Chapter 89 - Meeting the younger sibling
Angeline was looking at the painting "Missing" with various emotions when suddenly Alex came and hugged her from behind, startling her.
"Alex, what's wrong?" Angeline asked, pulling herself out of Alex's embrace. "Why are you hugging me all of a sudden? Is something wrong?"
"I just got a call from London that my younger sibling has been found," Alex replied.
"Really?" Angeline said, sharing his joy. She hugged Alex tightly. "Do you want me to go with you tomorrow when you meet your sibling?"
"Of course, I'd like you to come with me," Alex replied, and Angeline readily agreed.
That night before going to sleep, Bryan sent a chat to Angeline, still playing the role of Bella. The scene in the park seemed to repeat itself, but this time they were just exchanging chat messages, as if they were having a conversation.
Both Angeline and Bryan had already retired to their respective beds.
Bryan (as Bella): Bella, tomorrow the Missing painting will be delivered to your house. Can I deliver it to you personally? I really want to meet you.
Angeline: I'm sorry, but it seems I can't meet anyone right now. My face is covered with acne. Ellie knows that a woman's face is everything.
Bryan (as Bella): I understand the feeling. Would you like to try using tea tree oil? It's great for the skin and the pores.
Suddenly Angeline sits up and leans back against her pillows and Bryan seems to feel it. He also sat up as if Angeline was sitting next to him.
Angeline: The missing painting will be delivered as planned. But I hope you'll reconsider my request. If you like, I can paint something else according to your wishes.
Bryan (as Bella): That's an interesting offer, and I'll think about it.
Angeline: Does Bella have children?
Bryan was surprised by Angeline's question, but he answered anyway.
Bryan (as Bella): Yes, I have a child. A very handsome one.
Angeline: I hope to meet your child one day.
Bryan (as Bella): If we can make that happen, that would be great.
Angeline: All right, good night.
Bryan (as Bella): You too, sweet dreams.
They finally ended their conversation, which had felt so real, with Bryan saying good night to Angeline. Angeline closed her eyes after receiving the good night message.
The next morning, John stormed into Bryan's office in a fit of rage. He was furious because Bryan had gone on a business trip without telling him, like a thief.
"Did you call me a thief?" Bryan snapped back, irritated, and John immediately changed his tone.
"No, I mean why did you go on a business trip without telling me? Grandma asked me all kinds of questions and I couldn't answer any of them. So next time, please tell me before you go on a business trip."
"Hah... why are you and Dr. Edward so obsessed with me? Why doesn't John find a girlfriend to stop bothering me?"
"When can I get a girlfriend? It's really hard following you around all the time," John replied in frustration.
Unexpectedly, when John heard the word "girlfriend," he seemed to know that Bryan had gone to Ellie's exhibition, as he had informed him back then.
"Did you really go?"
Bryan didn't answer and tried to hide his face under the table.
"Look up and be honest with me. Did you... really go there?"
"There will be a package delivered to your mother's house later, and when it arrives, I'll have it sent directly to me," Bryan said, trying to change the subject.
"How secret is this package that the CEO had it sent to your mom's house instead of yours?"
"You should stop being so curious about me and just do as I say."
"Alright, can you finish all these documents now?" John asked and Bryan just looked tired with a stack of documents on his desk.
Alex looked nervous as he waited for his sister. Angeline noticed and immediately took Alex's hand.
"Do I look stupid?" Alex asked and Angeline shook her head.
"No, you look sweet," Alex smiled.
"Don't overdo it, just talk like someone my age. Can you believe people still call me cute at my age?"
"Alex, don't worry, this is the moment you've been waiting for."
"Okay."
Not long after, a girl arrived with a man from the detective agency, and they both greeted Alex with a bow as soon as they saw him.
"Alex," the girl exclaimed and ran to hug Alex. Alex was still surprised, stunned, and didn't return the hug.
"Big brother, I miss you so much."
"This is proof of the DNA match between Alex and Angel. In fact, the DNA match is 99%. And Angel has scars just like Alex mentioned," the detective explained and handed over a document. Alex read it with sparkling eyes.
"Thank you for finding my sister, Angel," Alex said happily.
"You're welcome. I'm glad I found your sister too."
"Uncle Detective, thank you for reuniting me with my brother," Angel said.
"Yes, moments like this are why I love my job. Well, I'll take my leave then."
After that, the detective left Alex with two women at his side.
"Angel, I want you to meet Angeline," Alex introduced Angeline to his sister. Alex's sister looked at Angeline as if she didn't like her. Meanwhile, Angeline smiled warmly at Alex's sister.
"Hello, I'm Angeline and I'm so happy that Alex has finally found his long lost sister. Well then, I'll leave you two alone," Angeline said, not wanting to interrupt Alex's time with his sister, so she decided to leave. Alex clearly wanted to spend time alone with his sister, so Angeline decided to leave.
"I'm sorry I can't walk you home," Alex said.
"It's okay."
Sera was busy teaching her ballet students. It seemed that none of her students were enthusiastic about practicing. Sera turned off the music.
"Why aren't you all excited?"
"Teacher, it's really hot today. Can we take a short break?"
"It's too hard, I can't do it anymore."
"Okay, let's take a ten-minute break," Sera agreed to her students' request for a break.
"And I'll buy you some ice cream," Sera added. Her students obviously cheered with joy.
Now they were in an ice cream shop, sitting at one of the tables.
"Come on, order whatever you want. The sun will rise tomorrow, and a bowl of ice cream won't ruin your lives," Sera said with a smile.
The students were happy and ate their ice cream.
"Teacher Sera, why don't you have ice cream with us?"
"I'm going to order ice cream, too. But it's a different flavor than yours."
Sera chose plain ice cream. It seemed to be her favorite. Ice cream that probably had a story in its life. Sera looked at the ice cream and started to enjoy it.
Sera looked at her phone and there was still a picture of her with Bryan.
"If only Bryan, that stubborn rock, would contact me first, then I would be more satisfied," Sera whispered hopefully. But as it turned out, Bryan didn't contact her.
