New Perspectives
The sun was setting, casting a warm light over the Sebastians' mansion. Louis sat in his father's study, looking over reports from their legal team. The day had been long with many meetings and phone calls. But even though he was tired, Louis felt motivated to fight for his family's legacy, inspired by Victoria's strong commitment.
Louis looked up when the door creaked open, and Victoria walked in, looking thoughtful. She had spent the day working with the board, talking to investors, and coordinating with their PR team to respond to Victor Kane's media attacks. It was a tough day, but Victoria showed no signs of slowing down.
"Hey," Louis said, leaning back in his chair. "I was just looking at the updates. It seems like the board is finally starting to support us."
Victoria nodded with a small smile. "They needed some convincing, but I think they are on our side now. Kane's tactics are unfair, but we have the truth on our side. We just need to keep pushing."
Louis watched her, noticing her quiet confidence and determination. He had always known she was strong, but seeing her lead the fight against Kane made him realize he had underestimated her.
"You've been amazing today," Louis said sincerely. "I don't think we'd be making this much progress without you."
Victoria looked surprised by the compliment and blushed slightly. "I'm just doing what needs to be done," she said, though she sounded proud. "We're all in this together."
Louis nodded, looking into her eyes. "I know, but I've been so focused on everything that I didn't see how much you've been doing. You're incredible, Victoria. I don't think I've told you that enough."
Victoria's expression softened, and she sat down across from him, resting her hands on the desk. "Thank you, Louis. That means a lot coming from you."
There was a brief silence, filled with unspoken feelings. Louis felt guilty as he thought about the past few weeks-the distance between them and his doubts about their relationship. He realized he had been so caught up in his own problems that he hadn't seen Victoria for who she really was: a strong woman fighting for what she believed in, even when things were tough.
"You know," Louis said thoughtfully, "I've always known you were strong, but seeing you step up like this has made me realize how much I've taken you for granted. I've been so focused on the bad things that I haven't appreciated everything you've done to help us."
Victoria met his gaze, her eyes warm. "It's been hard for all of us," she said gently. "But we're getting through it. And I couldn't have done any of this without you."
Louis felt a spark of something he hadn't felt in a while. It was admiration, but also a deeper appreciation for the woman he had married. For the first time in weeks, he saw Victoria not just as his wife, but as his partner, someone standing by him through tough times.
"I know I haven't been easy to be around lately," Louis admitted, regret in his voice. "I've been so caught up in trying to keep everything from falling apart that I've pushed you away. But you've been there for me, and I'm starting to see how much that means."
Victoria smiled genuinely. "We've both been going through a lot. But we're here now, and that's what matters. We're stronger together, Louis. We always have been."
Louis reached across the desk and took her hand. "I know," he said softly. "And I'm sorry for the times I made you feel alone in this. You're not. We're in this together, and I'll do everything I can to show you how much I appreciate you."
Victoria squeezed his hand, filled with affection. "I appreciate you too, Louis. More than you know."
They shared a quiet moment, the weight of the past weeks lifting slightly. It wasn't a grand gesture, but it was a start-a step towards rebuilding their bond.
As the evening continued, they worked together, going over reports and discussing plans for the future. There was a new sense of teamwork between them, a respect that grew from facing challenges together.
Louis found himself admiring Victoria as they worked, proud of how she handled everything. He realized he had married an amazing woman, and for the first time in a long while, he was starting to truly see her-not just as his wife, but as his equal and partner.
As midnight approached, Louis leaned back in his chair, stretching. "We should probably call it a night," he said with a tired smile.
"We have a big day tomorrow."
Victoria nodded, closing her laptop. "You're right. We need to be well-rested for the fight ahead."
They went upstairs together, the quiet of the house comforting. At their bedroom door, Louis paused to look at Victoria.
"Thank you," he said softly. "For everything."
Victoria smiled and kissed him gently. "We're in this together, Louis. We always have been."
As they settled into bed, the stress of the day melted away, and Louis felt hopeful for the days ahead-not just because of the challenges ahead, but because he knew he wouldn't face them alone.
Victoria was by his side, and together, they were unstoppable.
