Chapter 79: Hostility from Amy
Those two followers asked curiously, "Amy, who is this woman? Why are you intentionally opposing her? Isn't that not good?"
Amy glared at the two of them in anger. If it weren't for the fact that these two followers were somewhat useful, she would have probably couldn't resist slapping them right across their faces, cleanly and decisively!
At this moment, Amy could only express her dissatisfaction with a very unpleasant tone, "This woman is the same Martinez I mentioned before! Didn't you also say before that she looked very detestable? How come now you're saying that I'm intentionally opposing her? Clearly, it's this woman who is intentionally opposing me!"
The two followers exchanged a hesitant glance, each seeing through a bit of the other's thoughts.
This was their first time seeing Martina. Previously, they had heard many bad things about her from Amy. It made them mistakenly believe that Martina was an ugly-looking and malicious woman, shamelessly occupying the young master of the Walker family. It was simply unforgivable!
However, regardless of how they observed Martina, she didn't fit the description they had heard. Now it seems that Amy's jealousy was not small, actually resorting to such deliberate defamation.
"So, this is the woman you hate the most, Amy. It seems like our previous judgments were off," one of the followers said, filled with envy and jealousy, targeted Martina straightforwardly. "How can a woman like her appear in a store like this? Does she have money to buy clothes? Wasn't it said that her family is poor and she spends Benjamin's money?"
Even though they were both women, how could they blatantly reveal hostility?
"Paloma, I warn you, don't deliberately say things that deserve a beating in front of me, or I might really slap you!" Elena threatened with a clear tone. "If by any chance I accidentally reveal your illness with a slap, don't blame me for not warning you in advance."
Amy attempted to defend herself, "Elena, why are you talking me like this? Do you have some misunderstanding about me? Martinez is not the good woman you imagine. She is scheming. Don't be deceived."
Elena remained indifferent and said, "Are you saying all these stupid things out of envy? Do you even dare to claim that she is deceiving me? Well, you're taking it too far. Do you really think I can't see through your ulterior motives?"
Amy was instantly speechless. When it came to verbal sparring, she definitely couldn't outmatch Elena.
After all, Elena had some training. If she couldn't handle such a small matter, it would be a self-inflicted insult for someone who grew up among men.
Amy's face turned red from being choked, and she seemed to have forgotten what her next move should be. She lost her sense of direction.
The only one who remained relatively calm was probably Martina. Because she no longer cared about Benjamin, the baseless words spoken by others were also irrelevant to her.
Just as Elena was about to continue her steady performance, Martina grabbed her, preventing her from losing control like an untamed wild horse. "Enough, Elena. You don't need to argue about these things for me. Those who understand the situation don't need any explanation. As long as we have a clear conscience, the rest doesn't matter."
Amy, who didn't know what to say, took the opportunity to mock again. "Now you're pretending to be so indifferent and innocent. Who are you putting up this act for? Martinez, let me tell you, Benjamin will never like you."
Amy had always considered herself as Benjamin's future girlfriend, so it was no wonder she held such strong hostility towards Martina.
In the past, Martina would have definitely argued fiercely with Amy, but now she just wanted to leave Benjamin as soon as possible, and the farther the better.
What Elena uttered fell on deaf ears, as they considered her words to be meaningless. Martina, on the other hand, had no intention of wasting her energy on them. She chose to ignore their presence and focus on what truly mattered to her.
Even now, Martina couldn't be bothered to spare a glance at Amy. Instead, she turned to the nearby salesperson and said, "Could you please take this dress down for us? Let my friend try it on."
Amy instantly became unwilling. If she couldn't win over Benjamin, fine, but couldn't she even win over a piece of clothing?
Since it was the dress that Martina specifically desired, Amy couldn't resist getting it for herself.
Perhaps she didn't actually like this dress that much. But because Martina showed a desire to have it, it instantly sparked a sense of competition within her.
"Wait a minute, why should we let you try it on? I'm taking this dress. Just wrap it up for me!" After saying that, Amy was ready to swipe her card, displaying an attitude of not giving up.
Elena was truly surprised. She had never seen such a shameless woman before. Wasn't it said that Amy was always sickly and had a soft and gentle personality? But the reality seemed to be different.
Elena had never despised someone so intensely before, especially someone of the same gender.
Elena almost couldn't resist slapping Amy right now. "Paloma, don't you have any sense of fairness? Do you not understand the concept of 'first come, first served'?"
Amy confidently crossed her arms. "First come, first served? I don't understand that. I only know that the winner takes it all and the strong prevail."
Neither Elena nor Martina dignified her shameless speech with any response.
If Martina didn't want to stoop to Amy's level before, she couldn't hold back anymore.
After a short silence, Martina said, "What happened between you and me has nothing to do with Elena. If you have any issues, address them directly with me."
Amy coldly scanned Martina up and down, her gaze full of contempt. "Martinez, do you have the qualifications to speak to me? You are no longer living in the Walker family's house, and you are not worthy of fitting into our circle."
"No matter how hard you try, it's all in vain. Everything you do is just a deliberate attempt to seek attention like a clown. No one truly cares about you."
Martina unconsciously clenched her fist, remembering the absurd things she had done before.
Indeed, she had done many foolish and confused things before. But all of this didn't mean that her dignity could be trampled upon by others. Never forget she was a living person.
