Chapter 37 - Shocking News

A bodyguard came to fetch Angeline. It was half past one, and Angeline didn't come down to leave right away. So the bodyguard Bryan had sent came upstairs to catch up with Angeline. "Go sis, I'll take care of mom. I'm sure your operation will go smoothly," Michael said, once again believing in Angeline. "Okay, I'll leave Mom. If anything happens, call me. I'll be here soon," Angeline said and Michael nodded in understanding. It was still hard for Angeline to leave, Michael gently urged Angeline to leave immediately. The bodyguard also asked Angeline to leave immediately. Like it or not, Angeline left. Arriving home, Angeline immediately got ready for tonight's event. He had to take a bath because of the smell of the hospital and make his body fresh. Angeline looked at her pale self from lack of drinking. "Bi, is there any medicine to refresh the body?" Angeline asked the butler who was pouring aromatherapy into the bath. "Madam, you look very pale. Is it better to call the doctor?" the butler asked worriedly. "No, that would be a waste of time. At least madam's stomach shouldn't be empty," the butler said and left. An hour later, Angeline had just finished showering and was trying on some clothes. He kept looking at the clock because his pickup was not usually late. Until a car pulled up right in front of Angeline's house. And a man got out of it. Angeline stared in amazement until she didn't move, even though she was told to get in the car. In the hotel lobby, Bryan had arrived and looked at the clock, which showed it was past seven. He looked around, Angeline was not there. "Where is Angeline now? Why hasn't he come yet?" Bryan asked John. "I'll call the president," John said and called the driver who had picked up Angeline. "I'm sorry sir, our car blew a tire on the road. And I still haven't found a repair shop around here," the driver said, surprising John. "President, Mrs. Angeline was not picked up by the driver we sent. In fact, he left half an hour ago," John said as he called the butler. "What? How come Angeline wasn't picked up, but she already left here? Did you call Angeline?" "I did, but he didn't answer." Bryan looked worried and the show was about to start. However, he couldn't wait for Angeline's arrival and decided to enter the event building. During the event, Bryan seemed uncomfortable. There was already Mrs. Rose who looked calm. Bryan and John were surprised and increasingly concerned. It was as if nothing was planned because Mrs. Rose was acting naturally. The event had lasted half an hour during the speech. Angeline arrived and was approached by John. "How did Madam get here? "I heard that the driver who was supposed to pick me up couldn't come," John asked in a whisper. "I'll tell you later, where is Bryan?" Angeline asked. John pointed to Bryan's seat and asked Angeline to sit next to Bryan. Angeline looks charming with make-up that is not too thick. The long dress with calf-length slit and V-cut makes Angeline very elegant and charming. Many guests looked at her in awe and praised Angeline's beauty. "Why did you just come? What brought you here?" Bryan asked in a whisper as Angeline sat next to him. "I'll tell you when I get home, the important thing is that I come and I'm not late?" Angeline replied. Bryan looked surprised, what actually happened that Angeline couldn't answer now. An employee stands on a stage and gives a presentation about his branch of the company. While showing the process of their project, suddenly Angeline's picture was there. Angeline and Bryan stared in surprise and John, seeing this, immediately ran to the operator. "Stop the projector, arrest those people over there!" John ordered. Unfortunately, Angeline's picture continued to play, leaving everyone in the audience shocked and stunned. Bryan couldn't say anything. Angeline was transfixed by the photo of herself smiling and laughing with Nicolas. Even the photo was so deceptive that it looked like Angeline was making out with another man. In fact, in the photo, when Angeline got out of the car, Nicolas, who was apparently taking care of Angeline, was seen holding Angeline's hand with a smile on both of their faces. Bryan stared at Mrs. Rose, who smiled sarcastically at the photos. Bryan also realized that this was Mrs. Rose's doing. People started gossiping and talking about Angeline having an affair with another man. Even about coming to this event with his mistress. "Is it true? It means the president chose the wrong woman." Meanwhile, John was busy arresting the person showing the photos and confiscating the flash drive and laptop he was using. Arriving at the hospital, Bryan took Angeline to the emergency room. He looked worried and sensed that Angeline hadn't just fainted. But things weren't all right either. The doctor and nurse took Angeline to be examined. Not long after that, John arrived and approached Bryan. "What happened? How could Angeline be with that man? Did you catch him?" asked Bryan with great emotion. "I ordered people to arrest the man and it turned out that he was still not far from the building. "I will check the veracity of the photos immediately," said John, who was also worried about Bryan. The doctor came out and looked for Angeline's guardian. "Miss Angeline's family?" "I'm her husband, how is my wife?" he asked. The doctor was silent for a moment and looked at Bryan hesitantly. "Your wife's condition is very bad, she is dehydrated and very weak. "We haven't found any serious problems, but we suspect something," the doctor said, making Bryan curious.
