Chapter 48 - Uninvited Guest
Knock... Knock...
"Come in!" said Bryan when he heard a knock on his room door from outside.
"Excuse me President, there are guests to see you," said the secretary.
"Who?" asked Bryan, who was seriously reading the results of the meeting.
"Mrs. Viola President."
"I can't, I'm busy. Tell me not to come back," Bryan flatly refused.
"Yes President Director," the secretary said and left.
The secretary went to her office and called the receptionist who was in the waiting room to receive Viola's arrival.
"President Bryan doesn't want to see me. Tell me not to come back."
"Good."
The receptionist walked over to Viola, who was waiting for an answer.
"He must have accepted, right? "I told you, Bryan won't refuse my arrival even if I don't make an appointment with him," Viola said, getting up from her seat.
"Sorry, miss, but the president refused to meet. "He said not to come back because there was no need," the receptionist interrupted.
"What? Too bad! I'm not going. "Maybe he's busy, but then he won't be busy anymore," Viola said, deciding to sit down and wait again.
The receptionist had no choice and returned to her seat.
An hour later, Bryan, who was chatting with John, got a call from his secretary.
"Hold on, John," Bryan said and picked up the phone.
"Yes."
"Sorry, President, but Viola wants to see you again."
"I told you not to accept. Just get him out of here," Bryan said angrily and immediately hung up the phone.
"What's wrong, President? "You sound very angry," asked John, who was still on the line.
"Yeah, you know Viola? He keeps pestering me. "He even asked for a meeting twice," Bryan said, surprising John.
"Even after you turned him down, he asked to meet again?"
"Yes."
"Just bring him in and reject him outright. If it's just through your secretary, he won't give up."
"You're right, but I'm too lazy to talk to him."
"I know, but don't give him a good opportunity to do something unexpected."
"You mean?"
"Meet your wife in person, as often happens out there. Make sure your wife is not disturbed."
"Never mind, I'm tired of thinking about this problem. Where did our discussion go?" Bryan asked and decided to just talk about work.
At the cafe, Alex soon arrived and brought fresh drinks for the pregnant woman. Angeline drank them quickly. He looked very thirsty. They continued to paint the room.
With the outside decoration completed, they now moved to the inside. Angeline was seen arranging the glasses and Alex looked at Angeline who was full of enthusiasm. When Angeline wanted to put the glass on the top shelf, Angeline had a hard time because she wasn't tall enough. Alex approached Angeline and helped her. Angeline was a little surprised, but then she smiled. They both smiled.
Another exciting activity is the drawing part.
"Are you going to draw all the cups?" Angeline asked.
"Of course, do you want to? Draw as freely as you like."
"Fun!" shouted Angeline very enthusiastically. He started to draw a cute baby on the cup. Alex suddenly arrived with a big camera and captured the moment. He was happy to see Angeline's smile.
Angeline finally realized that Alex was taking a picture of her. She looked at the camera with a confused face, but Alex took the opportunity to continue photographing Angeline.
"Why are you taking my picture?" Angeline protested sheepishly.
"Sorry, I will use this photo as a souvenir, because for me you are the first visitor of this cafe," Alex explained.
"Hmm... It's up to you. Try taking my picture!" Angeline just believed him and started posing for the photo again.
After that, Angeline started drawing again. Meanwhile, Alex took as many portraits of Angeline's face as he could.
This time Angeline smiled very sweetly when Alex's camera was pointed at her. Even though Angeline is shy, she enjoys all the activities here.
While taking pictures of Angeline, Alex accidentally saw a scratch on Angeline's arm.
"Why did your arm hurt?" Alex asked as he showed Angeline's scratches.
"I don't know why I got those scratches either." Angeline answered innocently.
Alex, who was a little worried, took the medicine box and then treated Angeline's wound. He sterilized the wound and then put a nice plaster on Angeline's arm.
"I'm sorry, I feel bad that I made you worry about such trivial things."
"Don't keep saying sorry. If you keep doing it, it will become a habit. Replace sorry with thank you," said Alex, who was annoyed by Angeline's innocent attitude.
Alex now relaxes with Angeline. With two hot drinks and some snacks for both of them. Angeline ate everything greedily. His eyes kept staring at the cup he had drawn earlier.
"Your drawing is beautiful. Very good for beginners," Alex praised.
"Hehehe thank you."
"Whose drawing is this?"
"This is my baby. I hope my child will be as beautiful as this drawing."
"Why not draw his parents too?"
Angeline suddenly became sad at Alex's words.
"What is it?"
"Ah, it's okay hehe..." Angeline remembered Bryan. He took a deep breath. Alex just looked at him confused.
It was already afternoon when Angeline came home, accompanied by Alex on foot.
"Even if it's okay, I'll go home alone."
"It's dangerous to walk alone this afternoon. It'll be night soon, and you could be kidnapped," Alex said without meaning to offend.
"What the hell, that's really bad," said an annoyed Angeline.
"Hahaha, that's not funny, huh." Alex scratched his head, which didn't itch.
Arriving at the front of the house, Angeline thanked Alex for dropping her off.
"I live here," Angeline said, making Alex stare at the house, which looked familiar.
Then the lights from the car blinded Alex and Angeline. They turned to the source of the light and saw Bryan getting out of the car. Bryan looked meaningfully at Alex and vice versa. Bryan approached with many questions in his heart, who would this man be? He didn't even take his eyes off Alex, who was with his wife at this time of night. She looked at Alex with a sharp look as if she didn't like him, while Angeline smiled warmly to welcome her husband's return.
"Why are you out of the house at this hour?" Bryan asked.
"Huh? Evening? It's still afternoon," Angeline said defensively.
"Then who is this man?" Bryan asked again, looking at Alex coldly.
"Good evening, Bryan. Allow me to introduce myself, Alex. I happen to live in the area and am in the process of opening a cafe nearby. What a coincidence, I also wanted to meet Angeline's husband for a long time," Alex said greeting Bryan.
Bryan replied with an indifferent laugh.
