Unforgivable
Dissolve Victoria's marriage, or risk the complete unraveling of the Sebastian empire. But his father's words were still a bitter reminder of the impossible choice that had been thrust upon his family.
As much as he wanted to believe in his wife's innocence, the damning evidence Amaya had presented seemed to paint a damning picture. Victoria's betrayal, captured in vivid detail, was a wound that still stung with every thought.
Yet, even as the anger and hurt threatened to consume him, a small, nagging voice in the back of his mind refused to be silenced. What if Amaya was the one orchestrating this entire charade? What if the photographs, the video footage, were all part of a calculated plan to destroy his marriage, his family?
Louis paused mid-stride, his brow furrowed in deep contemplation. He had known Amaya for years, had trusted her with the inner workings of the family business. Could she truly be capable of such a calculated, malicious betrayal?
Sinking into the plush leather chair behind his desk, Louis buried his head in his hands, a weary sigh escaping his lips. The conflict within him was tearing him apart, his heart and his mind at war with one another.
On one hand, he loved Victoria, his wife of many years. The woman who had stood by his side through thick and thin, who had fought tirelessly to build a life with him. The thought of losing her, of dissolving their marriage, was a bitter pill to swallow.
But on the other hand, Amaya had been a constant in his life, a trusted confidante and advisor. The idea that she could be capable of such treachery was almost unthinkable.
Lifting his head, Louis gazed out the window, his expression pensive. He needed to make a decision, and fast. The clock was ticking, and the fate of his family's legacy hung in the balance.
With a renewed sense of determination, Louis rose from his chair and strode towards the door. It was time to confront Amaya.
Amaya's crimson lips curled into a self-assured smile as Louis stormed into her Apartment, his features etched with a mix of fury and desperation.
"Ah, Louis," she purred, her tone dripping with false sweetness. "To what do I owe the pleasure of this unexpected visit?"
Louis glared at her, his hands clenched into fists at his sides. "Cut the act, Amaya. We need to talk."
Amaya arched a perfectly manicured brow, her expression one of feigned innocence. "What do you mean, darling?"
"Don't play dumb with me," Louis growled, his voice low and dangerous. "The ultimatum you presented to my parents, the evidence you have against Victoria - I want the truth, Amaya. All of it."
Amaya's smile widened, a glint of malice flashing in her eyes. "The truth, Louis? Very well, then. The truth is that your dear wife betrayed you, betrayed our family, with her ex-boyfriend. And I, being the loyal friend that I am, simply brought the evidence to light."
Louis felt his chest tighten, the pain of Victoria's betrayal flaring to life once more. "You expect me to believe that?"
Amaya rose from her chair, her movements graceful and calculated. "Oh, Louis, don't be so naive. You know as well as I do that the Sebastians have always done whatever it takes to protect their legacy. Even if that means sacrificing a few... inconvenient relationships."
Louis felt a wave of revulsion wash over him, his gaze hardening. "So, what? You're just going to destroy my marriage, my family, for the sake of the company?"
Amaya closed the distance between them, her hand trailing along the lapel of his suit. "Not for the company, my dear. For us."
Louis recoiled from her touch, his expression twisting with disgust. "Us? Amaya, what the hell are you talking about?"
Amaya's eyes narrowed, a predatory gleam flickering in their depths. "Don't you see, Louis? This is our chance, our opportunity to be together, without the constraints of your marriage holding us back."
Louis stared at her, his mind reeling. "You're insane. I would never, ever choose you over Victoria, over my family."
Amaya's expression darkened, her fingers curling into the fabric of his shirt. "Don't be so naive, Louis. Once your marriage is dissolved, your family will have no choice but to accept our relationship. And together, we'll be unstoppable."
Louis wrenched himself away from her, his gaze burning with fury. "No, Amaya. I want you out of my life, out of my family's life, forever. Whatever you've done, whatever you're planning, it ends now."
Amaya's eyes widened, a flash of panic flitting across her features. "Louis, you can't be serious. Think of everything we've built, everything we can achieve together."
Louis shook his head, his jaw clenched tightly. "I don't care, Amaya. You've betrayed my trust, my family, in the worst possible way. And I won't let you destroy everything I hold dear, not anymore."
Amaya's expression morphed into one of pure rage, her nails digging into the palms of her hands. "You're making a mistake, Louis. If you walk away from me, from our future, you'll regret it for the rest of your life."
Louis held her gaze, his resolve unwavering. "I'm willing to take that risk. Goodbye, Amaya."
Turning on his heel, Louis strode towards the door, his heart pounding in his chest. As he pulled the door open, Amaya's voice rang out, laced with venom.
"This isn't over, Louis. I won't let you ruin everything we've built. You'll see, you'll all see!"
Louis paused, his hand gripping the doorknob tightly. "I already have, Amaya. And I refuse to be a part of your twisted games any longer."
Without another word, he stepped out of the office, the weight of his decision settling heavily upon his shoulders. He knew he was walking a perilous path, one that could potentially cost him everything.
But as he made his way back to the mansion, a newfound sense of purpose ignited within him. He had to find a way to save his marriage, to protect his family from Amaya's malicious schemes.
Whatever it took, he would not let the Sebastians be destroyed from within. The game had changed, and he was ready to fight for the life he had built, no matter the cost.
