Chapter 62 - Hurt Feelings
Angeline was surprised to see Bryan hugging another woman. Especially when Angeline saw who it was. The same woman Angeline had seen in the secret room.
The woman that Bryan seemed to love. Their intimate photos are still neatly displayed. The video of them looking happy together is still clearly recorded in Angeline's memory.
This made Angeline turn around and leave. Unfortunately, Bryan didn't follow her.
"Why don't you go after him?" Sera asked, making Bryan realize his mistake.
"Is she your wife?" Sera asked again and Bryan just nodded.
"Go and apologize to him, I... don't want to ruin your marriage. See you later," Sera said and left.
"Sera," shouted Bryan, who had lost his way. But Sera didn't answer Bryan's calls at all and continued to leave.
Angeline returned home and went to her room. Angeline felt hurt and cried when she remembered what happened there. Angeline regretted that she had come to Bryan's office. Angeline realized that she was not the woman that Bryan loved completely. He felt that all of Bryan's actions so far had been lies.
Bryan canceled his meeting and decided to go home. But Angeline didn't open the door to her room when Bryan kept knocking on Angeline's door.
"Angeline, let me explain what happened. Please open the door," Bryan asked, but there was no answer.
That night, Bryan just came out of his room and met Angeline who was having dinner. Bryan sat in front of her and tried to explain what had really happened.
"Angeline... I -"
"No need to explain, I almost forgot what our relationship was like. I've been too carried away by your kindness all this time. "I'm sorry if I was too presumptuous," Angeline said and finished eating.
Bryan looked at him with regret. After thinking about it for a long time, Bryan decided to try to explain it to Angeline again. Bryan went to Angeline's room, which was not locked.
"Angeline? Are you in there?" Bryan asked and entered Angeline's room. He didn't see anyone there.
Suddenly Bryan's cell phone rang and it was Sera. Bryan was surprised why Sera called him all of a sudden. Just as he was about to answer it, Angeline came out of the bathroom.
"Bryan? Why is she here?" Angeline asked, surprising Bryan. Bryan's cell phone even fell to the floor.
Angeline went to pick up Bryan's dropped phone, but Bryan rushed to hug Angeline's body.
"What are you doing?" Angeline asked in surprise.
"What do you mean?" said Bryan, not yet realizing that he was hugging Angeline, so he was confused to be asked that by Angeline.
"You're hugging me!"
"Ah, sorry," Bryan said consciously and hurried to release Angeline from his arms.
Bryan looked at his cell phone and immediately covered it with his foot. Sera continued to call Bryan because the call had been answered.
"Why don't you go to sleep now, it's late, right?" Bryan asked himself awkwardly.
"This is my room, so I'll just go to sleep. But why are you here?" Angeline replied in surprise.
"Ah, you're right, but why did you hug me from behind earlier?"
"What?" Angeline was surprised and confused. But Bryan used this astonishment to move the cell phone at his feet further away. He moved like a crab and walked to the side while still pointing at Angeline and saying that Angeline had hugged him earlier.
"I didn't hug you, what are you doing?"
"It's okay, good night," said Bryan, who managed to pick up his cell phone and leave Angeline's room.
Angeline looked at him irritably. He immediately turned sad when he saw who had just called Bryan. Angeline, who was tired of crying, decided to just sleep.
Bryan was in his room, he saw that his call had been disconnected. He hesitated to call Sera back. Bryan just sighed heavily because he had hurt Angeline.
Bryan couldn't sleep, he was still thinking about what happened today. Until his cell phone vibrated and Bryan was surprised to get a message from Angeline.
[Sorry for being angry, I forgot about our relationship. And thank you for making me happy until yesterday. From now on, I will be careful not to become a burden to you.]
Bryan sighed as he read the message. Bryan looked into the next room where Angeline was. Then suddenly his cell phone rang again and it was still a message from Angeline.
[When the time comes... like a post-it, without any residue, I will leave according to the contract. So don't worry.]
After reading the message, Bryan's face turned sad for some reason.
Unable to sleep, Bryan decided to work in his study. While he was seriously reading a document, he suddenly heard a strange and frightening sound outside. Bryan was curious and decided to investigate. Carrying a baseball bat, he intended to find and catch the owner of the scary voice.
The sound was like the sound in a horror movie where he heard creepy laughter. The shrill laughter was exactly like the laughter of demons in horror movies. Bryan walked quietly, still holding the baseball bat. But it turned out that the one making that creepy sound was Angeline.
"Angelina?" Bryan asked when he saw Angeline in the TV room.
With her hair pulled back from her face, she was trying to read the storybook she had bought at the bookstore. Angeline seemed to be living her role in the storybook. Bryan was relieved when he saw Angeline.
"Why are you still not asleep? Instead, she makes scary noises like a ghost. How can I sleep when I hear sounds like that?" Bryan asked, surprising Angeline.
Bryan sat next to Angeline and looked at the book Angeline was holding.
"Angeline, what are you doing?"
"Did I wake you?"
"No, but I'm disturbed by the sounds you're making. What's that?"
"It's nothing, you should go back to sleep. "I'm going straight to my room," Angeline said, embarrassed and not wanting to tell him that she was reading a story book.
"Answer my question, are you mad at me and did this on purpose?" Bryan asked forcefully, so that Angeline was finally open.
"I was reading a story, and how do you know if reading stories is good for the baby in the womb?"
"Is that true?" Bryan asked, interested. He took the story book and looked at its contents. Bryan felt strange because the pictures in this storybook were very scary.
"Aren't there a lot of happy and funny storybooks left?" Bryan asked in surprise, but in the end, Bryan continued to read the storybook to his son. The child still in Angeline's womb.
"Are you reading it?" Angeline asked in surprise.
"Don't bother, you can imagine what I'm reading," Bryan said and continued reading.
And sure enough, as Bryan read the story, an animation of the story Bryan was reading appeared. Meanwhile, Angeline was happy to hear that Bryan wanted to read stories to her baby.
