home and let me take care of the restaurant."
"Fine."
randma looked at the clock and seemed to be waiting for someone. Before that person arrived, she prepared food. She kept looking at the clock, impatiently waiting for the person to come.
It turned out that the person she was waiting for was her former son-in-law, Bryan. Bryan arrived with his usual charming demeanor and approached Grandma, addressing her as Mrs. Mirae.
"Mis Mirae, why is this restaurant always empty when I come here? Don't you have many customers?" Bryan asked in surprise.
"Who would eat at this hour except for you?"
Grandma always felt happy when Bryan came, but she also hid her joy and acted as if Bryan's presence was nothing special.
"But I'm amazed that you keep coming to my restaurant, even though I think my cooking is ordinary," Grandma said.
"Yes, I'm like an addict. Have you added anything special to your dishes?"
"You rascal!" Grandma pretended to be annoyed and Bryan enjoyed seeing her like that.
"Hurry up and eat. I want to close the restaurant."
"Grandma's cooking is always delicious, and I could easily finish ten bowls of rice if it tastes this good."
Bryan had finished his meal and felt very full.
"When you're done, go home. If not, you might have to spend the night here."
Bryan didn't argue even though he wanted to stay longer. He briefly offered to drive Grandma home, but she didn't want to give him a chance to refuse.
After Bryan's car drove away, Grandma smiled. She was glad that Bryan always came, glad that he had a good relationship with her.
"It's a pity. He can't even ask the question he really wants to ask."
"Mom!"
Suddenly, a voice calling to her startled Angeline mother. It was her youngest daughter. She was delighted and immediately hugged Grandma. Grandma was equally happy and said she missed her mother.
"Oh my goodness! Who is this? Why didn't you tell me you were coming home today?"
Grandma was very excited because Angeline had returned, but she didn't realize that Angeline was not alone; she was with Alex. Alex smiled sweetly as he observed the happiness of mother and daughter.
Meanwhile, on his way home, Bryan suddenly remembered that he had promised to bring his company's shampoo for Grandma, but had forgotten.
"This shampoo is so gentle; I'm sure Mom will love it. How could I forget?"
Bryan turned his car around with the intention of returning to the restaurant to deliver the shampoo.
Bryan returned, but the restaurant was already dark and it seemed impossible to find Ibu inside. She must have gone home. Bryan tried to look in through the window and indeed there was no one in the restaurant.
Angeline and her family were gathering. They were enjoying the souvenirs Angeline had brought tonight.
"Big Brother, your appearance surprised me. If we meet on the street, I might not even recognize you," Michael praised Angeline.
"You look good too. Are you two on a date?" Michael asked Alex and got a slap from Ibu.
"Sorry Alex. Michael always talks without thinking. I'm always worried about him becoming a lawyer," Grandma said to Alex.
"It's okay. Angeline has never been able to express her true feelings and always uses shyness as an excuse to hide everything."
"You're right. Angeline is not good at expressing her feelings even when she likes someone."
Everyone laughed at Grandma's words, and Angeline was the only one who felt embarrassed.
"Everyone, please eat. Don't be shy," Grandma urged Alex to enjoy more watermelon.
"Okay, Mom," Alex said without hesitation, addressing Grandma as "Mom" just like Bryan. Grandma was a little surprised.
"Ah, did I go too far?"
"It's okay, you can call me whatever you want."
Bryan arrived in his room and saw many profiles of women who resembled Angeline on his table.
"What is all this?" Bryan muttered annoyed.
