Chapter 190: There Will Be a Solution?
Martina parted her lips, intending to offer a rebuttal, but found herself unable to utter a word.
She sniffed softly, avoiding further eye contact with Benjamin. Instead, she gazed out the window and spoke in a subdued tone, "If you don't pushed me, I won't deliberately do anything. And by the way, you keep saying others bully me. From my perspective, the only one truly bullying me is probably you."
Benjamin seems puzzled. Taken aback by this unexpected statement, Benjamin genuinely couldn't comprehend. After a moment, he seemed to recall something and a faint smile graced his face. "I'm sorry. I won't speak like that again in the future."
Benjamin's voice softened once more, coupled with his strikingly handsome features, making it nearly impossible to voice any further reproach.
Once again, Simon silently praised in his mind, thinking, "Wow, it seems like the boss has really mastered the art of charming women now!"
Now the boss could change his speaking style so effortlessly and rapidly, which was truly unimaginable.
Martina's demeanor naturally shifted along with the conversation. "Let's forget it. I don't want to continue discussing this topic."
"Regarding Amy, how do you plan to handle it? Do you really want her to go to prison? If we look at it from a normal perspective, Amy should indeed spend a long time in jail. Will the Paloma family truly be okay with that?" Martina asked, her gaze remaining fixed outside.
The Paloma family definitely wouldn't be furiated.
Ever since the call from Adam, they had already begun taking action. Despite knowing that Benjamin orchestrated this deliberately, they couldn't afford to let their guard down. It would be far too risky.
They couldn't simply stand by and watch their pampered princess being mistreated to such an extent and even ending up in jail. That would be completely unacceptable.
As Martina's complexion gradually returned to normal, Benjamin felt somewhat relieved deep inside.
As for dealing with Alejandro's situation, Benjamin had plenty of other methods at his disposal. Since Martina didn't want to hear about it, he decided to keep silent. At most, he would bear some internal frustration, but what did that really matter?
As long as he could eventually truly win Martina over and keep her by his side without wanting to leave all the time, that would be enough. The rest didn't matter much.
"You don't need to worry about this matter; I'll handle it," Benjamin assured, perhaps concerned that Martina might misunderstand. He added, "I won't allow those who mistreated you to escape without consequences. I'll ensure they face the consequences, regardless of gender or social status."
At this moment, Martina's heart couldn't help but feel a surge of excitement. If Benjamin could truly accomplish this, it would indeed save her a lot of trouble.
Seeing Benjamin's determination, Martina knew that handling this on her own would indeed lead to a lot of trouble, so she reluctantly agreed.
"Well then, if it's really difficult to resolve, just let me know. I'll choose to handle it my way, rather than insisting you handle it forcefully," Martina explained.
She seemed to have thought of something and added, "What I mean is, I don't want to worsen the relationship between the Walker family and the Paloma family. You've already had two or three generations with such a good relationship. If it's because of this issue of mine, it will only make things harder for everyone."
"I can handle it myself. If you find it too challenging, you can leave it to me."
"Otherwise, if this matter reaches Grandfather's ears, he might be saddened by it."
Speaking of this, Martina thought carefully and realized that she hadn't seen Benjamin's grandfather in a long time.
Due to Jack's poor health recently, he had chosen to go to a distant place for recuperation. The medical facilities and the environment there were better suited for healing. Considering the time, he was probably on his way back.
Martina was starting to miss him a little. Of course, she couldn't possibly say such words in front of Benjamin, fearing that it might be misunderstood.
Benjamin remained silent, and the atmosphere awkwardly lingered.
It was only when Benjamin had dropped Martina off at his home that he drove away once again. However, he had left Leslie behind this time, indicating that Leslie's performance had been satisfactory.
As soon as Leslie stepped out of the car, he noticed a new message notification on his phone – it was a bank account statement. Suddenly, an additional $50,000 had appeared in his account.
Indeed, working under the boss was great. Despite receiving regular paychecks, the occasional bonuses also seemed quite substantial. Especially during this recent period, Leslie had earned quite a lot of bonuses by accompanying Miss Martinez. If this trend continued, he might even be able to afford a house soon.
Leslie chuckled at his own thoughts, knowing that he was the only one aware of his aspirations. Otherwise, he might have been subject to some teasing.
Watching Benjamin's car drive away until it disappeared completely, Martina contemplated the situation. If her guess was correct, Benjamin must be arranging matters concerning Amy at the moment. She wondered what the final outcome would be.
...
Meanwhile, Amy's grandfather, Gary Paloma, was furious upon hearing the news of Amy's arrest. He was so angry that he almost spat blood.
Following Gary's instructions, Adam returned home first. Upon seeing Gary's condition, he was so shaken that his body trembled.
"Grandfather, are you alright? Please take care of yourself. I don't want to see anything bad happen to you," Adam anxiously inquired.
Gary's chest heaved violently as he tried to calm himself, but the effect was proved to be ineffective. The thought of Amy's current situation weighed heavily on his heart.
"Haven't I already warned you before? I told you that no matter what, you must not offend Benjamin. Why didn't you listen?" Gary snapped.
Especially after the incident last time, Gary knew that at certain times, Benjamin could truly be ruthless and disregard conventional norms. He could even forsake the dignity of two families for the sake of a girl.
The previous incident should have served as a severe lesson, but why couldn't his grandchildren just ignore his advice? Was it due to their overestimation of themselves, or was there another reason?
Adam didn't dare to argue out of fear. He didn't possess the same capabilities as Benjamin, and many times he had to rely on his family's status.
"Grandfather, please don't be angry. There will be a solution. I believe there will be a way to turn things around in this matter!" Adam comforted.
