Dangerous Moves
Daniella's fingers tapped in a rhythmic motion across her desk as she stared at the glowing screen before her. A faint smile played on her lips, but her eyes were cold and calculating. She had already torn Victoria's public image to shreds, but that wasn't enough. Victoria still had her marriage and her dignity, and Daniella couldn't rest until all of that was gone, too.
For weeks, she had planned a series of smudges and rumors to ruin Victoria's career and prestige, but the real belting was yet to come. This time, it would be personal.
Her office door opened, and Martin Lockhart came in, his face unreadable, shutting the door behind him. With him stepped a tall, thin man in his mid-thirties, with dark, keen eyes, and a vibe of nervous energy oozing from him. Daniella knew him only as Gavin, an elite hacker whom Martin had recruited for this task.
"Everything's ready," Martin said, seating himself opposite Daniella. "Gavin here has already gained access to Victoria's email accounts and private files. We're just waiting for your instructions."
Daniella leaned back in her chair, a smile spreading across her face as her heart pounded with dark satisfaction. "I want you to go through everything. Find anything that could be damaging-old emails, private messages, anything that paints her in a negative light. I want the press to have enough ammunition to bury her for good."
Gavin shifted uncomfortably, fidgeting with the strap of his laptop bag. "I have already been able to find some incriminating correspondence. There are e-mails between Victoria and several high-profile clients of the correspondence is confidential. If leaked, this information could seriously damage her professional standing, especially if the clients are affiliated with any sensitive cases."
Daniella's eyes shone with interest. "Perfect. What else?"
Gavan cleared his throat; his fingers tapped on his laptop nervously. "There are, too, some personal messages exchanged between her and Louis-nothing just yet that could serve as incrimination, but enough to imply marital tension between them. We can leak those along with professional emails to give a view of someone who's having difficulties not only at work but also in personal life.
Daniella nodded, her brain spinning with all the possible outcomes of this. "I want both. The professional ones are going to destroy her career, and the personal emails will make her sound like she's on the brink of breakdown. We will leak them one at a time, drip, drip-so that the scandal builds over time."
Martin smiled wryly, eyes glinting with his approval. "A slow burn. The press is gonna love it. Every new leak will feed into this narrative that we've already built. By the time we're done, no one's going to trust Victoria anywhere near their clients, her colleagues, and not the public.
The fallout was an exhilarating thought that caused Daniella's heart to bleed. With all the media scrutiny, Victoria was already at an edge, but this would be the final blow. By the time the emails surfaced, Victoria wouldn't even have a prayer of saving her career or her reputation. The damage would simply be too deep, too personal.
"When can we start?" Daniella asked, her voice cold and sharp.
The moment of silence from Gavin was all it took to make Martin nervous; he then replied, "I'll need some more time to extract everything and cover our tracks, but after that, we can start leaking the emails within the week."
Daniella leaned forward, her eyes intense. "Good. I want this done right. I don't care what this costs or how long it takes-I want her destroyed."
Gavin swallowed and nodded quickly as he pulled his laptop out and began typing, his fingers flying across the keyboard. "I'll get to work right away. You'll have all you need soon enough."
Daniella's smile returned then, watching him go to work. Always so patient, ever waiting for just the right moment to strike-and now that moment was almost here.
Meanwhile, at the Sebastian estate, Victoria sat in her home office, staring at her inbox in growing unease. Relentless pressure from the media and constant questions about her marriage and her career were just too much. Every e-mail she opened brought more bad news, more, reminders that her life was spinning out of control.
She scanned over her messages, her eyes running down the latest correspondence from clients and colleagues, friends. It was all questions, concerns, and, worse than that, doubts. What was once friendly was cold and more formal, almost as though her colleagues were distancing themselves from her. Even her clients, who had been with her for several years-were beginning to falter.
The scandal was poisoning everything.
A soft knock at the door yanked her out of those thoughts, and she looked up to see Louis standing in the doorway, his face taut with concern.
"Hey," he said softly, stepping into the room. "You okay?"
Victoria huffed, rubbing her temples as she leaned back in her chair. "I don't know, Louis. It feels like everything is falling apart. The media won't stop. My career, our marriage-everything is under attack."
Louis leaned in closer, perching on the edge of her desk. "I know. But we're going to get through this. We just need to stay ahead of it."
She gave him a sad smile, but her eyes that met his were heavy with a weight he had not seen before. "I wish I believed that. But every time we try to fix one thing, something else comes up. I don't know how much more of this I can take."
Louis reached for her hand and squeezed it gently. "We'll fight this together. Whatever happens, we'll face it head-on.
She so desperately wanted to believe him, wanted to trust that they could somehow make it through this storm. But the fissures in their relationship spread wider by the day, and try as they might to hold things together, it seemed the more they tried holding on, the further they slipped apart.
Already back in Daniella's office, the plan was in full gear. Gavin was working furiously, his fingers flying across the keyboard as he sourced Victoria's private emails and began filtering them with a practiced eye for scandal. Already, he had sourced several key messages: confidential emails between Victoria and her high-profile clients, along with more personal correspondence that seemed to hint at tensions between her and Louis.
"This is going to be explosive," Gavin said quietly, preparing the files for the first leak.
Daniella watched him from her desk, her heart racing with anticipation. "I want the first batch ready to go by the end of the week.
We'll start with the professional emails. Let the press run with that for a while. Then we'll hit her with the personal ones."
Martin nodded, falling back in his chair with a self-satisfied smirk. "When we're done and said, Victoria will be no better than a tabloid headline. She'll lose everything."
A dark satisfaction glittered in Daniella's eyes. This was the moment for which she had been waiting, and now the time had come.
Victoria had taken everything that rightfully belonged to her: a place within the family, an inheritance, and power. But now Daniella was set to take back hers, bit by bit.
"Make sure there are no mistakes," Daniella said coldly, her tone cold as steel. "I want this to be perfect."
Gavin looked up at her, his face pale but resolute. "Don't worry, by the time the first leak hits, Victoria won't know what hit her."
And with that, the last part of Daniella's plan was put into motion. The emails were ready to be leaked, the press was ready, and soon enough, Victoria would be pounded by a storm she could not run from.
