Sean Part 2
"Leslie, is Sean having a problem that makes him often daydream alone?" asked Angie, which made me reflect. There is a problem that makes Sean often daydream alone. He's been acting strange since he learned about his family's problems. After I succeeded in calming the spirit of his father, who was still haunting his house, it wasn't long before Sean's attitude changed drastically.
"Why did you ask that Leslie?" Mr. Leo asked Angie. I'm also curious to hear Angie's reason for asking me that.
"Black magic shouldn't be able to affect humans that easily unless that person is having a problem that makes him often lose concentration or a problem that makes that person's dark side emerge. Remember, every human being must have a dark side, people who are unable to suppress this dark side are what we call hatred. People who are consumed by their dark side so that feelings of hatred and revenge arise in their hearts. So Leslie, do you know anything about Sean?" she asked again, which this time I immediately answered.
I trust Angie and Mr. Leo. I know they can't possibly divulge Sean's family secrets to other people. That's why I tell them everything. I have nothing to hide from them. I even told them about Aunt Silva not liking me and being against our relationship. I remember to tell you about the change in Sean's attitude towards me over the years.
"Leslie, why didn't you tell me about this matter? If you had told me from the start, maybe this wouldn't have happened to Sean!! I told you to tell me immediately if you run into any trouble!!" Angie snapped at me. I could tell she was mad at me. It was only natural since I had kept this matter a secret from her.
"I'm sorry, I just didn't want to burden you. You're expecting a baby, I'm afraid my and Sean's problems will weigh you down. Besides, I never thought that Sean's change in attitude was due to the influence of black magic. I never suspected it one bit. Even though I know there's something he's hiding from me." My explanation did not make Angie's anger subside at all.
"You're wrong, Leslie. Sean didn't hide anything from you. The change in his attitude towards you was purely due to the influence of that black magic. It seems that the person who deliberately sent the black magic wanted to mess with Sean's mind and kill him slowly." I was wide-eyed at Angie's explanation. So, all this time, my thinking about Sean was wrong. I was wrong to think Sean was hiding something from me all along.
"If only at that time we immediately handled it and removed the influence of black magic from within him. Sean definitely wouldn't go through all of this. Leslie, are you aware? Sean's life is on the line, his body won't last much longer. It's only a matter of time until he breathes his last." Suddenly, I cried when I heard Angie's words. How bad is Sean? No, I don't want him to go.
"Honey, this can't be happening. We have to save Sean," said Mr. Leo, who shared my thoughts.
"That's right, Angie. We have to save Sean no matter what. I don't want to lose him. I love him so much, Angie. You know that, right?" My crying got louder. I felt frail because I was too afraid that Sean would leave me forever. I really can not do without Sean beside me. I'm used to having him near me.
Angie hugged me tightly and tried to calm me down.
"Of course, we will try to save him. I don't want anything bad to happen to Sean either. I also love him as much as I love you, Leslie. I will try to get the influence of black magic out of him," said Angie, which instantly relieved me.
"Yes, Angie. I beg you to do whatever it takes to save him. I don't want to lose it." My tears broke even more in Angie's arms.
"Tonight, I will try to get the black magic out of his body. My father once taught me how to cast black magic, I hope I can do it."
"Why does it have to be night? Why not now?" I asked impatiently. I can't wait any longer when Sean's life could be lost.
"That black magic will work at night, so we have to cast it at night as well. Be patient, Leslie. I'm sure Sean is struggling right now, too. He can hang on and fight it." Finally, I nodded my head, agreeing with Angie's words. Now, there's nothing left for us to do but wait for nightfall.
After waiting for hours, the night we had been waiting arrived. I, Angie, and Mr. Leo were in Sean's treatment room. Angie said that this ritual should not be disturbed, so Mr. Leo finally waited outside the room to make sure no one would come to disturb her. While I sat silently in the room, watching Angie sitting beside Sean's bed with a thick book in her lap. Angie's right hand was placed on Sean's forehead with her eyes closed and her mouth reciting something. I hope Angie's business will succeed and Sean will return to normal.
I kept praying that Angie would succeed in removing the influence of black magic.
