Evan Part 6
"Yes, you're right. Humans cannot be the same forever. As time goes by and more events that occur will change the perspective of humans. But if Sean changed, surely he has his reasons, right? Why don't you ask him? the reasons that made him change." A smile finally tugged at my lips. It's true what mother said. Regardless of whether or not my gut feeling was that Sean had changed, he must have had his reasons.
I threw myself in my mother's arms. My heart felt more comfortable after talking with my mother.
"Now you sleep. It's already night, time for sick people to sleep," said Mother. I immediately looked at the clock on the wall.
"It's only 08.00 in the evening, mom," I replied, pouting my lips.
"You need to sleep so that you get well soon and you can quickly go back to college." After seeing me nod my head, Mother left my room.
My heart, which had been troubled since earlier, is now calm again. I lay back down and pulled my favourite blanket, covering my whole body. A warm feeling spreads instantly. I tried closing my eyes. I was exhausted because it was easy for me to fall asleep.
I don't know how many hours I've been asleep, but suddenly, I felt the blanket covering my body move away from my body as if someone was pulling it. Still, with my eyes closed, I pulled back the veil that only covered my legs to cover my whole body again. I try to go back to sleep.
Suddenly, I opened my eyes when I heard the sound of something falling, which I believe came from the living room. Could it be my parents who are still awake? I plug my ears as sharply as possible to hear the situation around me. It's hushed. Not a sound can be heard anymore. I looked at the clock on the wall; the time showed 01.13, and I'm sure my parents must have fallen asleep.
Once again, the sound was heard, making me finally get out of bed. I felt pain in my knee, but I ignored it because I thought more curiosity at this time. I strolled out of my room.
It's dark. All the lights are always turned off when we're going to sleep because it's dark around my house.
It's quiet, and the atmosphere in my house is tranquil. That's only natural because my parents must have been sleeping so soundly that they didn't hear it earlier.
For the third time, the sound was heard.
"Who's that?" I asked, hoping someone would answer. Silence, no one's voice was heard. I'm in the living room when I turn on the light and look around me, but nothing has fallen or anything out of the ordinary here. Then I went to the living room. I returned my gaze after I turned on the light first. Here, too, I see nothing but curtains fluttering, maybe because of the wind.
For the umpteenth time, the sound was heard, and this time, I was sure it was coming from the kitchen. I rushed to the kitchen despite my heart beating fast because I was now scared. I strolled towards the kitchen. I was only afraid that the sound would come from robbers who entered or criminals who intended to harm my family.
I turned on the kitchen light when I was only a step away from entering. In that second, I felt pain in my head, a pain that was quite familiar to me because it was not the first time I'd thought of it. I know this is a sign of a ghost in this room. I darted my eyes around this kitchen, but there was no figure of any appearance there.
I heard only the sound of dripping water from the bathroom near the kitchen. Ignoring my heart, which was still beating rapidly, I walked towards the bathroom, where the door was closed. I slowly opened the door and turned on the light to illuminate the dark bathroom. I breathed a sigh of relief when I saw no figure there. Only water from the faucet seemed to be flowing. After closing the faucet meeting, I returned to the kitchen. I looked around again when I finally found the source of the sound. Four pieces of plate were seen broken and scattered on the floor. 'Who broke the plates? ghost?' I thought. I picked up the broken dishes and threw them in the trash.
Before returning to my room, I looked around me again. There's nothing here. I don't even feel pain in my head anymore. I decided to return to my room without turning off the lights that I had turned on. I thought to leave the lights on so no more ghosts would bother me. But I'm surprised. It's been a long time since we lived in this apartment, and so far, I've never felt the presence of ghosts here. I ignore that thought. I want to go back to lying my body on my soft bed.
Arriving at my favourite room, I lay back down and tried to go back to sleep. Maybe I had just drifted off to sleep when I felt my bed shaking like someone was moving it. At first, the shaking was slow until it started shaking violently, scaring me to death.
'Stop it. Whoever you are, show yourself," I said. But instead of stopping, the vibrations got stronger, I felt.
"Do not bother me. If you want to ask for my help, show yourself!" I entirely understand why ghosts come to me. It must be because they ask for my help. Well, at least that's based on my previous experience. Finally, the vibrations stopped. At that moment, I felt the pain in my head again. Cold air spread all over my body, making me shiver.
Its existence, I believe it, came from under my bed. Finally, I decided to do something crazy by getting out of bed and looking under my bed.
I heard someone breathing from under it, which made my heart race fast as if it wanted to jump out of my chest. But I ignore this fear. I don't know what kind of ghost he is, but I still have to see him. Finally, I crouched and positioned my body to peer into the pit.
'AAH!"
My screams echoed when I felt something grab me and drag me under the bed.
