Chapter 63 - Dilemma
The next day, Bryan met Sera, who asked to see him.
"Are you here already?" Sera asked when she saw Bryan sitting in front of her.
"Have you been waiting long?" Bryan asked feeling bad.
"No, what would you like to order?" Sera asked calling to the waiter.
"Just an Americano," Bryan replied, getting colder.
"I'm having a latte, it seems your taste hasn't changed," Sera said. Bryan just nodded slightly.
Not long after, their order arrived. The two of them still looked awkward, especially with yesterday's incident. Sera still felt bad about getting Bryan into trouble.
"I want to apologize for what happened yesterday," Sera said, breaking the silence between them.
"Why are you the one to apologize? I'm the one at fault. I should be the one to apologize to you."
"I've thought it all over, I shouldn't have greeted you that day. So this incident will not happen."
"Sera," called Bryan, who didn't accept it. He didn't want Sera to feel guilty.
"Bryan... you know, when I saw you again, I felt very happy. I feel that hope has returned to my life. I thought about returning to you. But it occurred to me that maybe that couldn't happen. "I am sorry for hoping for the impossible," Sera said, shedding tears.
Bryan was confused again, he felt in a dilemma. On the one hand, Bryan still loved Sera very much. Feelings that he had thought dead for a long time were now alive again. But on the other hand, Bryan is also confused about his feelings for Angeline. Was it all just a joke?
"I'm sorry, I... will think about it again," Bryan said and left Sera. Sera looked down and regretted her actions.
Bryan came to Angeline's room, who was already asleep.
"You must be really hurt because of me," Bryan said without waking Angeline.
"Don't live like a post-it girl. Living with me and being a nobody, that's not what I mean. Angeline, you are super glue. Have you forgotten that?" Bryan continued.
Apparently Angeline woke up and heard what Bryan wanted to say to her. Angeline was touched. He had been waiting for an answer from Bryan since yesterday and it turned out that Bryan had answered his message not in writing but right in front of him. Angeline smiled and looked at Bryan with a look of gratitude.
Suddenly, as Bryan was about to get up and leave, he fell and screamed in pain while holding his back.
"Ah! My back!" Bryan cried out in pain.
Angeline panicked and tried to help Bryan into bed.
"Why did you fall? "Sleep here, I'll sleep outside," Angeline said worriedly when she saw Bryan in pain.
Angeline also wanted to leave. Then suddenly Bryan woke up and prevented Angeline from leaving. He grabbed Angeline's hand, made Angeline sit back on the bed and now faced Bryan.
"Why are you like this, can't I sleep with you?" Bryan asked, making Angeline look surprised.
"I... heard that sleeping with your father makes the fetus in your womb stronger. "So how about we sleep together," Bryan suggested.
"What?" said Angeline in surprise.
"Don't get me wrong, we only sleep together until the baby is born. Instead of sleeping separately and making each other uncomfortable. I won't touch a strand of your hair."
"After what we did?"
"Ah... do I look like an idiot?"
"Yes, but... I know why you did what you did."
"What? You know?"
"Yes, I saw some people secretly taking pictures of us. Did you do that on purpose?"
"Since when did you know?"
"I didn't realize it at first, but after what happened yesterday, I thought so. "Ah... obviously your romantic attitude is just an act," Angeline explained and looked disappointed.
"Angeline... I -"
"It's okay, I'm fine. You said you wanted to sleep together until the baby was born? Okay."
"What?"
"Do you have weird feelings for me?"
"No."
"Me neither, so... we can sleep together in this bed, like a couple of things."
"Yes... like an object," Bryan replied with a wry smile.
"Then the person who leaves the room first and goes to the sofa or the person who accidentally falls from the bed to the floor is the person who has feelings for the other person," Angelin said and Bryan nodded and agreed to the idea.
They ended up on the same bed and both mumbled that they were objects. Yes, a few things.
It was so awkward that Bryan and Angeline turned around and faced each other. Bryan kept reminding him that he was just an object. He tried to close his eyes while continuing to mumble, "It's just a thing... just a thing..."
Angeline did the same, then whispered to herself, "It's definitely not nervousness, it's discomfort. Yes, discomfort."
Bryan opened his eyes and suddenly said that he was not an object. Then he closed his mouth and mumbled that he was an object, a second later he opened his eyes and said that he was not an object. And so on. Until finally they both turned around at the same time. And both were surprised.
They both felt their hearts beating fast. Beating with a different rhythm than usual.
"Ah, I'd better sleep on the sofa. "That's better," Angeline said, getting up and wanting to leave, but Bryan's hand pulled her and suddenly embraced her body.
Angeline was surprised to find Bryan holding her so tightly. And tried to escape. Bryan hugged him even tighter.
"Bryan, that violates our contract from earlier."
"Don't mind me," Bryan said as he suddenly let go of Angeline. Angeline was certainly surprised by Bryan's treatment, which changed 180 degrees in just a few seconds.
They both tried to be able to close their eyes tonight without the sound of their heartbeats being loud and certainly disturbing to both of them. Bryan covered his face with a pillow while Angeline turned her back to Bryan as she pulled the blanket. His heart was beating wildly.
Not long after, Bryan saw Angeline, who was already fast asleep.
"Wow, how can Angeline sleep in a state like this," Bryan said to Angeline. But then he patted Angeline's shoulder, hoping that Angeline would fall asleep.
The next morning, Bryan, who looked good in his sports clothes, wanted to start the day with a morning run. He smiled as he looked down at his ring finger, which now had a wedding band on it. After smiling contentedly at his wedding ring, Bryan began to run. He looked excited.
"Good morning, Bryan," Alex said suddenly, passing by and continuing to run.
"Why does he have to come this way?" Bryan muttered irritably, feeling that Daniel had beaten him to it.
Bryan quickened his pace and Alex followed. In the end, both of them were busy running and trying to get to the front. Neither wanted to give up.
"Hey, don't you want to give up?" Bryan asked, starting to get tired, he was already stumbling.
"Listen, there's no word in my dictionary for giving up."
"I'll buy you a new dictionary!" shouted Bryan exhausted.
Finally, Alex fell down because he was actually very tired. Bryan laughed with satisfaction as he saw Alex collapse, defeated. Not far from where Alex fell, Bryan also fell. They were both tired and couldn't run anymore.
