Lucas Part 9
The fatigue I experienced today made me fall asleep easily when the night comes. However, a terrible thing happened to me again.
I heard a strange sound from my room in the middle of my deep sleep. And in semi-consciousness, I saw a black shadow moving quickly on the floor because I hadn't woken up from my sleep. Moving from the door to my bed, I suddenly intend to get up from my bed. However, I felt a tremendous force squeezing my body, making me lie back on my bed. Not only that, I felt something pressing down on my hands and feet, making it hard for me to move.
The power kept on holding me down. Even my soft mattress felt like I was sucking my body because, little by little, my body began to be sucked. I tried to fight but in vain. The force was powerful, suppressing me.
"Aaah!!"
I screamed when I saw the black smoke that chased me last night, now hovering above me. The smoke was moving until it took the form of a human. I couldn't see his face because it was just black smoke shaped like a human body. The figure got closer and closer to me.
"Hosh... Hosh..."
I felt his breath right in my ear.
"No! Let go of me, please don't bother me!!" I asked with my voice rising, hoping someone would hear it and would come to my room to help me.
I continued to struggle until I felt the pressure begin to weaken. I rolled over and threw myself off the bed as if alive and able to suck someone. Yes, the mattress seemed to be alive because it seemed to be moving like it was breathing. I tried to escape by crawling because my body still felt so stiff and weak.
"Aaah!!" I shouted again when I felt something forcefully pull my leg. My body was dragged back closer to my bed. I hold on to anything that is near me. My hand reached the foot of the dresser, which was located not far from the bed. I held the table leg, hoping to keep myself from the pull that dragged me.
After I felt the pull stop dragging me. I got back up again and felt relieved when I managed to stand up. I ran to the door and opened it with all my might. Luckily, the door was not locked because, as far as I can remember, I did not shut it earlier.
I ran, trying to ask my friends for help, even though I was sure they were deep asleep. I cursed myself as my feet carried me somewhere. Of the many rooms in this place and all the people in this Mansion, somehow, my two feet brought me to this place. It takes me to someone I don't want to meet.
The fear that I felt made me ignore the reluctance in my heart. I pounded loudly on the door that stood firmly in front of me. The room occupant, who was none other than Sean, opened the door and looked at me in astonishment.
"Help me! Help me!"
I begged him, accompanied by tears and sweat pouring from my temples.
"What happened to you?"
"The ghost has appeared again. He wants to hurt me again. I am very scared. I don't want to go back to my room," I answered hysterically.
"Calm down, Leslie."
"But I'm so scared, Sean," I said again, shaking my body. Maybe Sean felt sorry to see me because he suddenly pulled my hand to enter his room.
"Okay, you just sleep here," he said, making me very relieved to hear that. He carried me and laid me on his bed. Then he covered me with his blanket. Not long after that, he moved away from me.
"Where are you going? Don't leave me, please," I said, panicked when I saw him walking away.
"I'll sleep on the chair. Don't worry, I won't leave you." Just as he said, he did sleep on the chair. I feel calm because at least Sean is accompanying me in this room. I try to go back to sleep.
In my sleep, the terrible thing happened again. I saw one by one my friends hurt themselves. I saw Leyna slash her hand with a knife. Then I saw Carl stab himself with a sword. Muggie screamed and clawed at her face with her hands. As for Sean, I saw his body lying stiff on the floor, covered in blood. A man standing near my friends glared hatefully at me.
"You guys should never have come to this place, just look… this is what will happen to you and your friends. You will receive punishment for daring to enter this place." Said the figure of the man while walking towards me.
"Aaah!!!" I screamed at the top of my lungs.
"Leslie! Wake up, Leslie!!"
I slowly opened my eyes when I heard someone calling my name. It was Sean's face that I saw for the first time. I hugged him tightly and couldn't stop crying.
"What are you doing?" he asked frantically.
"We have to get out of this Mansion, Sean. It's very dangerous here. We're all going to die if we stay here any longer. We must leave quickly." Sean let go of my hug and stared intensely at me.
"What do you mean?"
"I had a dream… the ghosts in this Mansion are very angry because of our arrival. He wants to kill us all. We have to get out of here ASAP, Sean," I said hysterically. Sean stroked my head gently, trying to calm me down.
"Okay, tomorrow morning we'll talk about this with the others. Now you go back to sleep."
"Do not leave me alone. I am very scared." I kept holding Sean's hand. I was just afraid he would leave me alone.
"No, I just slept in that chair." I shook my head, rejecting his words.
"Sleep with me here, please." Sean was silent until I finally felt relieved when he saw him nod.
He climbed into bed and again covered my body with the blanket. Then he lay down beside me.
"Calm down, I'm here with you," he said, which made my heart calm down instantly.
I tried to close my eyes again without realizing Sean had stolen glances at him. He sleeps with his back to me. As I expected, I knew Sean wasn't the badass Carl made him out to be. Sean differed from the man who would take a chance on a tightrope. He never misbehaved with me, even though I was his girlfriend. I have no regrets about loving a man like him. I'm more and more sure of the changes that happened to him because there's something he's hiding from me. A reason and a mystery that I have to find the answer to myself if he doesn't want to tell me.
That night, I finally could sleep peacefully. We slept with our backs to each other, but having Sean beside me made me not feel afraid anymore.
