Chapter 79 - Farewell 2
Sera looked at Bryan incredulously.
"I'm also sorry that our precious six years have to end in vain. All this is my fault, not Sera's. So I want Sera not to be hurt by this parting," Bryan said.
"No, it's definitely Angeline's fault, because Angeline is the one who caused all this. If there was no Angeline, none of this would have happened. I can't let you go. How could I let you go? I never imagined my life without you," Sera said, tears streaming down her face.
Bryan remained silent, saying nothing. He regretted putting Sera through all this.
Alex was at a club where his friend was the DJ, saying goodbye before leaving for France, possibly never to return. As Alex was about to leave, he caught the arm of a woman who was about to fall.
"Are you okay?"
It turned out to be Sera. Alex remembered her as Bryan's former fiancée. Sera looked drunk and could barely stand upright. Her body was limp, which was why she had almost fallen earlier.
"Sorry about earlier. But even though you're in so much pain, don't hurt others because of it. You seem to be in pain. And you'll only get colder because of it."
"Haha, thank you for the advice you just gave me. But I can't accept your advice. Do you understand? I've lost a lot and suffered a lot. The world might be warm and beautiful for you, but for me there's only one thing left... pain".
Bryan asked Yasser's lawyer to come in. Yasser's lawyer handed over the revised divorce agreement and read its contents.
"Angeline and Bryan will divorce if Angeline so desires. Angeline will also receive alimony, even if she refuses. Finally, Bryan and Angeline will share custody of their child equitably until the child reaches the age of majority."
Surprisingly, Bryan tore up the divorce agreement letter, leaving Yasser's lawyer stunned.
"The first and previous divorce agreement letter is no longer valid. I will draw up a new one. First, I want Angeline to have full custody of our child without any conditions. Second, after the divorce, Angeline will receive two million dollars a month from me as alimony. Third, upon my death, Angeline and our child will inherit all of my assets on a 50-50 basis."
"Mr. President, are you making a will right now? Why does it have such strange terms?" Yasser's lawyer asked in surprise.
Sera invited Angeline to meet her at a restaurant.
"Has Bryan told you that he wants to separate from you?" Sera asked.
"No, but I'm also sure that Bryan doesn't want a separation."
"Why do you think Bryan doesn't remember his marriage? It's because he wants to forget it. Even in his subconscious, Bryan hopes that the marriage never happened, which is why he forgot about it".
Then, in a very annoying manner, Sera handed Angeline the revised divorce agreement.
"Read this divorce agreement."
Angeline looked at the contents of the divorce agreement. It was very different from Bryan's original or even the latest divorce agreement letter.
"Bryan will pay Angeline alimony. Angeline is also not allowed to discuss any of this with the media. And finally, Angeline will have custody of the child."
"You know, Bryan only needs the child to maintain his status in the company. He doesn't need you," Sera explained, making Angeline cry as she remembered everything that had happened between her and Bryan.
After meeting Sera, Bryan was the one who invited Angeline to meet him at 8 o'clock tonight. Angeline soon arrived at the place Bryan had chosen, where Bryan was already waiting for her.
"What does Bryan want to tell me? You better say it now," Angeline asked, sounding tired. Bryan didn't answer but handed a package to Angeline.
"What is this?" Angeline asked and opened it to find a Mug Semesta (Universe Mug).
"The Universe Mug doesn't fit the atmosphere of my home. Your role as my grandmother's grandson-in-law and as my wife ends today. I want you to leave," Bryan said coldly, without any remorse.
Angeline looked at Bryan in disbelief. She was on the verge of tears but tried to hold them back.
"I will give you enough money for you and our child, according to our previous agreement. And you can keep this," Bryan continued, casually returning her wedding ring as a sign that he no longer wanted this marriage.
This hurt Angeline more and more.
"I must have made a big mistake for you to treat me like this. Just tell me what I did wrong. I will fix it. When I heard that you lost your memory and forgot about our marriage, someone said you wanted it that way. I don't believe it, and I'm sure you can't just erase your feelings of love for our child. I have always foolishly imagined everything beautiful by myself. I believed everything by myself like a fool. I also hoped alone, like a fool."
"Stop it. No one will sympathize with you even if you act pitiful. Didn't I tell you that no one can be with you forever, so you have to fight alone. Angeline, how long were we together? Just three months. If you can't forget such a short time, how can you survive in this world alone? You even have a child."
"Okay, I agree to this separation," Angeline said, shocked at how cruelly Bryan spoke to her.
Bryan nodded blankly. Even if he didn't want to, he had to do it.
"I'll walk you home," Bryan said. He walked beside Angeline. When they reached a crosswalk, Angeline spoke.
"You can leave me here," Angeline said.
"I will always pray for your happiness, wherever you are."
"I want to know if there is any happiness left for me now. I feel like I've used up my happiness dreaming. Since I met you, Bryan, everything has happened to me that I could never have imagined. Bad things have turned into good things," Angeline replied with a sad smile.
"This time, my message to you is not to look back, but to look forward and move on."
Angeline nodded and began to cross the street with the other pedestrians. Before she reached the other side, Bryan called her name, causing Angeline to turn and look at him.
"Don't be too friendly. Be more confident and don't underestimate yourself. Remember, you're superglue."
Angeline smiled and nodded, then continued walking.
Suddenly Angeline stopped. She remembered that Bryan had just said something similar. That meant that Bryan remembered everything. She turned and saw Bryan walking away. Angeline called out to him and Bryan heard her. But Bryan told himself not to look back.
