Chapter 75 - Accident
Angeline went to Alex's cafe and greeted Alex who had just opened his cafe.
"Hi, did you just open the cafe?" Angeline greeted him. Alex was happy to see Angeline and approached her.
"What are you doing here so early?" he asked.
"I came to ask for your help. Are you busy?" Angeline inquired.
"No, I'll do anything for you," Alex replied. Angeline smiled happily.
"Well, tomorrow is Bryan's birthday and I want to make him a present. I want to make a mug like I used to."
Alex nodded without saying anything. He was a little disappointed that Angeline was asking for help with Bryan.
"Can I do it again?" Angeline asked and Alex smiled broadly.
Now Angeline was busy painting Bryan's face on the mug and the painting was almost done. All Angeline had to do was add the colors. The painting of Bryan's face on the mug was not cute, with a smile that was too wide.
After finishing the painting, Angeline wrote "Universe Dad" next to Bryan's face.
Alex stood by Angeline's side and watched with fascination until she finished the painting.
"Alex, do you think Bryan will like this present?"
"Bryan should definitely like this present. After all, it's a work of art by someone who's been recognized even by famous designers like myself," Alex joked.
"You know? When you say things like that about me, I really feel like a great person."
"What if Angeline learned to paint specifically? Who knows, it might be beneficial for you," Alex suggested. Angeline seemed interested and said she would think about it.
"So when is Angeline's birthday? I want to get Angeline a present."
"Ah, my birthday is tomorrow as well as Bryan's."
Alex's expression changed when he learned that Angeline had the same birthday as Bryan.
"Hmm, it does feel strange having the same birthday."
Meanwhile, in the office, John was explaining the details of his idea for Bryan's birthday party tomorrow.
"But why does the CEO suddenly want to celebrate his birthday? They don't usually do that," John asked, puzzled.
"Well, it's also Angeline's birthday."
"Wow, it turns out that Mrs. Angeline and the CEO have the same birthday. Not only that, you even experienced morning sickness at the same time. Maybe you were meant to be together."
Bryan laughed happily at what John said.
"Destiny? Angeline and I are meant to be together? Is that true? Just hearing that makes me happy. What if this destiny is really possible?" Bryan exclaimed happily.
Bryan was in a store choosing a gift for Angeline's birthday.
"What's good?" he asked, looking at a small pink diamond ring. It was simple, but looked quite luxurious.
"Will Angeline be happy if I give her this ring?" Bryan muttered and bought it immediately.
On the way back to the office, he was too excited to look at the neatly wrapped ring box on the passenger seat. Overwhelmed with joy, Bryan grabbed the box and tried to look at it.
However, he accidentally dropped the ring and tried to retrieve it near his foot without stopping the car. Unfortunately, an oncoming truck approached at high speed and took Bryan's lane.
When Bryan managed to retrieve his ring, he was shocked to see a truck in front of him and tried to swerve, but the collision was unavoidable.
Back at the office, the board of directors had gathered for their weekly meeting. Bryan hadn't shown up for half an hour, and they were starting to get annoyed and ready to leave the boardroom. John burst in with a worried look on his face and walked over to the speakerphone on the table to break the news.
"CEO Bryan had an accident and is now in the hospital."
Apparently Bryan was not seriously injured. He had swerved and hit a lamppost, hitting his head on the dashboard. Sera was the first to arrive at the hospital and waited by Bryan's side while he was still unconscious.
Soon Bryan regained consciousness and was surprised to see Sera standing in front of him. He even sat up from his bed.
"Bryan? Are you awake? I was so worried that something bad had happened to you. How did you get into an accident?" Sera asked worriedly.
"Sera, are we in London now?"
"What? Why are you talking about London all of a sudden? It's been a year," Sera replied, confused.
"CEO, you're awake?" John walked in and was glad to see Bryan awake. He held Bryan's hands as if he were holding his lover's and looked at Bryan meaningfully. In an instant, John hugged Bryan tightly as an expression of his relief that Bryan was awake. However, Bryan winced in pain as John hugged him.
"Let go, it hurts!"
"I felt like my heart was going to stop from worrying about you," John said, almost on the verge of tears, which was met with laughter from Bryan.
"So, did I have an accident before I got on the plane to London?"
"What?" John looked at Sera who shook her head. He knew that something was wrong with Bryan.
John and Sera went to see Dr. Edward immediately.
"It appears that Bryan is experiencing amnesia, but not all of it. He has only forgotten recent events. He remembers everything except what happened yesterday," the doctor explained.
"Can his memories come back? What do we do now?" John asked worriedly.
"Yes, Bryan's memories can come back soon if this amnesia is only caused by shock or mild stress. I don't see any brain damage in Bryan."
"So, for now, it's best to monitor Bryan's progress and we should avoid forcing him to remember all the events he's forgotten because it could be dangerous for Bryan," Dr. Edward continued. Sera and John nodded in agreement.
Bryan left his hospital room complaining about the heat. Then Sera came and kicked Bryan in the leg.
"Hey, why don't you listen to me? I told you to stay in your room."
"If I stay in the room when I'm not sick, I'll get really sick and I don't want that," Bryan replied.
"But your head hurts. What doesn't hurt?"
"The injury is not deep and it will heal in a few days. Then why are you still here and not in London?"
"Ah, it's a bit complicated. I can't explain it."
"Who dares to make my sera feel complicated? I must scold that person!" Bryan scolded, and Sera couldn't believe that Bryan called her his Sera. She belonged to Bryan.
"Did Bryan just say that I'm his Sera?"
"Well, of course, whose Sera are you if not mine?"
Then Sera hugged Bryan with great joy.
"Why, Sera?"
"It's nothing. I just liked hearing Bryan call me that. Bryan is Sera. I like it. With you here, it's like old times."
