Evan Part 4
Initially, I intended to say hello to Aunt Silva when I was already standing near the ambulance where Sean and his mother were. They didn't see me because the open car door blocked my body. I discouraged my intention to greet Aunt Silva when I accidentally heard their conversation.
"So you're still seeing that girl? Mother has forbidden you to see her. End your relationship with her, Sean."
"Tsk, this is none of your business," Sean replied curtly.
"She's weird, she's not normal. I know you're always in danger when you're with her. Several times, you almost died and look today, you almost died because of it." I cringed hearing that. How could she blame me for the terrible accident that happened to us today?
"This accident had nothing to do with Leslie."
"Anyway, mom doesn't want to know, you have to break up with her. Mom didn't like it. She is not polite and likes to meddle in other people's business. Even because of her, our family is falling apart like this."
'Hahaha... ridiculous. I even thanked Leslie because, thanks to her, all your rot was exposed. If it weren't for Leslie, maybe you'd be keeping your rotten secret from us for the rest of your life." Sean coldly said that to his mother. There wasn't even the slightest courtesy, as if he had forgotten he was talking to his mother. So, could Sean's relationship with his mother have gotten that bad? And it's all because of me. This seems to be the reason Sean has changed recently.
"Keep your mouth shut, Sean. I am your mother who conceived and gave birth to you into the world."
'Huuh, I don't want to call you mother. I am ashamed to have a mother like you."
I covered my mouth, hearing the loud slap that Aunt Silva sent to Sean's face.
'Insolent child. Just because of a woman, how dare you go against your mother."
"Shouldn't that sentence be aimed at you? It would help if you reflected on yourself. You are only for the sake of a man. How could you betray your husband, who loves you so much and abandon your children, who need your affection? Aren't you ashamed of what you did?!" Sean said with a snap in his voice. He even dared to snap at his mother. How wrong was their relationship now?
"Mother admits the mistake of mother and mother is very sorry. Mother has repeatedly apologized to you and Sunny for all that she did in the past. Why do you still bring it up and don't want to forgive mom?"
'You think just apologizing is enough? I'm sorry, but my heart is not as kind and gentle as my father's. I can't forgive you that easily." Aunt Silva was silent. She didn't reply to Sean's words. A few minutes later, she spoke again.
"Anyway, until whenever mother will never accept that girl. WILL NEVER!!" she shouted that second, tears streaming freely from my eyes.
"Instead of taking care of my love problems, I suggest you better take care of your disgusting love with that jerk." After hearing Sean's fierce words for the umpteenth time, Aunt Silva was silent.
'Do whatever you want, Sean. Mother won't care anymore."
"That's what I was hoping for," Sean replied with a grin. Then Aunt Silva left.
I was still standing alone without wanting to approach Sean. My heart still hurts to hear Aunt Silva's words. These tears are complicated for me to control. No matter how hard I try to stop these tears flowing profusely.
'L-Leslie, since when were you standing there?" A question from Sean, who was starting to notice my presence, made me finally work up the courage to approach him.
'Why are you keeping this a secret from me, Sean? Why don't you tell me? Your mother doesn't like me, she told you to stay away from me and break up our relationship. Why didn't you tell me when you have plenty of time today to tell me this? Even though I kept asking you to tell me about your problem this morning, you kept quiet. Even at the beach earlier, when I asked you to promise not to hide anything from me, you kept quiet. Do you remember you promised me right, Sean? You promised you wouldn't keep anything secret from me, but why did you stay silent!!" I shouted, accompanied by my tears that were getting broken.
"Since this matter is unimportant, why should I tell you?" The answer lightly made my anger and disappointment peak.
"Not important you say? This is very important, Sean. How can we continue our relationship without your mother's blessing?"
'I don't care what that woman says. This is completely unimportant to me. It's up to her whether she agrees or not. It won't affect our relationship at all!!" Sean looked as angry as I was. His tone rose, and his face flushed with emotion.
"No matter how bad she is, she is still your mother. She is the one who conceived and gave birth to you. You can't be rude to her, Sean, no matter how badly she behaves. You must forgive her."
'Shut up!! I don't want to talk about this."
"But ..."
'STOP MAKING ME ANGRY!!" he shouted, making me cringe. Sean has changed. The incident at his house two weeks ago has completely changed his personality. I don't know what to do anymore to return it to how it used to be.
"Well Leslie, Sean, you're here apparently. We've been looking for you." That voice, I know very well the owner of that soft voice even though I don't turn to look at her. Immediately, I wipe my tears with my hands. I don't want my parents to see me cry.
'You two are fine, right? Just now I got a call from the police telling me about the accident that happened to you. We were really worried." That's my father's voice. I still returned to them because I hadn't finished wiping my tears.
"We are fine, Uncle, Auntie. We only suffered minor injuries but have been treated by the medical team." Finally, Sean answered.
"Leslie, what are you doing?" Mother held my shoulder. I was forced to turn my body to face them even though I still couldn't wipe all these tears.
"You're crying, why?" I throw myself in my mother's arms. Many things happened today that made me unable to stop my tears, even for a moment.
"You must have been scared because of the accident earlier, huh?" asked my mother, who responded with a nod. I was still sobbing in my mother's arms. She stroked my head lovingly, making a feeling of comfort spread throughout my body.
"Don't cry anymore, Leslie. Father and mother are already here. We better go home, okay? Tomorrow you don't need to go to college, just rest at home."
"Yes, Father," I answered hoarsely.
"You get some rest too, Sean. You must be shocked after this accident. Don't go to college tomorrow."
"Yes, Uncle."
"We'll take you back to your house."
"No, Uncle. Thank You. My mother just came, she was waiting for me. I'll just go home with my mother," Sean answered politely.
"Oh, your mother is coming, Sean, where is she? Aunt wants to meet." My mother's voice sounded enthusiastic. How happy she was for wanting to meet Sean's mother could be seen. If my mother knew about Aunt Silva's treatment of me, how would she react?
"Sorry Aunt, I think I'll just meet her next time because my mother is waiting in the car. She said she was in a hurry."
"Oh, I see. Too bad. Well, it's okay, we'll just greet her next time."
"I'm sorry, Auntie. Then I'll excuse myself, Uncle, Aunt." My father and mother nodded simultaneously. Then Sean looked at me with a look that was difficult to decipher.
'I'll be home first, Leslie. See you again."
"Y-yes," I answered briefly, after which he walked away. I just stared at his back, which was getting away and gradually disappearing from my sight.
