Chapter 49 - Jealousy
Bryan snorted at Alex's words.
"Since when do you want to know me?"
"Because I'm Angeline's neighbor here, of course I'm very curious about Angeline's husband."
Bryan laughed out loud when he heard that Alex was Angeline's neighbor. Suddenly he saw Angeline's arm covered in a cast.
"What's that stupid cast on your arm?" Bryan asked changing the subject.
"Ah, it's just a little cut. It's just a scratch."
"Actually, the wound happened when Angeline was with me. I'm sorry, I should have been able to protect Angeline," Alex added, looking sharply at Bryan, who didn't know what he was thinking.
But it managed to annoy Bryan.
"Hey, it's not like that, it's my own fault. You don't have to talk like that," Angeline said uncomfortably. Bryan was getting more and more annoyed to see the two of them getting along so well.
"Okay, thank you for escorting 'my wife'. Come on in," said Bryan, emphasizing the word "my wife" and pulling Angeline in immediately.
"Bye," Angeline said, waving to Alex.
"Call me if anything happens, okay?" Alex asked in a whisper, making a phone sign with his hand. Angeline nodded with an okay sign.
Bryan even turned around to see Alex's warm attitude toward his wife.
Bryan and Angeline entered the house. Angeline walked behind Bryan. When Bryan suddenly stopped, Angeline stopped as well. Bryan turned to look at Angeline.
"When did you have neighbors like that man? Didn't you just live in this neighborhood? This is really unbelievable."
"What's wrong with Bryan? Is it true that I can't have friends here? You're busy at your new office. I get lonely when I'm alone all day."
"But can't you find female friends your own age?"
"Ah, I don't know. You're annoying today."
"Okay, have you eaten?"
"That's it, I'm going to take a shower first. I'm really tired hehhe," Angeline said as she went into her room.
Now Bryan is doing his work in his room. But for some reason Angeline's neighbor Alex disturbed her thoughts.
"Ah, doesn't he have any shame? How dare he ask Angeline to call him if anything happens? Angeline already has a husband. Why call someone else? You shameless man," Bryan muttered angrily.
Not long after, Bryan's cell phone rang with an incoming call in Sera's name. Bryan was confused, but finally answered the call.
"Finally you answered my call, are you busy? It's been a long time since I heard your voice," Sera said happily.
"Well, that's it, when are you coming back?" Bryan asked with a cold face.
"Hmm, maybe next week, do you miss me?" Sera asked with a big smile.
"No, I just want to say..." Suddenly, after he had finished this sentence, Bryan heard Angeline screaming in the bathroom.
"Sera, I'll call you back." Bryan closed frantically.
In the bathroom, Angeline was having trouble with the shower water that kept spraying and she couldn't turn it off. He tried, but kept failing. He couldn't handle the strong shower water. Bryan entered and almost fell because the bathroom floor was very slippery because of the large pool of water. Bryan tried to keep his balance.
Bryan did his best to calm the shower that seemed to be raging at that moment. Finally, the shower tap was turned off, even though Bryan had to get soaked.
"Bryan, are you okay?" Angeline asked worriedly.
"What happened, why did everything turn out like this?"
"Hehe, I just wanted to clean up after the shower, but I didn't know it would turn out like this."
"Don't do anything weird. Let it be Auntie's job. Auntie cleans the bathroom and other places, so you don't have to bother." Bryan scolded.
"Excuse me."
Angeline, shivering with cold, apologized to Bryan. Bryan panicked knowing that Angeline was shivering, he rushed to get lots of towels and wrapped them around Angeline's body to keep Angeline warm.
"Here, don't get sick over this."
"I'm fine."
"You might catch a cold later, so you need to dry yourself off. Look, you're soaking wet," Bryan said again and rubbed Angeline's head to dry her wet hair.
Angeline was touched, very touched by Bryan's warm treatment. In fact, she felt quite warm against his shivering body. The two of them were silent in the bathroom, their bodies warming even though they were both soaking wet. A blush adorned both of their faces. Until Angeline, who had regained consciousness, moved her body slightly and made Bryan stop.
"Just leave it to me, Bryan," Angeline said, continuing to dry her own hair.
"Okay, do it right. It's still wet."
"Yeah, thanks in advance. I wanted to help."
"Yeah, don't forget to change your clothes. And use eucalyptus oil so you don't get cold. I'm going out first, I want to change too." Bryan came out of the bathroom and breathed a sigh of relief.
"What were you thinking, Bryan?" Bryan asked quietly.
Meanwhile, Sera looked at her phone in surprise. So far, Bryan had never hung up the phone and ended the call first. But Bryan did it earlier. What is this?
The next day was Angeline's day to attend a pregnancy class. He still wanted to attend the class, even though he had to be alone. Meanwhile, Bryan was busy working. Still, Angeline seemed excited about the class.
This class is about sewing the first clothes for babies. But the fun turned to confusion when the teacher told the fathers that they should be the ones to sew these first clothes.
"The father must use his heart and be sincere in every stitch."
The instructor also asked the fathers to get ready to thread the needle right away. He went to see the participants in his class and arrived at Angeline's table.
Angeline decided to join in the sewing and the teacher was surprised because Angeline came alone, so he approached Angeline.
"Is your husband too busy to let Miss Angeline come alone to the maternity class?"
"Hehehe, he's really busy, and he's also bad at things like that."
Suddenly a distinctive voice was heard asking, "Am I bad?"
Angeline turned to the source of the sound and was surprised to see it was Bryan. Bryan came over with a very typical sweet smile. Bryan even repeated the lame words Angeline had said to him over and over again as he walked over to Angeline's table.
"Mr. Bryan, you are late," the teacher said.
"Isn't it better that I come than not at all?" said Bryan and was immediately nodded awkwardly by the teacher.
Angeline said to herself that she was happy with what Bryan had done by coming to this class.
"Bryan, he said he was busy. Why are you here? I can do it myself," Angeline asked in surprise.
"You said our child will feel it? So don't make him angry while he's still in the womb. Then our child will sulk," Bryan joked.
