Evan Part 7
'Evan, are you sure we can be happy?"
"Of course. I will never make you suffer, Mira. I will do anything to make you happy with me." There was a conversation between a woman and a man. I looked around me. I don't know where I am now. But seeing this atmosphere, it seems like I'm in someone's house, even though this is the first time I've visited it.
I see a pair of lovers in this house. They were hugging. The conversation earlier may have come from both of them. But who are they? Why can I be here? When I recalled the events I experienced, I also remembered those I experienced just before I was in this strange house. I should be in my room and checking on the ghost disturbing my sleep. Yes, I remember someone pulling my body under my bed when I intended to see whatever figure was hiding. So, I'm in the world of ghost memories now. I'm in a world of ghost memories when I see the circumstances around me. But whose ghost is showing me its memories? Is it the ghost of a man named Evan? Or a female spirit named Mira? I will soon find the answer to this question in a moment.
I finally walked over to a pair of lovers who still feel at home hugging it.
"I have to go somewhere first, you wait here a moment, okay?" Evan said after he let go of his hug on Mira.
"Where are you going? I am coming along."
"No. You wait. It won't take long. I'll give you a surprise." Mira was silent for a moment until she finally nodded in agreement. Not long after that, a man named Evan left the house.
When I was confused about what to do because all I saw now was Mira, who was pensive alone in a chair, suddenly the scenery around me changed. I was in a different place. If you look at the atmosphere, I'm currently in a jewellery store.
"Is my order ready?" A voice sounded. I suddenly looked at the owner of the agent, who turned out to be Evan. He was talking to one of the maids in this jewellery shop.
"In whose name, sir?"
"Evan," he answered, then the waiter seemed to check something and soon returned to talking to Evan.
"Sorry, sir, the order ring is not finished yet. It looks like it will be finished tomorrow. Can we have your telephone number and address to contact you?" The waitress said Friendly. Then I saw Evan write something down on paper and give it to the waitress. After that, he left the jewellery shop. I, of course, followed Evan. He got into a black Honda Jazz car parked in front of the store. I rushed into the car to follow him.
There was the sound of a cell phone vibrating, which came from Evan's cell phone. He, without hesitation, accepted the call that came to his cell phone.
"I'm on my way home. Just wait a little longer, Mira." Mira was the one who called him. They only talked on the phone for a while. Then I saw Evan stop his car. I looked around me, and the second my eyes widened, I remembered this scene. Yes, it is a familiar sight because I have visited it before. A set where so many vehicles are lined up waiting for a red light that never turns green. I know what will happen after this.
'Huh, the red light took so long. Nothing seems to be passing by anymore." Evan muttered to himself. Then he drove his car back at high speed despite still being a red light. After that, just as I expected, a tanker truck passed, and there was a terrible accident.
'LESIE! LESLIE! OPEN YOUR EYES!!
I flinched at the sound of someone calling my name. The gruesome sight from earlier was gone and replaced by the atmosphere in a place that I was very familiar with. I also saw a pair of men and women in front of me. They were none other than my parents, with their pale faces looking worried for me.
'Mom, Dad," I muttered.
"Thank goodness you're awake. We were so worried when we heard your screams. We didn't see you in your room, and we got worried when we saw you lying under the bed. What happened? Why are you under your bed?" asked my father, who did not respond. I've returned to the real world, but I should tell my parents what happened.
"Earlier a ghost came to me, then he took me to the world of his memories," I answered honestly. My parents know my ability. I was the one who told them because I didn't want to hide anything from them. They just fell silent, seeming to understand the situation I just found myself in.
I looked around the room, and suddenly, I widened when I saw a figure floating in the air. The appearance of a ghost that I could not recognize because his whole body, including his face, was scorched. But considering the memories I saw earlier, that figure must be Evan's ghost.
"Then what does the ghost want?" asked my father, who finally spoke up.
'Asking for my help, maybe, but I don't know either. That's enough. Mom and Dad better go back to sleep. I'm still sleepy, too. I want to continue my sleep," I said, trying to show them that I was fine and there was nothing for them to worry about.
"Is it okay for you to be left alone? Mother will accompany you."
"No need, Mom. I'm fine. Besides, this isn't the first time a ghost has visited me. You guys sleep." My father, who had just stood, finally embraced my mother's body and took her from my room.
"You go back to sleep," my father said before he left my room. I responded with a nod.
After they left, I looked back at Evan's ghost, which was still floating before me. I still need to understand what he wants from me. The memories he showed earlier are unclear, unlike other ghosts who show their memories as clearly as possible, so I know what they want from me.
'W-What are you, Evan?" I asked to make sure. The figure nodded his head, indicating my prediction was correct.
"What do you want from me? Why did you come to me?" I asked again, but the figure was silent this time—no response from him. I recalled the memories I saw earlier, and I finally concluded.
"Do you want to ask for my help to give the ring you bought to Mira?" I asked again, and I was relieved when the figure nodded again. My conclusion was correct: he had promised a surprise for Mira, but it's a shame he hasn't had the chance to do so because that's why his spirit wanders like this.
"Okay. I will help you. Now go, and I beg you not to make any more noise in my house." I'm sure this figure had made a scene by breaking a few plates in the kitchen. Yes, that's what I thought because who else did it if not him?
But that figure did not obey my request at all. He still floated in front of me. I could no longer stare at his figure, which looked terrible. Try to imagine being in a room with a ghostly figure floating in front of you with a charred appearance. I can't even recognize his face. Indeed, you feel your heart beating erratically because of fear or horror. And that's what I'm feeling right now. Plus, the cold hit my body and hurt my head because of his presence.
I glanced at the clock on the wall; it was still 04.00 in the morning, and there was no way I could go now. There was no other choice for me but to wait for the afternoon. I also tried to ignore Evan's ghostly figure. I covered my whole body with the blanket and even covered my head. I don't want to look at his face anymore. I was still sleepy, and because of that, I quickly went back to sleep, ignoring the real fear that was enveloping me.
