Shane Part 2
"It seems your mother doesn't like me, does she, Sean? I should have brought something before coming here. This is your fault for forbidding me to bring something for your mother," I said to Sean, trying to break the ice between us.
"That's not necessary. After all, my mother is just like that. Don't think about it too much," he said coolly.
"But you shouldn't have said rude words like that to your mother."
"You don't know my relationship with my mother yet. We've often talked like that. You see, she doesn't care that I talk to her like that. There's nothing wrong with what I said anyway." I am distraught to hear his words. It makes me curious to know what their relationship is like.
"Come on, let's get out of here," he asked, to which I responded with a nod. We left his mother's office.
"Sis Leslie! Wow, you came to our house. I'm so happy." I gasped when someone suddenly screamed and hugged me.
"Sunny, how are you?"
"I'm well. I think you lied when you said Sis Leslie was going to play at home. If I knew he wasn't lying, I would cancel my appointment with my friends." Her face turned weary, a look of disappointment there.
Sean smacked Sunny's forehead so hard it made Sunny wince in pain.
"What are you doing? You stupid brother."
"That's why if I say something, you must believe it." The fight between the brothers and sisters happened right before my eyes. It's not something new because I've seen it a lot lately.
"It's fine if you have an appointment with your friends. Next time, I can play here again." I said, trying to stop the war of words between the two of them.
"That's right, isn't it, Sister Leslie? You have to play here again. We'll chat to our heart's content later. Promise me," she said, to which I nodded. Not long after that, she left me alone with Sean.
"Where are we going, Sean?"
"You want to go home?"
"No. I still want to be here," I said, preventing Sean, who seemed intent on taking me home.
"Then, want to see my house? Yes, although there is nothing particularly interesting here."
"Yes, I will," I replied enthusiastically.
We walked around Sean's house. We went to Sean's backyard. There was a basketball court that was specially made for Sean. A relatively large swimming pool is close to the basketball court. I was tempted to swim there when I saw the clear water.
"It's very comfortable here." My gaze continues around the scene here.
"I often spend my time here when I'm at home. Play basketball, then swim and sunbathe. Even though I haven't done much since living in the dorms."
"I didn't expect your house to be this big. Your parents must be wealthy, huh?" I asked with a smile. However, Sean didn't look at me at all. His eyes widened. He didn't know what he was thinking.
"We're not that rich anyway. It's just that my mother was quite successful in her business because of that she had all these luxuries. Although I prefer a simple life. I'm more comfortable when my dad is around." Sean looked sad. Yes, I can see it clearly on his face.
"You don't want to try swimming? Or maybe you can't swim, can you?" he asked mockingly.
"That's good, of course, I can swim." I stick out my tongue in response to his taunts.
"Haa, what a shame. I don't mind teaching you to swim if you can't, though. All right, let's go." Sean held my hand, and even though I felt comfortable being there, I had no choice but to follow him.
As soon as we were inside the house, I was surprised to see someone I knew was in this house. She was my best friend in college, Muggie, who was none other than Sean's cousin.
"Whoa, Leslie. You're playing here, right?"
"Yes. What are you doing here, Muggie?" I asked enthusiastically. I'm glad to see Muggie, which means I'm not alone with Sean in this house. Even though I know several of Sean's servants, it still feels different if I know someone other than Sean is in this house.
"I just delivered my homemade food. I asked Sean's help to taste the taste." Muggie smiled cheerfully. I was surprised to hear her story.
"You're learning to cook, huh?"
"Yeah, and damn it was me that she made the victim of to taste her cooking which, to be honest, tastes weird," Sean said curtly, making me want to smile hearing that.
"Hey, don't talk like that. You're the only one I can ask for help."
"Why don't you ask Sunny or mom to taste it?" Sean asked, still in a curt tone.
"They always lie to me, to protect my feelings they say the food is delicious. Only you dare to be honest."
"I'll taste your cooking too," I said sincerely. I wanted to taste Muggie's cooking, too, which made Sean look irritated. I wonder if it tastes that weird.
"No, no, later when Sean says it tastes good, I'll purposely cook some food for you. But not now, OK? I ask." Muggie put her clasped hands together in front of her chest to signify that she was begging me very much.
"Yeah, alright Muggie. Why do you have to be ashamed? We're friends though."
"Still, I'm embarrassed." A tinge of red graced her pretty face, making me hold back my laughter.
"OK. I'll go first, OK? I've put the food in the fridge, don't forget to taste it, Sean. See you, Leslie." Before I answered her, she had run away from us, making me feel disappointed because now I was alone again with Sean.
"Haah… Muggie's been cooking a lot lately. To be honest, it tortured me."
"Hahaha ... is the food that weird?" Sean nodded enthusiastically, making me even more curious to taste Muggie's cooking.
"That's enough. Come on, follow me!!" Sean took my hand and walked up the stairs. I am still determining where else he will take me.
Arriving on the second floor, there are so many doors, indicating quite a lot of room. But suddenly, I felt a pain in my head, and my body got goosebumps when we passed through a door. Instantly, my steps stopped, and so did Sean. Even though I haven't seen his figure, I feel a ghostly presence in the room behind this door.
"Why Leslie?"
"Sean, what room is this?" I asked with my gaze still fixed on the door.
"My mother's room, why?" My eyes widen after hearing Sean's answer. I'm sure there's a ghost in this room, but should I see it? I felt impolite to enter his mother's room, but I was curious to see a ghostly figure. Could it be the ghost I saw following his mother earlier? So, what should I do?
