Chapter 65 - Revelation
The gossip about Bryan, Angeline, and Sera circulating among the upper class and within the company became a hot topic of discussion in various places. People wondered what was really going on behind the story. Some media outlets even started digging deeper to find out the facts behind the gossip.
Bryan was very frustrated with all of this. He felt that he needed to resolve this situation before it became an even bigger problem. So he contacted Angeline and asked her to meet with him.
"Angeline, we have to talk about this. I can't take all this gossip and slander anymore," Bryan said as they met at one of their favorite cafes.
Angeline looked at Bryan with a mixture of concern and guilt. "I'm frustrated with all this too, Bryan. It's all lies and we need to tell everyone the truth."
The two began to strategize on how to deal with the gossip. They decided to give an interview to a trusted media outlet and explain that their relationship was the result of true love. They would clarify that Angeline was pregnant because they both loved each other and for no other reason.
Meanwhile, Sera felt extremely jealous and angry when she heard this gossip. She knew that Bryan still loved Angeline and that their relationship was just a plan to take care of their baby. However, she was hurt by the fact that Bryan was so close to Angeline.
Sera decided to find out more about the real relationship between Bryan and Angeline. She began spying on them, trying to gather evidence that their relationship was a sham.
Meanwhile, Bryan and Angeline began giving interviews to carefully selected media outlets. They explained that they were going to be a happy family and that the baby about to be born was the result of their true love. They both showed the strength of their relationship and promised to protect their family from all gossip and intrigue.
The gossip was still a big topic among the upper class and within the company, but at least Bryan and Angeline had given their explanations and tried to calm the situation. They both felt that this was the first step in facing their future together with the soon to be born Semesta.
Frustrated by Madam Rose's phone call, Angeline decided to go for a walk that day, leaving behind the cooking she had been doing earlier. She gently rubbed her belly where Semesta was growing.
"Semesta, I'm sure you've been bored lately because I haven't been able to take care of you properly as your mother. I'm sorry, okay?" Angeline said with a touch of sadness.
Suddenly, two reporters approached Angeline and she even noticed a man secretly taking her picture. Angeline felt uncomfortable and annoyed by these people.
"Miss Angeline, can you give us a moment? What is your reaction to the recent news that's been circulating?" one of the reporters asked.
"What are you talking about? I can't do an interview right now," Angeline tried to refuse, but they insisted.
"Do you admit to the gossip that you deliberately got close to President Bryan and got pregnant in order to marry him?" the reporter continued.
There was no guilt on the faces of the two reporters as they asked her questions. Angeline, on the other hand, was growing impatient and irritated. She kept turning her face away, avoiding the camera's gaze from afar.
"I'm sorry, but I have no idea what you're talking about. I have to go home," Angeline said and tried to escape, but the two reporters and a photographer continued to follow her.
Suddenly, Alex arrived and became Angeline's savior. Alex immediately took Angeline's hand and led her away from the journalists. However, the reporters took the opportunity to question Alex.
"Miss Angeline, who is that man? Do you have a secret lover?" one of them asked boldly.
Angeline couldn't answer, and Alex covered her face behind his back.
"Secret lover? I'm the older brother of Angeline's neighbor. Don't make any weird assumptions," Alex said, and the reporters didn't like his answer.
They wanted to follow Alex, who had already pulled Angeline into the courtyard of the café.
"Stop! Don't cross the line!" Alex firmly warned the reporters not to trespass.
"Because this is my territory. So don't even think about entering without my permission. My cafe is no place for anyone who doesn't behave as humanely as you," Alex stated sternly. The reporters had no choice but to leave.
Bryan was at a client's company, walking around the conference room without John at his side. As he descended the stairs, Bryan noticed a heart-shaped Post-it note on the floor with a message written on it.
The message read, "Do you like me? I like you."
When Bryan saw the Post-it note, he was immediately reminded of Angeline. Angeline had told him that only she had asked her to be super glue, not a Post-it. Only she had talked to Angeline like that. Bryan stuck the heart-shaped Post-it back on where it had fallen, joining the other Post-its stuck there.
"Don't come off again, you have to stick together with all your might," Bryan said and walked away.
Angeline was still with Alex.
"Drink up, you must be in shock," Alex said and offered Angeline a warm drink.
"It seems I was too soft with the reporters, and I can't always rely on others. At least for Semesta's sake, I have to be strong. So next time I won't run away again," Angeline said, determined to admit her mistake.
"I agree with what you're saying, and besides, Bryan seems to be nice to you," Alex replied with a smile.
Angeline smiled, just a little, her expression changing as she thought about Bryan. Bryan who might have been with Sera last night. No, maybe he was jealous, he could be very jealous. But she knew that Bryan would be with Sera sooner or later. Angeline decided to keep that to herself without letting Alex know.
