Chapter 38 - The Truth Is Revealed

Bryan and John were shocked when they heard the doctor's words. Bryan had even forgotten about it. Something that had become an agreement between him and Angeline. That means the contract period for both of them starts today. "We will confirm this with an ultrasound, because it looks like he is still too young," the doctor continued. "Good, thank you." "But doctor, is it possible? I don't think we did it for less than a month. "And not on the day of ovulation," Bryan asked, feeling doubtful. "Do you know when your wife's first menstruation was?" "Ah... I don't know, but before we... I thought she had just finished menstruating. Can... that be used as a prediction?" "The last day of menstruation cannot be used as a possible fertilization date. Because not all women have the same menstrual cycle. And not all have regular menstruation. John asked as he came in and immediately threw the photos of Nicolas and Angeline on the table. "Right, what is it exactly? Why did you bring me here all of a sudden?" "Do you know the woman on the photo?" Nicolas took the photo, his eyes widening when he saw who was on the photo. "Madame Angeline, but what is this?" "I know you are the gardener, but why did you accompany Mrs. Angeline to the hotel today?" "Ah... someone called me to do some work. Besides taking care of the garden, I also took on the job of being a substitute driver. At first I didn't know if the person I was picking up was Mrs. Angeline. "Yes, I can show you the order," Nicolas said, showing him his cell phone, which contained a conversation with someone who had actually ordered a pickup at Bryan's house. "You're not lying, what about this photo?" John asked, showing the photo as Nicolas and Angeline arrived in the hotel lobby. Nicolas was seen holding Angeline's hand and the two of them appeared to be kissing, although it wasn't very clear. "Who took this picture?" "What do you mean?" "Mrs. Angeline doesn't look well, she can't even walk properly. I helped him walk and he almost fell. But he and I... didn't do anything inappropriate like that." "Inappropriate?" "I know, Mrs. Angeline is married and very fond of her husband. "That's why I've been cold to her the last few days and haven't come for three days," Nicolas said, remembering how pale Angeline's face was. "Are you all right? Shall we go to the hospital?" Nicolas asked as they arrived at the hotel lobby. "It's okay, I have to get there. "Someone is waiting for me," Angeline said as she walked. But his steps were unbalanced and he almost fell. Nicolas grabbed Angeline's hand and helped her to walk. "I'll take you there, you can't be late, right?" Nicolas said and finally escorted Angeline to the meeting room. Again, John couldn't believe that the people who slandered Mrs. Angeline were very good at manipulating a photo. A man enters and shows the CCTV footage in the hotel lobby. John saw that and everything Nicolas said was all true. "You can go, and don't ever say anything strange when someone asks about your relationship with Mrs. Angeline," said John and was about to leave. "Wait, is Mrs. Angel okay?" Nicolas asked. 'He is fine, and is in the hospital. But, I've been curious since earlier, why... did you call Mrs. Angeline... Angel?" "Ah, we agreed to call our first names. Mrs. Angeline also calls me Nick." 'I see, it's nothing special. OK, thank you for your cooperation." John sent the CCTV footage to Bryan via chat. Bryan saw it and breathed a sigh of relief. He knows what to do next. "John, could you clear up this tape and post it on the company website?" said Bryan calling John. "Ready President, I will do it soon," said John and turned off his cell phone. Bryan was still faithfully waiting, he saw Angeline who was fast asleep. His face was still very pale and looked thin again. Bryan felt guilty for not paying much attention to Angeline's recent state. Work is very demanding to not be able to spare time. He was sure that Angeline did not play with fire with any man. For some reason Bryan felt guilty because Angeline had fainted because she must have been shocked by all the photos. Now both of them can breathe a sigh of relief because the slander can end and become clear. Bryan promised not to let anyone hurt Angeline again. He didn't want Angeline to suffer like this. Being his wife, doesn't mean Angeline has to experience all these horrible things. Bryan was quite regretful for not defending Angeline right in front of everyone. Because after all it was Bryan's fault that had made Angeline lonely because she didn't come home every day. Bryan believes Angeline just wants to spend time without feeling bored. Therefore, Bryan will take his time from now on.