I didn't think anyone would want to kill Sean like this. From what I know, Sean is a kind and polite man, although sometimes his attitude is cold, and his words are spicy. But it was impossible for someone who hated him to do this to him. Who exactly was the person who sent this black magic to him? I'd love to know. Could she be a woman who used to be hurt because Sean rejected her love? Considering quite a lot of women who chased him all this time. However, if my thinking is true, how could that woman have the heart to want to take Sean's life if she loved Sean? If it were me, if Sean were happier with another woman, I would have let it go even though my heart would break for it. Maybe what Angie said is true: every human being has a dark side in his heart.
After learning the truth about Sean, I felt bad for him too. All this time, I've always had evil thoughts about him. I thought he didn't love me anymore. I even thought he was in a relationship with Leyna. He betrayed me with Leyna. I often scolded him when I thought he had broken his promise not to hide anything from me. I kept pressing him to tell me the secret he was hiding from me until he got angry at me and ended up in our fight. He never kept anything secret from me. I regretted all the evil thoughts I had with Sean all this time.
I also feel foolish for not realizing that Sean's body is affected by black magic. Even though Angie told me my ability is different. I can indeed feel and see ghosts wandering around but cannot handle the existence of black magic, witchcraft, or other evil arts, unlike Angie, a psychic. She couldn't see ghosts but could feel the presence of spirits and such wicked skills. I feel relieved that my decision to call Angie here was right. If I kept this matter hidden from Angie, I might lose Sean for good.
"Aaah!!" Angie screamed, which instantly made me break my reverie. Mr. Leo rushed into the room as if he heard Angie's screams.
"What is it?" I asked Mr. Leo together. We approached Angie, who rose from her seat while holding the hand she had placed on Sean's forehead. And Mr. Leo's eyes widened when we saw the burn-like wound on Angie's hand.
"What's wrong with your hand?" Asked Mr. Leo hysterically while examining the wound on Angie's hand.
"That black magic is too strong. I can't fight against it," said Angie with a regretful look. At that moment, I felt my body very weak. I unsteadily approached Sean, who was still lying on his bed. I shook his body, hoping he would wake up because of it.
"Sean, wake up, open your eyes. Please, hiks... hiks..." I begged with tears running down my face.
"You can't die, you can't leave me. SEAN WAKE UP!!" I screamed hysterically. I can no longer contain the sadness and fear inside me.
"Leslie, calm down. We must not give up. There is still another way to save him." I stared intensely at Angie, feeling a glimmer of hope fill my heart again.
"How to? Tell me, Angie, I will do anything to save him," I said firmly without the slightest hesitation. Yes, I will do anything to save Sean, even if I have to sacrifice my life.
"There is a plant that can ward off and remove the effects of witchcraft. The name is bidara leaf or widara with the Latin name Ziziphus mauritiana. You should have heard of it, Leslie?" I nodded my head in response. Yes, I've heard the name of that plant.
"We have to make a potion with that plant. Then we drink it and for the rest, we wash Sean's body. The plant grows in dry areas. We have to look for it and take seven leaves. We must hurry to find it. Seeing how strong the influence of black magic is, I realize we don't have much time left." I was astonished to hear that. Sean's condition is on the verge of death, but I will never give up when we still have hope to save him.
"Then I'll look for it right now," said Mr. Leo enthusiastically.
"I'm coming with you, Leo."
"No. You can't be too tired. Remember, you're pregnant. You wait here."
"But Leo, I don't want to just wait. I also wanted to do something to help Sean."
"So far you've done a lot of things to help him, now let me help him."
"B-but..."
"Follow your husband's orders," said Mr. Leo, which made Angie silent momentarily.
"It's true what Mr. Leo said, let me and Mr. Leo look for the plant. You wait here and look after Sean."
"No, Leslie. You should also wait here. Your wound is still not healed, let me look for it myself." Mr. Leo expressed his refusal.
"If Mr. Leo was in my position, I wish Angie was in Sean's current position. Is Mr. Leo going to wait without doing anything? Can Mr. Leo stay here? Not, right? Mr. Leo will want to do whatever it takes to save Angie, and so do I. I love Sean, just like Mr. Leo loves Angie. That's why I beg you don't stop me because even if Mr. Leo insists on stopping me, I will still go even if I have to look for it alone." Mr. Leo was silent when he heard what I said. Doubts still filled him.
"Besides, I already know the people in this area well enough, I'm sure they will be willing to help find those plants for us. More people looking is way better than being alone right?" They persuaded me again and finally agreed with Mr. Leo.
Even though it was 2 a.m. this morning, it didn't stop us. Mr. Leo and I rushed out of the hospital. Our primary goal is to ask the residents in this area to find the plants.
