Chapter 34 - Found Out
"Bryan?" called Angeline, who happened to meet Bryan and Dr. Albert when they returned to the room.
"Angeline, where have you been? "I have been looking for you for a long time," Bryan said worriedly and approached Angeline.
"She is just returning to the room. Why did you not fall asleep?" asked Angeline again.
"You disappeared from the room, how can I sleep?"
Angeline looked at Doctor Albert, it was clear that there was still fear on Angeline's face about the operation her mother was about to perform.
"Doctor, can't the operation be done?" Angeline asked, surprising Bryan and Doctor Albert who looked at each other.
"I mean, can the treatment be done another way? "Not with surgery, I... I'm really worried if I have to let Mom have another surgery," Angeline said about all the anxiety that had been surrounding her since yesterday.
Dr. Albert smiled slightly and tried to reassure Angeline.
"Miss Angeline, you don't have to worry, the operation that will be performed on your mother is not a complicated and difficult operation. However, if we don't do it now, your mother will have difficulties in the future. "Therefore, Miss Angeline must believe and believe that your mother will definitely be able to go through all this treatment," Dr. Albert explained, trying to convince Angeline.
"But Doc-"
"Angeline, think about your mother. Do you want your mother not to do everything she wants, like other mothers her age? I know you are very worried about your mother, but too much is not good. Let's trust your mother and Dr. Albert to make the operation smooth and successful. "So that your mother can recover as before," Bryan interjected, hoping that Angeline would understand. But Angeline still showed her worried face.
"If the operation goes well and your mother's condition improves, then your mother will be allowed to go home one or two weeks after the operation," the doctor said again and Angeline was stunned to hear this.
"So soon, Doc?" asked Angeline in disbelief.
"Yes, because of that, believe me, everything will go well and smoothly," said Doctor Albert again. After saying all this, Doctor Albert said goodbye.
After Doctor Albert left, Angeline still showed a worried face, so Bryan couldn't take Angeline to the treatment room now. He took Angeline's hand and led her to a corner of the nearby park.
Bryan slowly pulled Angeline along and sat down next to her. The two of them fell silent and enjoyed the quiet sounds of the night.
"Angeline," Bryan called.
"I'm fine, I just don't want to look worried to mom," Angeline said, holding back her tears.
Slowly, Bryan took Angeline's hand and pulled her to lean against Bryan's chest, who hugged her tightly.
Let Angeline cry to her heart's content. He let out all the sadness he had been holding in since last night. Maybe it was this feeling that had made Angeline so uncomfortable since last night.
The two of them returned to the room, Angeline sitting next to her mother's bed, constantly looking at and rubbing her mother's face as she slept soundly. Bryan looked at the clock, which showed twelve o'clock at night. Bryan could see how tired Angeline was. He felt like he couldn't stand it and went over to Angeline. His hand touched Angeline's shoulder and made her turn to him.
"Angel, sleep. "You look very tired and need to rest," Bryan suggested. But Angeline refused with a shake of her head.
"No, I... couldn't sleep at all. I still want to accompany Mother here."
"But you just need to take a short nap on the next bed. You still have to be healthy to accompany your mother to the operation tomorrow. You just rest, I'll wake you up at five in the morning," Bryan said, continuing to force Angeline.
Angeline was still silent and thought about Bryan's words, which had a point. Angeline looked at Bryan who nodded his head.
"Fine, but wake me up at three," Angeline said and stepped onto the bed.
Angeline also lay down, using the sofa pillow as her head pillow. With a face full of fear, Angeline finally fell asleep because she was tired all day.
In her sleep, Angeline's fear and worry were so great that she unconsciously cried in her sleep. Anxious expressions were clearly visible on her pretty face.
Bryan, who was sitting not far from Angeline, could see it. Angeline's brow furrowed and she fell asleep uncomfortably. Angeline kept mumbling like she was delirious. Sweat dripped down his still pale face. Even Angeline was writhing in a tightness and restlessness that made her breathing rise and fall unevenly.
Seeing Angeline's condition like that, Bryan got up from his seat and approached Angeline. He sat down on the chair next to Angeline's bed. Angeline's face was full of fear.
Bryan's hand reached out and rubbed Angeline's face. He gently stroked Angeline's thin mane of hair and slowly moved his body closer to Angeline. She kissed Angeline's forehead tenderly for a long time. As if she wanted to give Angeline peace of mind.
Angeline and Bryan were deeply saddened by the disaster that had befallen their mother. Besides, his mother's condition is not very good at the moment. Bryan gently patted Angeline's shoulder. No words came out of either of them. Just emotions coming together, sharing each other's fear.
Hoping that this is all just a dream that will disappear when they wake up. Unfortunately, this is not a dream. It's a bitter reality that Angeline has to live with.
Sean picked up his cell phone and tried to call John, who he thought was already in London.
"Hi John, did you arrive safely?" asked Bryan, feeling guilty for leaving his responsibility to John.
"Do you want me to die? I'm not going."
"What do you mean? Didn't you say that Mr. Edward really wanted to see you?"
"At first, but suddenly he canceled and rescheduled. And now I'm at the police station."
"What? What are you doing?"
"There's a little bug trying to destroy your flower," John said, looking at Kayle who was sitting in fear.
Kayle didn't even dare look at John who was smiling at her. Earlier, as John was about to board the plane, his cell phone rang and Mr. Edward's secretary informed him of the cancellation of the meeting due to sudden business.
John also canceled the flight and returned to the office, but, feeling anxious, he tried to follow Bryan. At the hospital, John happened to see someone very suspicious outside Angeline's mother's room.
John approached quietly, and just as Kayle was about to take a picture of Angeline and Bryan, he grabbed Kayle's cell phone.
"What are you doing?" Kayle asked, surprised to see who was standing in front of her.
"What are you doing? Taking pictures of people without their permission, do you know the penalty?" asked John angrily.
